  1. You are not alone. In my case it's the NG that I'm waiting for.Charles
  2. Someone here has to know how to do this. Even if somebody can help me narrow the search to find the info it would be a huge help.
  3. I have a second rig that I'd like to set up to run FSX extras like FS Commander and maybe. a few other things. So first thing. before I get into the second box. Is there a way to get FSC and other non FSX windows on a second monitor without running in windowed mode? Now to run a second box to support FSX on the primary rig what do I have to do and what software is needed. I normally run FSX with the following. My Traffic XASARadar Contact4Primary AircraftPMDG MD-11PMDG 747XLDS 767ER
  4. Tried that but kept getting a "invalid entry" in the FMC. I tried looking up how to do a manual entry in the manual but no joy.
  5. Been trying to find a way to manually input ILS freq and heading into the 747X. Just did a landing at FBSK rwy 08. Couldnt pull the ILS aproach up in the FMC, and had to do a missed approach followed by a visual landing.
  6. That did it FS2 start center is up and runnning again. I used the command line before but maybe I didn't reboot right away.
  7. No Joy I think I disabled DEP and turned off Kapersky log file below. FS2 still works in flight but I can't access the start center. 8. Copy.I just installed AVG Anitvirus Antispyware. I don't like it so I'm going to uninstall later and install CA.I'll post what happens.
  9. This just started. I go to open FS2crew and the start center crashes. I can't see the original rror but in the next dialog box I was able to get the following information.Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: FS2CrewX.exe Application Version: 1.0.0.0 Application Timestamp: 2a425e19 Fault Module Name: FS2CrewX.exe Fault Module Version: 1.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 2a425e19 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 0000342e OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.256.1 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 709e Additional Information 2: 5344acfc13b5248f5a336d98107d9fca Additional Information 3: 586f Additional Information 4: 579f7f0185c7fc23c01d6ab2d0b37309
  10. Rats now I want a panda livery for PMDG!Chuck
  11. Now that the MD-11 is out the door any chance of a 400FX version update. Some of my favorite liveries are freighters for.
  12. OKYup I had to do it a reinstall of Windows Vista. The whole format c process. First I collected what I thought was all the critical FSX stuff with all the other reinstall stuff. Then I ran the windows easy transfer to move all the docs and other stuff. I was also careful to copy the Users(your name)AppdataRoamingMicrosoftFSX file as well. After the clean install of windows and other critical programs I ran the easy transfer wizard software again I only run the transfer on the C:drive stuff other wise it gets too large. Then I reinstalled FSX all of it.And voila NO Logbook nothing nada!No saved flightplans eitherThen I ran the files and transfer wizard again. Bingo everything was back where it should be.So in the future Install FSX completely before running the file transfer wizard. FSX install wipes the docs and picture files.
  13. Flying into UAAA in PMDG MD-11.Told descend to FL150 QNH 1028.Set QNH to 1028Set autoflight to 15000 and start descent. leveling out at 15100 I hear.""Sir you have busted your altitude your assigned altitude is FL150 QNH 1028"I hit Ctrl+Shft+/ to hear the call again. Check the QNH setting everything shows me flying smooth at FL150. Of course I then get several busted altitude warnings in a row folowed by a scolding and how fisdo will be talking to me later. When I get told to descent to FL130 I hit the altitude and no problem but..Then I get vectored so far out that I'm out of range of the localizer. If I hadn't been paying attention and turned my self towards the airfield I would never have gotten an intercept. This is about the third time that has happened. The busted altitude is another thing though. Is there anywhay to confirm you are at your assigned in this program? If this was real life I would have broken my foot off in that ATC's...
  14. Arming spoilers on T/O was new for me too but that way they deploy in case of a abort T/O as well as autobrakes. Just one more thing that is completely different on the MD-11
  15. After you get the MD-11 airbourne go to an outside view then zoom in on the cockpit!
  16. Very happy with the PMDG-MD-11.WARNING this is a defininate RTFM addon!
  17. If you haven't changed the .cgf then the red brake should be in the corner even with auto brakes. It took me a while to get used to the auto land in the MD-11. For me the MD-11 stopped fairly quickly with med autobrakes. One thing I don't try to control the speed during decent. The autoflight system adjusts the speed based upon point of decent and flap setting. Once I stopped controling the speed setting like a Boeing thing have been real smooth.
  18. Are you inputting the slope/wind values? If not you won't get V speeds
  19. >Just to clarify, for me its EVERY letter and number on>everything on the instrument panel, every button, every>display, all are unreadable if I am 'zoomed back' far enough>to actually see the panel.>>>XP Pro SP2-FSX SP2>AMD FX60-8800GTS-2 Gigs RAM>FEX-GEX-UTUSA-FSGenesis-and a bunch of other stuff>Computer optimized by www.fs-gs.comDon't take this the wrong way please. I'm not trying to bag on this individual.First of all he at least posted his system specs. It's amazing how many are complaining about problems without posting their system specs. Some of us (myself included)have no problems with the VC at all. some are having problems which leads me to think the problem is else where. I spent a lot of time in the F-4 world and the first thing you learn is if you are asking for help post your sys specs. Looking at the above post several things jump out at me.1. XP Pro SP2 Time for SP3 maybe?2. AMD FX-60 AMD lists it as retired first gen CPU. Single core@2.6 with 1MBL2 cache. They didn't show the FSB speed3. 2GB of RAM He doesn't list how much RAM is on the vid card We know how much #### Vid RAM and Sys RAM can create with FSX. The 8800GTS is a decent card but if it's the 320MB version we know that FSX tends not to play nice.4. FEX-GEX-UTUSA-FSGenesis-and a bunch of other stuff. Lot of computing cycles here.OK so the first thing in my mind since he is also running other stuff in the background as well is. Could a lack of CPU power and system resources affecting how stuff is being drawn on that system? Any one of the things I stated above could be a culprit taken together it could be a real problem.Chuck
  20. Hey Team I've completed several flights in the MD-11 so far (more this weekend). Bottom line is there is no substitute for reading the manual. I've not had any major problems getting the hang of most of the systems. But if something goes sidways during a flight you Boeing habits will just make a bigger mess of things. That really seems to be the case with using the FMC and dealing with altering flight plans in flight. It is impresive in every way though.Chuck
  21. Vista 64 ultimate no problems here. I have been able to set things in the load manager and it shows up in FSX. Earlier I was running FSX in windowed mode with the load manager open when I changed the fuel and passenger load I coulds see the gear compress and uncompress with the weight changes.Chuck
  22. Read the Introduction .pdf in the docs folder. There is a peice in the options programing about joystick and/or throttle overriding the autopilot. You might have this enabled so hitting your joystick or if your stick is spiking it shutting off the autopilot. As for the spoiler and flap axis check the settings in FSX against any joystick programming you might have in your stick. As for problem 2 haven't seen that so far.Chuck Harris
  23. Think of it this way. The real MD-11 is a completely different aircraft in terms of design, engineering, systems and operation than any Boeing product or Airbus product out there. The same goes for the PMDG MD-11 You will need to learn most of the systems over again. The cockpit detail is far beyond anything els out there. In the 3D pit both the FMCs can be used, there in no 2d panel that opens when you click on the FMC in the 3D pit. The aircraft has 2 independent FMCs Captian and FO. The detail goes beyond the LDS 767 and the PMDG 747
