  1. Problem solved. For some reason, the USB ports on my box are pickey as to the ones I use for controller inputs. Swapped the port with the one I was using for the touchscreen and all is well.Funky....
  2. My previous set up was a CH Yoke with my throttle from the X52 flight system. Everything worked fine. Went out and bought a set of Saitek Rudder pedals, and now I lost the input to my CH yoke. For a split second when I start FS2004 I can assign an axis to the aileron from the yoke. But after that split second, I'm not able to assign anything else. Not even that same aileron assignment if I delete it. It's like FS2004 is not seeing my CH yoke after starting FS.All other indications show that the Yoke, pedals and throttle are working fine. And everything works in the sim, minus the yoke.Tried removing the rudder pedals to see if it would come back to normal, but no go. HELP!
  3. The prompt service that people receive in relation to Flight Sim software is something that is not common in the world of software, and should not be expected. Look at your software library, try and find something else where you were able to talk directly to the developer and recieve a quick response, much less directly influence a fix.Tech support will respond as well as they can, but chances are, if the software requires change, you won't see that until they are good and ready, if at all.The quick response and direct communication is something I appreciate in this community, but it is not something I demand, and will not explode over if I don't receieve and answer when I want it.Edit: After revisiting the CLS forums, i noticed plenty of posts discussing SP3. It's apparent that they are working on it is it not? Relax and wait, just like you do for every other bit of software that needs fixing.
  4. Snazzy!Hopefully some time will open up so I can start to fiddle with this more. I'm on the lowest point of the learning curve for panel editing, so this is going to take a few minutes for me to get myself edjimicated.
  5. Erm....What's the issue with the VC?
  6. I figured the row was a seperate window with buttons being individual gagues. Now if you press Panel 1, then press panel 2, does it close panel 1 while opening panel 2? Or are there multiple windows open at the same time?Or, is there a way to call up a gauge or window while opening it in the same window?e.g. I open Window 8, which has my row of buttons along the bottom. Then I press the button I have assigned to APU related stuff, can I set it so that the APU related stuff opens in that same window?
  7. I am a little curious though, how did you manage the panel selection bar across the bottom? Is this in itself a gauge?
  8. So far in my tinkering, I have found zero limitations. But I am doing this in FS9, not FSX. I am able to undock the panel, move it the touchscreen and continue to run in full screen. The panel on the touchscreen operates just as it would normally. All gauges move, all items are clickable and dragable, there is no difference. And the mouse still works so that option is there also.Since this is on a seperate monitor undocked, there is no issue with track IR.
  9. This was a fantastic idea. I have been playing around with the Wilco 737 and moved the overhead panel to the touchscreen. So much more enjoyable flipping those switches with the touch of a finger rather than bring up the panel, clicking the mouse and all.I have spent the last two days moving panels and switches over to the touchscreen! Love it! Now i'm looking for some minature plunger buttons in order to attempt making an FMC front panel that makes contact with the touchscreen.
  10. Just get yourself some of the heavy duty velcro, put it on the desk and under the yoke base. Not permanant, and better than hassling with the clamps all the time.
  11. What does it matter? Any amount of piracy is too much! Whether it brought down the company or not, it was still robbing PSS of the dollars they deserved for time spent on fantastic add ons. Then the pirates having the nerve to ask for help from the same company they ripped off? Gimme a break. There is only 2 groups, those who pay, and those who steal. No matter the reason someone had for pirating software, it is stealing and ripping off people who keep this hobby strong and fresh.Come on by my house, steal my TV and say you just want to try it out before you buy it. We'll see if you make it out the front door......I don;t care what group your in, your still gonna be hurting.
  12. I personally feel that nickle and dime changes to a flight sim and charging for them are a slap in the face of those spending hours doing the same thing and contributing for free. With E-Commerce being more accesable to everyone, we are probably going to see the trend increase. I think those that are deciding to charge for their contribution should actually evaluate the value to the sim and the community. Will the average Joe spend 20 euros for grass, or keep looking and spend that 20 euros on a new aircraft. Which one gives you more for your money, and which one is just grass......$5us for grass, yea sure, i'll pay for that. But I will be afraid of the next $5 add on......new tire smoke - $5? Sun flare - $5? Water Texture - $5?
  13. Animals, moving ships make a sim an action game? Sounds to me like it is simulating an environment, with ships and animals included. Perhaps if FS had an arcade flight model, weapons and a WASD interface, I could see it as an action game. IL2 is a sim, but with action. Simulating the action of a WW2 dogfight. I think the genre you are looking for is First Person shooter, which FS is no where near.
  14. I thought the problem was also the fact that the plane was FS9.I went and removed the 2D main panel from the 737 PIC, which always brough my rig to a crawl at large airports. Once I removed the panel though, the VC panning is much smother as well as framerates in general. No matter, for the future, unless I need a 2D main panel, I will be removing them from the panel.cfg for every aircraft.
  15. I think the stock Mouse pan is holding down the spacebar.http://www.fsliners.net/portal/html/images/fsluserbar.jpg
  16. I believe there is a payware program called FSX Pilot that has an MP3 playing capability.
  17. It would be nice if there were someone else that would venture to confirm what I saw when messing with the 2D panel of an aircraft. Here is the story:I was trying to get POSKY's ERJ-145 to work in FSX. I started by first modifying the VC gauges so they were displayed properly. Once this was done, I took her up for a quick flight and noticed that the VC did not provide functionality for the A/P.With this, I decided to also install the 2D panel. I normally never use the 2D panel, in any flight, on any aircraft, but here I had to make an exception for the A/P, light etc. I opted for an easy quick fix and simply imported the Lear 45 2D panel, which would work for what I needed it for. Once this was done, I took her back up for another flight to make sure everything was functioning. Before I even got to that point though, I noticed that my framerate had dropped considerably. Interesting
  18. The profile that I use is a little altered from the default for Track IR. The changes made make it easier to see the overhead panel and pedestal without to much effort. I can go as far as completley looking under the panel and still not have my head totally out of whack.I also found that TIR pause on the middle mouse button works fantastic. Since the only time I reach for the mouse is when I need to push a button, I can now pause it in the same motion in case my head moves the arrow off of the hot point.I also continue to use the F7 assignment for the finer head movements during takeoffs and landings.TIR has been the the most immersive purchase I have made for flight simming. There is not a second I am flying when I am not using it.
  19. I think it's crap that there are no add ons for FS11. I mean come on! It'll be out in a few years, and what can I download for it....nothing! Another poorly supported flightsim.I did find an awsome tweak to get good FPS without having to upgrade my 5 year old computer though:Run_at_9k_FPS=TrueFinally I can max it out without upgrading!
  20. I am flying with FSX and trying to set up a second monitor. The difference with this is that the second monitor is a small touch screen running at a resolution of 800x600 while the main monitor is at 1280x1024. The second monitor is hooked into the same video card as the primary (Nvidia 7950GT) using the second video out plug. The problem is, when I am in FSX full screen mode, FSX seems to adjust the active area of the smaller touchscreen. The Aircraft I am using with this is the Wilco 737 PIC. When I attempt to bring up the overhead panel and drag to the second monitor, the touch screen is out of alignment and the active viewable area is changed. From the Nvidia control panel I have the 2 monitors set up as dual view, like 2 seperate desktops. What do I need to do to keep FSX from changing the second monitor, the touchscreen.
  21. try pulling your logbook.bin file out. Then start FSX, should start up just fine.
