  2. San Mateo, CA September 6, 2010 (PRWEB) -- Opulent Holdings Corporation, owner of San Francisco based Fusion Airways, announced Sunday they had reached a tentative agreement to acquire MidContinent Holdings LLC. The deal, valued at an undisclosed amount, would form one company under the Fusion Airways branding and absorb the wholly owned MidContinent Airlines' fleet, assets, debt and crew members. The merger would form one of the largest simulated airlines to date, and would join the two most realistic and innovative airlines in the simulated airline industry.MidContinent Airlines was formed in late 1997 under the operating identity of America West by a dedicated board of directors with a single goal: realism. Over time, they created the most realistic virtual airline environment ever developed, implementing industry leading training, flight records, and real world part 121 dispatch operations. Throughout the years, MidContinent expanded their branding and currently serves over 50 destinations throughout the United States, Mexico, Canada and Europe. Utilizing a fleet of Boeing and Airbus aircraft, MidContinent provides excellence in service, on-time performance, and professional operations.San Francisco based Fusion Airways, formed in early 2007, also strives to achieve a similar goal as MidContinent: industry changing realism. Through the use of an award winning website, the first seniority based bidding system, enhanced flight records and an industry leading dispatch center, Fusion Airways has been an innovator in the virtual airline industry. Fusion Airways currently operates air service to over 40 destinations throughout the United States, Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean and Europe.Details surrounding the MidContinent fleet integration are unknown, however industry analysts believe that Fusion Airways may liquidate many of the airline's older assets.Beginning September 5th, MidContinent Airlines will begin a phased shutdown. Routes that can be accommodated by Fusion Airways will be cut first and the remainder scaled back through September 15th. MidContinent Airlines ceased ticket sales in July after the fate of the airline was deemed unknown, thanks largely to issues with creditors and their reservation system."We understand this is truly a sad day for MidContinent Airlines, however the MidCon brand and all it stands for will be better represented with the stability of Fusion's brand." Opulent Holdings Chairman, and Fusion Airways CEO, Jordan Greene said Sunday. He continued: "Today should not be looked upon as an ending for MidContinent, but rather as a rebirth with a stronger and more successfully orientated brand name."MidContinent airlines executives were not immediately available for comment, however they did release the following statement to their employees: "MidContient Airlines has a proud history, since being founded in 1997, we've seen enormous growth and stability, providing the most realistic virtual airline experience ever seen in the industry. Through our crew member's hard work and dedication, we have fostered a genuine customer base, and have helped to mold a standard for other airlines to follow. This is certainly a difficult day for all of us, however our leadership team believes that this move will not only ensure long-term success of MidContinent, but it will set a new standard for Virtual Airlines that has never before been seen."Fusion Airways is expected to release more information regarding passenger accommodations, and the airline's long-term plan in several days.---About Fusion AirwaysFusion Airways (ICAO: FUS, IATA: F4, Call-Sign: "Rip-Tide") is the a virtual air carrier based in San Francisco, California. 5. Tom,A well deserved "BRAVO ZULU" to you and your staff! It's great to see the AVSIM home page on my computer screen again. It's been a few boring days without my daily dose of AVSIM.Don Van WormerHR Director, MidCon Airlines
  6. Damn glad to see the forums back online! Super to see you here too John.Don Van Wormer
  7. Looked at ExecJet. Looks good, as long as you want to fly only online. Corporate Air America supports most of the major payware aircraft and doesn't require online only flights. Check the VA forums for the address to CAA.Don Van Wormer
  8. Are you thinking of Virtual American Airlines (VAA)? If so, there was a major meltdown, and I've not heard from them in months.Don Van Wormer

  10. While it saddens us as members of the Aviation Community to see another company leave the market under the strain of current operating conditions, the cessation of operations by American Trans Air (ATA) makes available a complement of aircraft that are compatible with the fleet-realignment goals of MidContinent Airlines.MCA has been receiving new 737NG aircraft as they come from the factory, however under the current fuel cost crisis, replacement of the "Classic" 737s - 737-300 and 737-400 aircraft - has become a priority for the airline.Since the retirement of the 767-200 under both fuel- and maintenance-pressures, the company has had a gap in capacity in its high-volume trans-continental fleet. The 757-300 was targeted early-on as a successor, but due to its popularity and relative scarcity, aircraft were not available.Upon hearing the news of ATA's closure, MidContinent acted quickly to negotiate the acquisition of thirteen 737-800 and four 757-300 aircraft. Details are still being worked out between MCA and ATA's creditors and lessors, but the MidCon team is hopeful that these aircraft can be given a bright new home in this flourishing airline. In addition to these 17 aircraft, and unrelated to the ATA acquisition, four 737-700's that have been in storage have identified and, through negotiations with the lessors, will be joining the MidCon fleet. With the addition of the NGs, Classic 737s will be retired in due course, decreasing airline operation, fuel and maintenance costs.Again, our thoughts are with the pilots and employees of ATA, and we wish them luck in this difficult time.Darren HessChief Information OfficerMidContinent Airlines
  11. Okay... Uninstaled SDK SP2 and FSX SP2. Reinstalled FSX SP1 and SDK SP1A. Don't know how or why, but I was able to get the default PMDG 744F GE to load and was fully able to access the options menu. Go figure!Don Van Wormer
  12. Got my new 44F for FSX and installed it. Loaded up the aircraft and pressed the ALT key to bring up the menu, then left mouse clicked on ADD-ONS, then PMDG, then OPTIONS. The sim froze up! Had to turn off my computer to reboot. Tried it all again... This time I was able to access the options, but just as soon as I made my selections and exited, the entire screen went black in FSX! If I used the WINDOWS key to return to the desktop, things were fine, but if I returned to FSX, things were still black! HELP!!!I have FSX with all the SPs and SDK SPs installed. OS is XP Media Center Edition, most recent Nvidia 7800GTX drivers, 2GB ram, 3.0 Mhz dual core. Any ideas would be great as I bought this add-on to use with Globe Cargo VA, but now can't!Thanks,Don "VeeMaxx" Van Wormer
  13. The staff of MidCon wishes to say "thanks" to the AVSIM staff for their hospitality, support and friendship, once again expressed to us during the 2007 FanCon. To everyone, we look forward to seeing you at the AVSIM FanCon 2008!MidContinent Airlines "On time, Every time!"Don Van WormerDirector of Human ResourcesMidContinent Airlineshttp://www.midconair.com
  14. Dell 19" Flat Panel in full screen mode.Doin
  15. It seems that my 2D screens are acting up in all my add-on aircraft (Legacy, SR-22G2, F1 172R and XL2). The instrument panels are not showing up although they are selected. Sometimes, as I cycle views, it'll act normal, but upon the next change of view, it'll act up. I get a view that has no instruments or I get a black box on the lower part of the view where the instruments should be. All default aircraft work as advertised. Any help would be great!Dell XPS 6002GB ram2 x 7800GTX in SLIThanks,Don Van Wormer
