There will never be GLOWING reviews from any product.....people react in different ways and for every positive review you will have 5 negative reviews...fact of life. I will try the demo first, emphasis on ( I ). If the demo sucks it will show.Personally I think Microsoft is downplaying the hype until the release. How many times have we heard about a new product so much and got so excited over it and after its out you say #####?, that's it? especially true with movie sequels

There has been a lot of nonsensical "speculative" talk about Flight from the first screenshot and it has not stopped. Although everyone is entitled to their opinion I prefer a more educated opinion based on some fact. Like an official announcement from Microsoft.I for one will be purchasing Flight after the completion of my new pc build, which I have set money a side for the past year or so.I read people saying that there will be only Hawaii scenery for Flight. where do you come up with this stuff? You really think, a company like Microsoft who brought us....well many of us any way, from ms 1.0 to FSX improving with every release, will make a disastrous move like building a simulator with only one area? If that were true, then they should also change their catch phrase from "as real as it gets" to "as stupid as it gets" then might as well close shop and turn off the lights.I will be probably purchasing Flight and also XP-10. they both have great features which i enjoy.

I am running the demo with limited glsl which is smooth but not much to see other then the aircraft it self. What really concerns me though is how difficult it is to keep flying smooth. From take off its already all over the runway and as soon as I am wheels up the airplane starts to bank with no input from me and then I find it very dificult to keep it flying straight. Is this how the x planes physics are normally or do I need to adjust something in the settings. I've been flying FSX since the 80's and never had this much trouble controlling the plane even with moderate winds. To me that would be the deal breaker. I don't think a real airplane would be so uncontrollable. Anyone experience the same problem?

I think to truly appreciate the current simulators available now both FSX and X plane 10 people need to have flown the first version of Microsoft flight simulator. All we had were lines and a pretty bad flight model. If we compare that to what is available today we would not be complaining now. X plane 10 cost $80 today where we paid 50 bucks for fs9, fs2000 ect,. and if you compare those graphics to today, I think you would see more "realism" today. Fortunately though we are all free to chose what looks best to us and there is no reason to degrade microsoft or Xplane to drive your point. There are hard working people involved on both sides trying their best to bring us closer to reality as possible. The only way we will all agree on reality if we fly for real. So just enjoy what we have and keep both companies working to improve our favorite sims.

I think it's safe to claim "the most realistic simulator to date" or at least until Flight comes out and then we will see.I have been flying Microsoft flight simulator since the days of polygons for buildings green for ground blue for sky and gray for runways. Both MSFS and XP are correct this is as real as it gets. XP10 in my opinion have earned the right to the realism claim....at least for now. I am planning to purchase both eventually.

I was having the same problem. I downloaded and installed new drivers and now it loads to the point where I am in the Cockpit of the 747 in full screen( love the look and the sound btw) I can see the lights in the distance of the airport and the runway i can see the sky with a few clouds. I I am unable to move the view and any key i hit does nothing. When I go to the top to open the menu bar, there is a long like more then a minute long pause before the menu shows up and no drop down menu for another 2-3 minutes the fps from my fraps on the corner shows 0. finally I have to control alt del. out of it. I can fly FSX and Xp9 pretty good with my 4 year old system. I send the log.txt and Crash.txt files to Laminar and they are looking it over. I hope they can find what the problem is.If my graphic card is no good then I have to wait until after new Years where I am in the plans for building a High End Gaming pc and then I hope xp10 will not be an issue.

I am having problems starting XP. It freezes after it starts loading the bitmap Heavy Metal/B747-400 United B747-400 prop_.png. and a white 1" rectangular box appears in the left bottom corner of the xp splash screen.Is it possible my video drivers need updating? I am running windows xp professional Intel core 2 quad CPU, @ 2.66, GHz 2.7 GHz2.99 GB of RAM and an ATI Radeon X1950 crossfire card.I have no problem running FSX loaded with add-ons. Any advise you may have will be greatly appreciated.
