  1. Seems to be a problem with the runway landing only. If you trap it's not going to be a problem as you won't have any rollout. The FM seems Ok but after you land the aircraft isn't flying anymore. This has been a problem with other FS aircraft in the past as well.
  2. This could be interesting for FS-11http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23015004Funny thing is I live in Reno and this company is news to me. There are only two airports in town and no chatter about this at all.
  3. Is it just me? I can't seem to find a download version of My TrafficX anywhere.
  4. You guys do realise that the 8800GTS 512 is a whole new chip. The only relation to the 8800GTS 640 and 320 is the name GTS. The 512 performance is closer to the GTX. Hence you could run a 320 and a 640 in SLI but you must have 2 512's since the chip sets are different.
  5. Check out this thread.http://forums.frugalsworld.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=126626
  6. You guys need to come to Reno and see the real thing. The modeling of Reno in acceleration is pretty good, finally Stead looks like Stead in FS. As for your engine problems don't feel bad. You should have seen the engine parts from Strega and Merlins Magic last year. The last couple of years have not been kind to the mustangs at Reno. The unlimiteds are strung pretty high when they run.
  7. The LDS does work with acceleration and DX-10 preview checked.Further he has Vista which has DX-10 AND the DX-9L coded in. His vid card is DX-10 compliant so he is DX-10 ready
  8. So far so good for me with Accelleration. The F-18 was definatly a new aircraft with all the carrier ops feature added to the sim. The P-51s also aren't the old CFS P-51 thrown into FSX the new engine controlls and dammage models. The acceleration P-51 has as much in common with the CFS one as "Dago Red" has in common with a stock WWII P-51. So if you whant the new planes you have to install the whole thing. Acceleration has been running fine in both the DX-10 and DX-9 configs for me. I have taken the time to do a couple of small things to keep it smooth.Back up you FSX config file. After installing acceleration delete the FSX confic file and let FSX build a new one. When switching between DX9/DX10 remove the config file and let FSX build a new one. After that reinsert your tweeks. For DX-10 you must have Vista AND a DX-10 compatable vid card. Every FS install needs a little tweaking once you know where your system is happpy it's not that hard to keep it there.
  9. It looks OKbut......Does this thing have a working FMC? other than that the "office" looks pretty good. I've been burned buy other addons like Feel there and Abacus so now I'm carefull.
  10. Please post your what vid driver you are using. Also are you using a sound card and if so what type. also what specific "low settings are you using?
  11. Thanks for the heads up on chartfinder. Unfourtunatly they only have charts for US Canada UK and Austrailia. Now we just need the rest of the world.
  12. I really don't like the 2.5GB RAM in XP non 64 bit. Do you have any other sims/games and how do they run? First thing I would do is drop back to 2GB of ram.the other thing that jumped out is the 6200 nVidia card. Is it a card or an onboard chip. Either way check your drivers. Also don't just load in the newest ones use a good driver cleaner and clear out the old ones first. You don't want to know how much #### bits of old driver can cause. Last open up the case on your box and using a can of compressed air clean off any and all fans and the MoBo.
  13. Hi guys just a small one here. Using the DX-10 pre in Acceleration I lose the progressive taxi feature.
  14. Since it looks like FSNav 5 is vaporware I'm kind of left out in the cold here. FS Nav was my worldwide chart so to speak. I liked to use FS Nav with the LDS-767 to find and modify waypoints in the FMC. It was also good for looking at how the different STARs layout on the map.So is there a either a good location for detailed charts (worldwide). Before anyone says "use the GPS" The LDS-767 doesn't have one. And since the in sim map in FSX pauses the sim that's not very realistic either. Keep in mind that changing a STAR to change runways needs to happen pretty far out.FSCharts.com is pretty good but not very detailed as far as STAR charts. Aeroplanner.com is very good but only for US Airports.
  15. Acceleration running fine on my system. Installed over my existing SP-1 install. No effect on my LDS-767 at all. The P-51 is not just ported from CFS. It has some race specific engine controls as well. Plus the Reno/Stead Race course and timing system. Not to mention the ability to do race dammage to the engine if you don't manage it correctly. The F-18 has some special key commands to hook up to the cat and launch. as well as lowering the hook. Plus the carriers are in motion, very important for trapping.
  16. IIRC in the F/A-18 Flaps will not extend until airspeed is below 245 kts. Also gear and Flaps automaticlly retrace at a certain airspeed to protect the airframe. Many of the systems in the F/A-18 and F-16 are pilot proof. The C/D and E/F versions have G limiters, just as the F-16 has a CAT I/III switch. In both cases the ammount of G's the pilot can inflict on the airframe is limited by the FBW system. You simply cannot "just rip the wings off the aircraft."The posts in this forum regarding this aircrat are interesting. You can tell who has been flying Mil sims and who hasn't. Didn't take me long to figure out how to tweak the F-18 for a trap. (hint, no speedbrake, ride the ATO, and call the ball. )It's still not JF-18 but it's way way better than Flightdeck. This is the first modern fast jet that has been acceptable in FS. Pretty much all the other HUDs and pits have been unrealistic crap till now. Older "steam gauge" fighters have been OK.
  17. Yea use the one in the acceleration expansion. It's pretty good all things considered.
  18. When I heard that the F/A18C was being added to FSX i was very unimpressed. as a long time F4/JF-18 pilot the thought of carrier ops and combat jets in FS was never a good idea to me. I still haven't seen one with decent avionics.Till now. I have to admit the pit in the F/A-18 is much better than I thought it would be. The working radar is very nice. No you can't lock up a bogey but if you have flown either F4 or JF-18 you will be right at home. One thing though it doesn't fly like a fly by wire aircraft. but that is a limitation of the sim. Forever non f-16's in F4 have FBW characteristics. You don't have to trim for power and so forthAnyhow good job Aces for putting a fast jet into FS that doesn't have a pit cobbled together from existing FS gauges.

  20. Before this goes any farther I'd like to thank Phil for even being here in the forum. Funny how many devs won't go near a comunity forum when there is an issue with a game/sim. But every time Phil is right here answering questions.PS Thanks for making Reno look like well Reno.
  21. I have beeen trying to find the simconnect.xml file with no luck. also I can't find the WinSxS file as well. I'm running Vista ultimate 64 Help please!!
