  1. Mike I also am running the ultra wide setup, although mine is eyefinity not the nvidia based system, but anyway you mentioned: That should fix the 2d pop ups popping up ultra wide, correct? I didnt have any of the courser issues but I'm sure I will if I keep using it, I only used the FMC pop up last night. Richard Glatter btw Didnt I see a while back that you were working on a flow checklist for the NGX? How is that coming?
  2. I totally agree about your impressions I have the same feelings. I loved hand flying this plane, the last plane I've hand flown that acted this, how can I describe it, right, or correct, in just everything especially trimming it out and it holding in trim, only plane I can compare it to is well, no FS plane, it compares to the real world flying I've done. Flown cherokee 180 and tomahawk no big planes but it still is the same kind of feel. Really amazing job PMDG, can't wait to really put this plane through its paces this weekend.

I got it purchased and installed but as of now 9:15 PM CST I can't activate it in game...will try it a few more times.
  4. Not to hijack or anything, but it is a long these same lines, A lot of people say saitek yoke is better, I have the CH and wonder weather it would be worth it to switch. I have the CH yoke and pedals no throttle but would love to get one and might before the NGX comes out. My only problem with the CH is both the yoke and pedals have a little bit of a zone in the middle that you dont really get any response in and then there is a notch kind of feel then you start to get response, not just smooth right when you start moving it, that is both with the yoke and pedals and on the yoke it is both elevator and aileron controlls. does the saitek have that or is it smooth even right at the beginning? Thanks for any advice.Richard GLatter
  5. Saw those posts earlier and yea that was tough to see. Personally I will be buying both aircraft just to compare them myself and different planes for different times. You all are doing a great job and I love that you all don't allow anyone else to interfere with what you are doing. The other aircraft has a known bug on release and will take them 3-4 weeks to fix they said but they wanted to get it out to everyone, PMDG would not do that which IMHO is the right way to do things. Take your time as I know you all will and release the best add on aircraft any of us have ever seen.Richard Glatter
  6. Personally I hope this is the case but right now, I do not want to know that, That is a really big feature and would be a great surprise to see on release day.Richard Glatter
  7. About the SNJ, My grandfather has one been up in at few times, have not been able to fly it though :( Dont have a tailwheel endorsement. Nothing like the sound of a radial engine.I am very impressed with the NGX so far, those videos are awesome and the liveries are great. I cant wait to fly it, Great work so far guys and looking forward to seeing more of this amazing aircraft!!Richard Glatter
  8. I doubt it will be released today but I do think in the next couple of weeks or so. Probably the middle of the month. And I know that they have said they would announce beta, but I am beginging to question that due to all of this posts about final testings and things like that.Richard Glatter
  9. um...wow that is a big deal. that sounds awesome. The potential to never having to go to an FS menu to set things up.Richard Glatter
  10. Thanks for the update Robert, very much looking forward to the release whenever it may be.( I think with no solid evidence middle to late April) I have my new system built and just waiting for this fantastic aircraft to make it complete.
  11. I really appreciate all the updates that PMDG has provided in the past about the NGX it really is going to be a monumental aircraft for FSX and flight sim, especially with what they have shown us so far. Thanks guys from PMDG all of this hard work is really paying off from what I can see so far.As for everyone wanting an update that was talked about, things happen life happens, if they cant post an update so what, we have gotten a ton more info so far than most developers give out, begging for an update and then slamming them when they dont give one is not cool. They are already going above and beyond and I know I am very appreciative of it.Robert, hope you and your daughter get well soon!!
  12. sorry for the double post,I looked at my ATI driver settings, and everything was turned up max in there, max AA and everything, I turned it down to all middle settings, not lowest and not max and it helped A LOT. Still not perfect but it helped a lot.Weird thing though, with those settings in the middle I tried very dense in a thunderstorm on both settings and everything was as smooth as sparse, which is very very strange but it worked.I am happy with what I have so far from 5 min of testing, I will try a flight later on today and see how it goes.Still if anyone has any ideas on improving things a bit more I would love to hear it.
  13. Yea trimwheel I wouldn't worry I know its probably some setting I have, or possibly the ATI card that is causing all of my problems.Did some more testing trying the things everyone recommendedThe DXT settings were already on in REX, I had to check to verify but they were checked.Storage: Realized I totally forgot to post that in my specs, OS drive is a 128 GB Crucial SSD and FS is installed on a 500 GB 7200 RPM SATA 3 Drive, everything is a fresh install just got it all installed Friday. I have not run a defrag on the drive but I will try that.Affinity Mast: Was set at 224, that was from bojotes online tool that set that, I put it at 14 as confirmed the correct number on nickn's post.I did try it on a single monitor and was not impressed it was still very stuttery and not smooth.I did install the shadermod 3.0 last night with no change at all.If anyone has any other ideas I would love to hear them, the budget cant take a new video card at the moment :( Thanks alot for everyone's help so far!!
  14. thanks for the advice on that tool, it did help alot. I also did some more testing on a few diffrent things and here is what I found.REX 2.0 textures with the good weather, few clouds makes no diffrence in FPS.Thunderstorms which is what I was flying in tonight the entire trip ATL to MEM, happens to be a line of storms the entire way there, causes massive FPS hits. Only way to keep somewhat the same FPS is to drop scenery complexity and autogen density to sparse, and that keeps the same FPS or simmilar actually still a little worse than clear as above with very dense on both. With that realization, which I had no idea weather would effect things THAT much, and some other testing and that great autotweak tool I am very happy now. I also did the external frame locker the shader mod from the same guy bojote and it helped alot. Thanks a lot for those tools bojote. Thanks for your help also cmpbellsjc.
  15. Hello Everyone,I just got my new build finished for my computer, got a 2600K overclocked at 4.6 GHz stable, and been flying a bit today and I am a little dissipointed with the FPS and jumpieness I am getting.First off, specs:2600K @ 4.6 GHZATI 5770 (I know not good but:) at 5400x1040 or whatever the res is, very high 3 wide monitors8 GB RAMFS installed on a 7200 RPM sata 3 drive.Add ons:REX 2.0 with clouds at 1024FSX settingsEverything about middle except scenery density which is at dense. including AI traffic at 50% everything else off.I have gone through NickNs recomendations and gone back from there and now at these settings with not much changeI am getting around on average flying and on ground 6-15 FPS with some spikes of up to 20-25 especially in the air. The last straw was I was taxiing out of ATL and was getting 6 FPS and very jumpy not smooth at all.Does anyone have any advice especially for this setup? I have seen rave reviews of this setup with the 2600k and I am just not getting the performance that others are getting. Is it my eyefinity that is screwing me up? Or REX maybe? Thanks a lot for any help you can offer.
  16. you should only get a sata 3 drive to take full advantage of that motherboard, not sure if you will see that much difference in fsx but im sure there would be some. Basically the sata 3 gets faster read times than sata 2 and your board supports that. Id recommend a sata 3 7200 RPM drive but that may be a little over 100 depending on the size you get.
  17. great summary of all the threads I have not been following the development closely but great way to catch up.One question I have and maybe someone can answer it in theory at least since I know it hasnt released and apparently is not in beta as of now but is the FMC/CDU actively modeled in the VC or is it like the level d where it can be undocked? Main reason I ask is I am planning on using the FMC with my ipad and airdisplay as a virtual FMC and to do that the FMC/cdu needs to be undockable.Great work on the NGX so far I'm sure the developers are very proud of what has been done so far and I cant wait to see more information about it and finally get it on my sim!Richard Glatter
  18. Hello there everyone,I am still having some issues with ASX FSUIPC FSX and the infamous wind shifts. I have almost got it all fixed with registered FSUIPC and ASX but still have some random problems which im sure are the most difficult ones to fix. I am also having a few issues with the winds in FSX being different from ASX.I am wondering if ASA has improved this at all.I read through the faq and there is a question that mentions this: What is DWC and DVC?Would this DWC and DVC combined with registered FSUIPC be the best solution? or is that trying to do the same thing just a different way?Good Luck with your launch of this new software in the very near future, and thanks for any insight you can offer.
  19. Interesting that the planes cause the sensitivity issues. With your suggestion of FSUIPC is there any specific settings that you recommend? or some place you could point me to figure out what will work best for me?
  20. just saw your reply right as I was about to type mine,I went ahead and flew the flight, I did half of it with the historical weather from eairler and the other half with real weather online updates.I did not have as many major wind shifts.I actualy only had 1 that had a visible effect on the aircraft. There were a few shifts(2-4) of just around 10-15 degrees but not many. I did not write them down this time. This is a major change from above.I used the default 737-800.Just speculating, could the aircraft I use have something to do with the wind shifts?
  21. I was flying another flight when you replied from KBNA to KMCO in the same CRJ-200ER and only had 4-5 shifts, they also were not huge shifts like before. I do not have any heading numbers on the shifts.I will fly the flight again from KDSM to KORDI also should mention I am on real world weather. Should I try and find and download the same weather from earlier today so we can rule out the airplane as being an issue?
  22. I decided to write down some of the wind-shifts I got for a period in my flight just to see how many and what directions they shift from. Here are my notes. Also note I used the recommended settings above.270 to 170 at 45 knots instant shift196 to 172 instant shift at 46 knots170 to 288 instant shift at 43 knotsall within 2 min of each otherAfter seeing this I decided to in my cruise take a few min and just write down every shift in a few min period. 18:17 was the sim time. This was on a route from KDSM to KORD in my VA's CRJ-200ER with the skydecks panel which is where I got the headings and wind speed from.18:17215 to 290 instant shift at 42 knots288 to 320 instant shift at 42 knots236 to 251 instant shift at 46 knots256 to 175 instant shift 175 to 008 instant shift caused overspeed008 instant shift to 080080 back to 008 instantback to 080 all in a period of 20 seonds18:21170 to 240 instant shift on decent240 to 080 instant shift on decent071 to 134 instant shift120 to 209 instant209 to 310 instant18:24All of winds were ranging from 40 knots to 50 knotsI also got minor wind shifts as well gradual changes like you would normally get outside just the wind gradually changing directions. This was also not all of the wind shifts that I had but just the ones that I wrote down. It was all that I had in that time period.
  23. Jim,At first before I just tried clicking buttons everything was off and I was still having the issues. They are definitely in level flight, it usually is only a problem while in cruise. I am using the skydecks CRJ-200 panel and it has a picture of where the wind is coming from and the speed and as soon as the plane starts to change directions drastically and bump around the wind shifts from say 270 to 320, I have noticed that I usually do not get the huge 180 degree shifts but 45-90 degree shifts is the majority of them.It is not with the default planes I am using a CRJ-200ER provided by my virtual airline. I have flown around 20 hours in this plane and these wind shifts have happened quite often.I usually do not fly default aircraft. Thanks a lot for the help.I will confirm the settings you recommended before I fly again tomorrow, just to make sure that it does or does not help.
  24. Hey everyone,I have been using ASX for a while now and I love it, it is great I have used it exclusively since I got it. I upgraded to SP3 to hopefully solve this problem but I am still having one nagging problem and is causing major problems especially recently. It is the dreaded drastic wind shifts.I am flying right now and in this flight from KTYS to KORD I have had huge winds usually around 80 knots, only problem is they are not staying consistent. They are changing from Headwinds to tailwinds and coming off the right side of the nose instantly switching to the left side which causes me to get knocked off course and the autopilot has to go nuts to fix it.In the biggest push the wind shift from left nose to right nose wind a few times within a few seconds and put me into a 45 degree bank and pushed me a mile off course. This causes major problems.Im sure as most of you know FSpassengersX will be coming out hopefully soon these major wind-shifts and overspeed warnings that you get as result of the major wind-shifts will really screw up your scores.I have looked around and I cant find a definite answer as to what will work to fix it, I have tried using the FSUIPC settings(I have purchased it) as well as the weather smoothing in ASX. Nothing seems to help.I would greatly appreciate any advice.
