  1. Hello You have hit upon the one minor problem concerning Flusifix. I HAVE got an English version, but I believe after that came only a German language edition. However even in the German program iam sure there were English translations of all the functions. It made selecting choices a little less quick but you still could manage it. I don't know if its possible or legal or whatever to send a copy of the English program from one user to another. If it is I would be happy to oblige.(although someone will have to explain to me the procedure involved.) Cheers Socks. PS may have a hunt about on the net to see if its available anyware.

  3. Flusifix ! The FS9 version. The best and simplest to use tweaker I have and still use. Socks. PS can't comment on the effectiveness or otherwise of the FSX version. Flusifix ! The FS9 version. 4. Hello I assume you have the appropriate slider fully set In your Display settings? I have no problems getting these effects to work. I don't like the result so never use them. Cheers Socks.
  5. Hello I am not sure if I can help. But I use a freeware (you can donate if you want ,but optional) program called 'joy to key' .I use it because the programming software that comes with my joystick Thrustmaster hotas X does not allow you to program one of its keys to open FSnavigator. Joy to key HAS enabled me to do this though. I am not saying it will do what you want, but could be worth having a look at. Its a very small program and has zero effect on FS performance. Thoughts Socks.
  6. Hello I use the Ken Mitchell panel. I have modified it somewhat by adding extra third party gauges. But it has always been my choice. Available here in the library. There are some updated versions of this panel, so maybe go for original first. Anyways Cheers Socks
  7. Hello By far the best freeware 170 (imo) are the models by Dreamwings. Search the library here at Avsim or Flightsim.com. Dreamwings didn't do the 190, but I have loads of there 170s. There are some nice freeware panels available as well. These are not complex panels, but still very neat and compliment the Dreamwings aircraft nicely. Much better than dear old Premier aircraft designs .Again imo There are no good freeware 190s. IMO again:-) Cheers Andrew
  8. Thanks Ron I don't have any PMDG aircraft, but have so far experienced no problems with my fleet. In fact just the opposite. My panel gauges are so clear now its a real revelation. Buying this new monitor has made Fs9 almost a new simulator with much changed and improved visuals.Even FSNavigator looks so much clearer and with the increase in size is good to look at in its own right. I would advise anybody out there who has an older PC and Gcard, but is still using a smaller (17inch square non widescreen monitor in my case ) that an upgrade to a larger (only 24 inch widescreen ) has for me made a significant improvement in my sim experience. Definitely recommend a new monitor if yours is getting on a bit. Cheers Ron and all. Socks
  9. Thanks Appliance Thanks for your reply. You are correct on all points. I bit the bullet and bought the monitor. A samsung 24 inch.I have only had a quick test run with it ,but i am much impressed. The resolution (as you say) is 1920*1080 .(All you chaps with multi monitor or huge screen setups will probably have a chuckle here) ,but the larger size and pin sharp clarity is a huge improvement over my aged seventeen inch Philips. I actually like the stretched cokpit view and gauges that can be read without squinting. Its no wonder my eyesight has got so bad over recent years. I have been put of the idea of widescreen monitors for years ,prefering to stick to my non wide Phillips ,but any misgivings i may have have proved to be unfounded. I should have done this a long time ago. PS spot view remains in proportion as well ,no stretching or distortion.(which i thought would occur with widescreen) So far iam very happy with my purchase, which by the way was about a third the cost of my trusty Phillips (about six years ago) Looking forward to evening flight to give it a good run ,and see how it performs over a two to three hour period. Cheers Andy Apologies for multi posts. Avsim is in appallingly grotty mode today .Very slow and with all sorts of error messages. This also seems to be causing my duplicate posts.I don't know if its something to do with the masses of speculative posts about you know what, but avsim is definitely in Sopwith Camel mode, not Concorde.Slow! Cheers Socks
  10. Hello All I have a seven year old PC. It is P4 2.8Ghz/ 2GB ram /Gforce 6600 agv (500 ram) of a powerhouse. It runs Fs9 very well. I have seventeen inch monitor running at 1280*1024 red.(the Max). Alright! No sniggering at the back. I nearly bought a new monitor this morning, but held back when the shop (Argos)said they would offer no refund if said monitor would not function with my old PC. I recently bought a new HD flat screen TV which can also function as a monitor, this works on my setup but only at a res somewhat higher, but not much more so (sorry can't remember precisely)than my usual 1280*1024 setting . My question would this new monitor (Samsung s24c300h 24inch red 1920*1080) Work with my old PC,and if so even if I could not run it at these higher settings, would it still be better than my seventeen inch Philips (sharper perhaps). The flat screen telly was somewhat disappointing cockpit gauges etc rather fuzzy, but spot mode quite sharp. Anyways there you have it. Cheers Socks.
  11. Don't no whether your PC needs upgrading. But your graphics which appear to be of the on board integrated type do. Your sim experience will be greatly improved if you buy a dedicated graphics card. There is much knowledge here at Avsim as to which card would be appropriate for you. I don't FSX .I use FS9 so have no problems with performance ,even on my seven year old PC. Cheers Socks Don't no whether your PC needs upgrading. 12. Hello have just changed THIS in DB settings. USER AGENT! Was set to desktop.Have now set to Android. This seems to have fixed the lag and poor scrolling problem. Cheers Socks.
  13. Update!! Dolphin definitely works if you want desktop Avsim. However! Dolphin is horribly laggy on my tablet. Forum writing and page scrolling is slow jerky and poor. The Lord giveth.....etc Socks
  14. Hello All John Binner has found a solution.Have just tried Avsim using Dolphin Browser. As he says it does indeed open in FULL site mode.Created a link and tried a couple of times to be sure it wasn't sneeky flukery and it still opening FULL site. So thats hoorah! DB and much hiss for chrome and fox. Dolphin B appears to be a solution. Thanks John Cheers Socks.
  15. Hello Will experiment with Dolphin. And see what occurs. Cheers Socks
  16. Absolutely! Its only Avsim that I have this particular problem with. By the way my tablet is the Nook HD 16k with the Android O.S. As you say the 'request desktop site option'does nothing. PS Perhaps Avsim could at least put the 'full site' link at the top of there homepage rather than the bottom, having to scroll down each time is surprisingly irritating ,and just adds to the overall irritatingness. Anyways cheers Socks
  17. Hello All my sites, whether flightsim or otherwise open in desktop mode, the exception being Avsim. It always opens in mobile mode and has to opened again via the link at the bottom of the page to display in Desktop view Its a bit tedious .If Avsim is slow to load on a certain day it can be VERY slow if you have got to do it twice. Anyways hoping for a fix. Cheers Socks.
  18. Same as Mel I have masses of PA Airbuses. And like Mel I also had found them rather underpowered( on takeoff particularly)IFDG the same.In fact in the early days of my long swimming career I used to stall on takeoff on a regular basis. I have long since mastered the art of the Bus takeoff and this aircraft along with the tried and trusted Ken Mitchell panel cause me no problem's whatsoever. Probably have more PAs than any other freeware aircraft. Socks
  19. Highflier If you like flying everything Airsource is the place for you.By all means fly Platinum, but at least give Airsource a look. You can fly just about everything from Cessna's to A380s. AND!!unlike most VAs you are not limited to that VAs unique livery. You can fly ALL the worlds major airlines in there own liveries. Airsource is user friendly to newcomers,is not up its own fundiment with seriousness.Has an easy going and accessible CEO.And likewise its staff. And is most excellently jolly good. You like to fly it? Airsource has it.. Cheers Andrew.
  20. Concerning keyboards. I am not sure about W7 W8 but I do know XP can have different keyboard settings for different countries. I have been caught out myself by this IE somewhere in your settings there should be options for U.S. or U.K . (as an example.Other countries may be available)keyboard setups which you can alter to suit your preference.Your original P.C. choice may not have necessarily been faulty. Anyways some thoughts .Others may help. Cheers Socks.
  21. More importantly !it has started in FS today.Gone are those grey, white and generally grim textures to replaced by the lush and verdant pastures of old England ,were the sheep doth gambol and frolick amongst the rolling hills and valleys , old farmer Giles quatheth cider whilst surveying the early budding oaks ,he doth basketh in the evening sun that of course never sets upon old blighty and overhead a distant 747 flies apparently silent and of course stutter free amongst the wispiest of cirrus to lands distant....... By eck! must keep of the lager... What this has to do with FS Its Summer time .A good day to fly. Cheers Socks.
  22. Hello I had similar problem to this on my rather old but still good (For Fs9) P4 setup. I had a problem with something called 'system interrupts'. I would start the PC and very quickly these system interrupt things would climb until they were using 100 percent of the CPU .The result was the same as you record ie FS running with very low (unusable) frame rates and the PC running very poorly and slowly for any other tasks as well. The cause in my case was a failing Graphics card. I replaced the card and immediately the problem was solved.(like having a new PC ) Please excuse my lack of technical expertise and description of my symptoms. Others may be able to chip in with a info about system interrupts if you suspect this may be at the bottom of what's causing you grief. PS there are free programs that will show you if SIs are causing you PC to run badly.(not sure if its the same for multi cored jobbies though) Anyways some thoughts Socks
  23. That's OK .I have checked out Ronzie's update link, and will follow the appropriate instructions for CD. I hope as I am buying a pre-owned copy there won't be any issues with update process. Cheers Andy
  24. Hello All Have ordered FSPS today.I know you recommended the download version Ronzie ,but have found a well priced boxed copy on Ebay. Should get later this week. cheers Socks
  25. Hello All I never tried Flight. However I do remember the furore around the time of its release and its rather quick demise.(Nuff said) Anyways at the time I remember a post suggesting that the FLIGHT forum be closed as it was no longer supported by MS and seemed to be heading into oblivion. At time I agreed with this. Having seen that FLIGHT is now two years old ,and does seem to have a very active forum, I must apologise for supporting this suggestion. If you guys (and occasional girls) are still getting enjoyment from this sim ,then JOLLY GOOD LUCK to you!Long may your support ,enjoyment and forum continue. We are all just different branches of this intriguing hobby. The brotherhood. Cheers Socks.
