HiMy pc had a major problem and I had to format it over the weekend.When I tried to reinstall the As6.5 from my backup external hard drivethe AS6.5 installs ok but when I run it I get an error message.Could you please help and suggest what do I need to do.Many thank.Qas.sorry I can't remember the error message-I have removed AS6.5 form the system.

Hi everyoneI am trying to understand the autopilot options in the level d 767and pmdg.I was wondering if some one would be kind and help me undersatnd thevarious 'cats' and when do you use them.Also in a previous thread there was mention of real world pilots preferring to choose manual landings.Could you please tell me what height would you switch autolanding to off-and would you switch auto throttle off at the same time or later.I have tried manual landings and I find it very difficult to maintainlanding speeds.I seem to either under or over shoot the speeds.Do real pilots switch auto throttle off just before touch down?Many thanks for your help.Qas

Hi EveryoneCan soembody please explain to me the following:Why is flying at high altitudes (39000ft etc) regarded more economical.I normal stick at 30000ft in the pmdg 744 and can manitain air speeds around 315When I try at 39000ft the air speed falls to around 280.The planes nose is slightly raised-I think due to lower amounts of air.So why would flying at higher altitudes be more efficient.Looking forward to your help.Qas

Mnay thanks to all of you-I usally fly the 747pmdg on short hauls and it does go up like a rocket even when derated-sometimes as high as 4000+fpm.I will follow above advise and fly manually until higher up and thanuse vnav lnav.Qas

Hi everyoneCould some one please tell me what is a realistic cliam rate after take off.I some time clock as much as 4000ft and have to struggle to keep it below with something like 747 pmdg-even with autothrust on.And also at what height do you start to level to the 1000-2000 rate.Many thanks for reading this and helping-I hope you will -:0Qas

Make sure you are taxiing to the correct runway (don't laugh, I've been there ). 'Use the RC position status line as a guide'.HiCould you please tell me how to do the above to get to the right runway-I use RC and am always having problems getting to the runway-the compassheading are very difficult to follow.Mnay thanks Qas

Hi everyoneMy fs9 starts up ok.It runs ok with the selected airport.The problem starts when I change the time and season-the sim starts to load up and at about 15% it crashes to desktop.I have not installed anything new,I have not messed about with any settings etc.I have deleted the fs9.config and the problem remains.Can somebody please advise what the problem could be and how to resolve it-a friend has suggested a fresh reinstall but this sound too painful-I have about 20 addons and I would be grateful for the help to sort the problem without reinstall.looking forward to your help-PleaseQas

HiI was using as6.5 for a while with no problems-until few weeks back when I had to reinstall everything.After setting up everything again I am having problems with setting up cloud layers-before I used to get clouds at various altitudes-and therewere many of them.Now I only get clouds at an altitude of 3000ish and nothing above -could somebody please remind me what I need to do to get good layersof clouds at different attitudes.Also I had managed to get rid of the low level haz layer-I need help with that to.Qas

HiCan somebody please help me with understanding the fmc progress sceen 2-where the 3 different readings for the winds are shown.The setting is like this h/wind wind x/wind 13K 270/20 R 15ktI understand the middle reading-it's the current wind direction/force.I am confused about the left and right hand readings.Are these values for the landing runway-if so than how can you have headon wind and a x wind present at the same time?Looking forward to your help.Qas

HiI used one of these for few days and than very quickly packed it up andit's still sitting on the shelf.The problem I had with it was the plane would never stay in a straight line when taxing-even with the sensitivity and null zone reduced to zero.It was good fun in air-the joystick fights back on making a turn etc-great.Unless mine is faulty I think force feed is too sensitive for fs9 for taxing.Qas

Hi JimThanks for the reply.I have re-installed a number of times and the same message comes-I have noticed that in the ini. file there is no fs path.I see ***instead.I have tried to type the fs9 path as F: .....,but it won't accept.Could this be the problem and if so what format should I insert the path?Looking forward to your suggestion.Qas

HiI had to do a complete re-install recently of all my fs files-everything works ok except as6.5,it loads ok but on start up I get the attached error message.Can somebody please help me with it and tell me what to do.Many thanks.Qas

Hi MartinI think you should be very very happy with that level of FR with your machine-I have got pentium 3.4e,3gig ram and ati x800xti 256 card and I get 11/12 frames at egll with pmdg 744-how do you think I feel.I have re-installed 4 times and i still have the same-however in a generic fs9 747 I can get 24/25 frames .My sliders are about same level as you.I have been told cpu tempareture can a play a part????Don't know how that will matter.Qas :-O

HiCould someone please tell me how do you find the above info when flight planning.I use radar contact 4 and it requires landing runway at setup-I normally choose the one in my flight direction-but the winds can be from any directions.As most rc4 user know rc4 does not offer alternate runway in favourof wind directions.Hopefully prior wind knowledge will help me choose the appropiate runway at destination airport.Qas :-0

Hi 'a payware version of FSUIPC will allow you to control (ie, slow) the speed of wind and direction changes. i use this with much success'Will this allow you to reudce/or even cancel wind direction/forceat 3000ft and below with real weather settings.The reason I ask is that I like to fly in real weather settings but landings are a nightmare-if above option was possible thanI can set the landing winds at reasonable level.Please let me know what's possible and if so how do I do it in theFSUIPC.Qas
