I am haveing 2 problems with the 747 x latest version. I cant see any post here suggesting anyone else is having the same problems so i have tried a clean re install of the product but still the same result.problem 1this is somthing that i think i was aware of before the last patch regarding heading select autopilot mode. i noticed that during any adjustments that i make to the heading select button on the MCP the yokes would shake eraticaly as long as i held the mouse clicked over it and the bug is moving left or right . as soon as i relesed the hdg button the shaking ceases. If i make adjustment to the heading before the aircraft has reached it full banking angle , the shaking would affect the stability of the aircraft too causing the whole plane to shake with the yokes naturaly, also the aircraft would almost stop continiung to reach its full bank angle untill the heading bug is released. as soon as i stop adjusting normal behaviour is resumedsomething to do with the heading bug adjustment is interfearing with the smoothness of the banking and the yokes. i wondered if there is some kind of cammand conflict occuring here with left and right mouse clicks . i have fs2creww installed for the 747 x aswell but the problem persisted even after i uninstalled that. i have disconected my joystick tried a new mouse in case these were interfearing but no changeProblem 2this concerns the selection of a star in the fmc. If i select any star prior to approach and execute it causes havoc with the flight plan causing legs pages to appear again that have long since been passed and the aircraft tries to turn back 180 degrees and fly the waypoints again. This happens each end every time , i have been forced to select heading hold and delete all the passed waypoints in order resume lnav Somthing is very wrong here , i dont want to say its a bug or two because everyone would have seen the same behaviour so im lost as what could be the causeif anyone has any suggestions or has seen the same thing please let me knowthankskav

the steps i am using start wide fs. start asx, allow it to load and send weather as it does, configure the weather in the wx config page, apply weather.i have tried clearing all weather via fs and fsuipce aswell before applying in asx but still the same issuekavan -

Jimi am using that version and i have sent you an emailkavan -
helloi am having problems getting asx weather in to the sim accurately depicted when generated from the wx configeration page of asxthe real world down loads seem fine but when i create the weather my self its just not sending what i have in asx to the sim appart from perhaps one in 5 tries and i will see a vague reflection of the wx config after some time but many inaccuracies , like qnh way off no turbulance and cloud layers missing and wind directions not changedi am using it over a network and heve even tried to clear all weather via fsuipc first before sending asx weather but no luckkav

thwnks i appreciete the detailed answersall i was trying to get at was the fact that from the videos etc etc i have seen from he flight decks on many long haul flights they seem to be able to land with in 1000 or 2000 lbs of their predicted landing fuel. and they planned it that way based on the wind at each waypoint from a forcast and it seems pretty accuratei hear what you are saying that to get this in fsx it would be so complex that it cant happen , all i assumed was that if asx can accurately tell me what is happenening in the snapshot and i turn off dynamic changes then in theory things should remain the same for the whole flight and fuel planning should then be accurate. Unfortunately the problem seems to be that asx briefing does not seem to be able to accurately grab the wind data from the sim or the download it does not appear accurate even with smooting options offthat was all i was afterthankskav -

I see you used fraps but how did you make the recording regarding the different views? did you repeat the take off to get the exterior an interior views or did you record it from a flight video made in fs?the reason i ask is becuase in my experience the fs recording facility is so poor that i cant use it in that way, it jumps stutters and will not record advance aircraft animation sach as those in the pmdg like flips and other thingsthankskav -
i have the latest patch version installed some of these issues were pre existing others only after the patchpre existing1. when flying in heading select if i make adjustment during the turn to the heading via the hdg delect it has a nast effect on the smoothness of the turn causing the aircraft to judder and stutter in its banking , if the adjustment is being made before the aircraft has reached it full bank angle then it almost stops banking untill i released the hdg select then smooth and the full angle of banking opperation is resumed , try it you will see 2. unable to enter hdg select once land three is active on the approach I dont know if this is airline specific but watching my oasis hongkong dvd apprach in to gatwich , atc give the captain vectors for spacing after the aircraft is fully establish in land three. The captain simply ajusts the correct heading via hdg select button and pushes it and the autopilot switches from land three , the 2nd and 3rd autoplilot light extinguish but the third remains and the autopilot stay engaged but switches to hdg select mode no alarm or ap disenguaged during the switch. I tried this on my approach with my 747 x and i was not able to disenguage land three at all unless i disenguaged the autopilot and re enguaged hdg select after the patches3.entering runways selection and sids caused havoc with the flight plan opon execution a few hundred miles from landing. once i tried to enter a sid in to the fmc via depp arr page and runway the aircraft veered off the flight patch in the fmc 108 degrees . the sid had tried to plant it self in to the active page of the fmc causeinf majenta lines to appear paralell to the origional track all the way back from the sid to present position , i was then unable to delet lines in the legs page do direct to's to cut out the damage or any of the old trick ending up with fuel warning and a messed up plan. when i treid to repair parts of the plan via distant waypoints in the legs page it would not accept them , and when i treid to cut out discontinuaties it would not let meim not new to the workings of this aircraft but have never had the difficulties mentioned in point 3 beforeall is not well kav

here is an examplethe black small ones in the square pattern that appear in front are actually miles away and the cumulus are right close by yet appear behind the distance clouds?http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/189061.jpgkav -
hi fii have seen this issue ever since the first version of activsky and that is cloud that are further away appearing on front of clouds that are close. usually its those horrible dark streky ones that are far away that show in front of the fluffy cotton wool cumulus is there any way of stopping that horrible effectthankskav

now i know this is asking a bit much but surely in real word when a pilot plans say a 12 hour flight he checks the wind at each waypoint. now lets say waypoint 20 for example wont be reached untill 10 hours in to the flight what is the point in him calculating the fuel based on the wind date for that point taken in the snapshot he has in front of him at the time ,unless the snapshot takes in to account the dynamic changes and is prediction the wind at each point based on the approximatee time the aircraft will pass that point not the currant conditions unless no changes are forcast for the entire duration of the flight, or the predicted changes are minimal and not worth accounting fortherefore in asx unless i switch of dynamic change then there is realy little point in using the briefing to get accurate wind data for a long flight like this as the conditions will have probably changed by the time the aircraft gets there to some far of waypoint?kav -

thanks for the detailed info the only thing that both of you said here that puzzles me is about refreshing the briefing or getting updates from other aircraft, all i was interested in was getting as accurate info as possible information before take of for fuel planning. There is no need or point in refreshing the briefing as once airborne it is too late to load more fuel. to me that is no different to reading the info from the fmc and pnd about the winds im actually flying through, useless realy in regard to fuel planning.sory both i was not trying to pick holes in what is a great progrem but just want to try and achieve somthing close to realistic fuel planning buy determining the winds in order to assertain the additional wind distance if mainly a head wind and so far ive been way off based on reading from the brief but i will try and tweak things as you have suggested to get a balancethankskav -

im confused ........how can it nuetralize the shift if it does not modify the wind speed or direction, that is simply not possible surely if the briefing read sthe real weather download as it is then anything you alter after that weather wise in the sim will cause there to be a difference in the brief there for both smooting and stabilization should cause this problemyou mention dynamic weather too does this mean that what ever the briefing snapshot is at the time its taken by the time you reach that waypoint if say its hours away the wind s there will be different anyway dispite having smooting and stabilization unchecked?all i want to know is how can i achieve the same data accuratly in the briefing that is in the sim , simple as that? how ?thankskav -

>Hi,>>The Wind Data Smoothing Option will in fact modify the data,>so in this case, please try with that option Off.>>Thanks,>Jimwell i understand that smoothing will modify the actual wind in the sim and the direction too but what i am seeing is stronger winds in the sim than in the briefing? so surely even if the actual winds in the sim are altered then the report should reflect those changes i dont understand what the point is otherwise. To me there is no point in the data in the report just bieng alterd if the winds in the sim are notwhy can ASX not smooth the sim out then read the resulting winds to put in the briefing? what is the point in an innacurate briefing at all but you cant do with out the smoothing so u are stuck either way?kav -

Despite the service pack the wind directions and speeds just are not consistantly accurate in the briefing compared to the actual sim. I am flying the plan but at each waypoint the wind speed and wind hdg are significantly off on the majority of points, this is causing havoc with my fuel calculations which i base on the wind derived from the the sim by the asx briefingkav

those gauges are hard coded in to the VC i dont believe there is anyway of changing them except by the developer who would have to re write the code, its not like altering a 2d , that is my understanding anywaykav
