  1. Hi guys.I know I am "late" for this. Bur I have come across this problem lately at SKCL. I have been trying to find a fix for it, but this is the only site I could come up with.Problem is, the file doesn´t seem to exist any more. i get an 404 error message. I would be very greatful if anyone could upload this fix again.ThanksJoker
  2. I had the exact same issue a couple of monthe ago. Did not do anything to the system and one day... boom it was there.I asked around for help and what helped me, is to just copy the original .fx files back! That did it. BUT, I also happen to have a Laptop. I installed FSX on it and then copied the files over, avoiding the reinstall or "repair" function since I guessed it would mess other installed add ons up. Hope I could help.13
  3. Hi Mattias. Many very good explanations in here, so I will assume that you know what a SID/STAR is. I am actually at the office, so bare with me as I am going to make up SID/STAR and FIX names (for simplicity sake). I use FSCommander but you can use any flight planning tool for it. Let it generate a (high altitude) flight plan without inserting any SID/STAR. Now look at your first waypoint or fix in that flightplan and lets say it's KONAN and you are departing to the west. Now look up all available SIDs for your airport. You only will need those taking you out to the west, so that will eliminate a few. You will also see that there are "similar" SIDs depending on your runway but will get you to the same point. Lets say you have runways 9R-27L and 9L-27R. You will notice the "similar" SIDs. Lets name them 9R=ABBY1.KONAN1A, 27L=ABBY2.KONAN2A, 9L=ABBY4F.KONAN1C, 27R=ABBY4G.KONAN4C. My point here is that there usually is a SID that always takes you to the same inital FIX. (If there is none to, in this example, KONAN, look up the closest one to your route and modify your flight plan). Write those SIDs down. FSCommander can export flight plans to PMDG, thats why I said don't include SIDs/STARs in it. Now you are at your gate, load the flight plan into your FMC. Listen to ATC and your clearance. Ground will tell you "... taxi rnw 27R...". And now you know which SID to use 27R=ABBY4G.KONAN4C. Insert it into your FMC and you are done. Same thing applies for your STAR!!!I hope, I could help you out a little bit. This is how I do it.Greetings and have funJito13
  4. Well, I checked my files in the effects/texture folder. And while all files in the effects folder were accounted for, almost all files in the texture folder were missing. God knows why! So, I went ahead and installed fsx on my second pc and copied the textures back to my original installation and now everything is fine again. This really is a difficult solution and only applies for people who have a second pc and don
  5. Thanks for your swift reply.I will try to fool around a little bit when I get home. Maybe install fsx onto my laptop and take the files from there. It is really annoying since this just appeared like over night! I didn
  6. Well, guys, add me to the team.I have the exact same problem. Black contrails showing up as squares. Exactly as in the picture of kbpilot5 and Billster8724. Can somebody point out as to which effect files are to be substituted? I am no guru with these things and I really don't want to mess it up even more. I really would like to evade a new install or repair, since I got some 3rd party addons installed that are working prettey nicely, besides the contrails. Thanks to anybody for some help. Jito.

  8. >By conjecture, I would assume from your statement, "I really>like that plane", that you have a 757 from somebody.>>In the event that you have the CS757????>>The LDS-767 panel installed in the base model Captain Sim 757>aircraft makes for a pretty dandy bird, FMC and all. In the>event that you have these two, you might give that some>consideration.>>Good luck:>RTHHi RTH.I have both. The LDS-767 and the CS 757.I tried this some time ago without success. I would really like to give your sugestion a go. Would you mind telling us how this is accomplished? Thanks for your info!JAS
  9. Hi there.I had a similar problem just yesterday. This one involving Ultimate traffic and MyTrafficX. I installed UT and did not like it, uninstalled it again and went back to MT. And suddenly NO AC at all. After fumbling around with the faq, I sudenly had NO terrain textures at all. All was black. What helped me,to go back to where all was fine (without installing FSX all over again) was to uninstall SP2 and then install it again. After the first start FSX would tell me an ERROR in some DAT file (can
  10. Thanks to everybody for the enlightment.I kind of suspected it would be like that.O well, since obviously there is no problem with activation, I will install it on both. Thanks againJ
  11. Hello everybody. I am fairly new to this.I have been reading enough on this great forum to start thinking about installing FSX. Currently I am still on FS9, but I have everything together (FSX,SP1,..).My question is: since I have a dual boot-system, I would like to know, if I can install FSX, say in XP and be able to run it from within VISTA. Or the other way around. If I install it on VISTA, can I run from XP? I post this question because I really don
