  1. I hear ya brother.
  2. this thread..incredible..what do you think the next flight sim should be. I have had both Pro Pliots, all 3 flight unlimited. I have been using FS since around 1990. At this point allI care about is how fluid it will run..I don't need more eye candy. If its there, I'll take it. but it wont stop me from buying the next version. Give me a flight sim that will use the latest DX and dual cards and I'm happy. AND THAT does not mean I'm easy to please I occasionally use VATSIM, I have a flight deck in my office..goflight radio stack, over head switches, rudder pedals, yoke, throttle quadrant, track IR running 4 dell screens(with triple head to go), OBRX, PMDG, EAGLESOFT, AEROSOFT, REX, GTX UTX , and alot more..I just want fluid running ..thats all.
  3. I'm with you. If Microsoft flight did northing more than allow me to have all sliders to the right..full traffics, animation, addons like eaglesoft , PMDG, ORBX.. etc..I would buy it, and I would pay more for it. It would be nice if it was programmed for #D as well.
  4. my thoughts ..again..lol..whats is backward compatibility all about..lets think about this. From "my perspective" it involves add on software that enable MSFS(the franchise) to allow software developers to enhance what MSFS could not or did not want to do. besides the planes, most of us bought add ons to enhance the environmental like REX, UT, GEX, Shockwave 3D Lights REDUX, and a host of a lot more..and by the way. I owned all of these and a lot more. As I have stated before I'd rather not have to but add ons to enhance the environment and other utilities and but add ons like aircraft or airports. I also own a lot of product by Aerosoft, Eaglesoft, PMDG. I have Go flight products. basically a small flight deck. But I do remember this fact, I have been very fortunate to have the funds to make this experience possible, but a lot of people do not have or will not spend the money on our hobby the same way. Nor will they be buying a lot of add ons, they will not be spending money to upgrade their card let alone the motherboard or PC. I love this forum, but sometime we are like a bunch of grumpy o old men, that are consumed by our personal attachment to the past flight sim and expect it to stay that way for ever. Here is something to think about. Look what happened to pro pilot 1 & 2, how about flight unlimited 1, 2 3 (owned those as well).all with promise..all died..if MSFS, doesn't find a new model..if will die as well, just a matter of time. Now with that said, Aerosoft, ORBX, PMDG, and other major flight sim add ons will have a wider audience, more revenue more R & D..even better add ons..look how long it took REX to come out. I guarantee with a more centralized consumer their revenues will increase. Once I will say this again, if I have to buy some of my add ons in the future and add ons that our a bonuses..planes, cities, but have better performance, I'm all in. another example...electric cars, you know why most of them look sos ugly, not enough money put into battery technology, why not enough R&D ( no revenue), no electic converters in garages, no electric charging stations, but does that mean we don't try and build them...and this is coming from a man who has only owned German cars. I'm all for change. LETS JUST WAIT AND SEE!! and if this is truely your hobby like it is mine be less cynical and more positive, if it fails, guess what happens..NOT A DAMN THING we go back to FSX or FS9 and enjoy our hobbies like we have been.one last note..again.being an owner of a windows device.I thought it was pretty stupid for the iphone to have a market place in the beginning, thought it was just for teenagers to do something, spend a little bit of their allowance, .I have an android, and guess why..I have about 30 programs halve of which i payed for in the android market..lol
  5. I like that idea of a stores in major airports where you have the option of opening a new window and looking at a large selection of add ons.
  6. all I can say is WOW.. REALLY?, do we really think a market place will hurt Microsoft flight, a gaming product that has been around since the 80s. I bought MSFS back in the late 80s. I also owned a Casio boss for a PDA (lol).. I know own a Google phone and never could imagine I would have bought so many apps from the market place. why ? because i was exposed to it. it was easy to do. Before with my winmo 6 phone i would only buy what I was exposed to. Some of you old timers(i'm an Old timer..lol) are skeptical of change, but if there is no change and advancement MS will shut down this game division, you need to do what is necessary to bring in new blood, To this day people are still surprised by what my flight Sim can do( I have 4 monitors, goflight radio stack, overhead switches, rudders, throttle, yoke, a ton of Aerosoft add ons, PMDG, UTX, GTX, U terrain, and alot more, so trust me I know what I might loose), but when I tell them that, they want to see it, and those who currently have had FS9/MSFX, never knew it could do all that.. Like it was stated earlier, if you didn't know about these forums, you most likely didn't know about peripherals and software add ons. This is an over the shelf product , that is still hard to find and might have 1 or 2 aircraft add ons. Do you know how much Microsoft might be missing expecting people to go out of their way to research and find sites to buy add ons that they never knew existed. and as for the poor lol developers ..its called retooling folks, happens in the automobile industry all the time..look at the emergence of 3D movies, animators have to up their skills, but who wins, we do..better cars to better movies. at the end of the day , this is software. There will be smart developers that will make a ton of money. I have a friend that wanted to write software for Iphone, he saw the 3 inch thick book of what you need to know and passed...NEXT!!. the iphone is successful for one reason..APPS. I stated this in a previous post ( I have been on this forum for over 10 years, just never registered). If had to give up these addon for a smoother game. I would rather buy these add ons again vs. another 2500 upgrade to run the software. and though my products run MSFX ok, I would love better performance. Sorry about the ramble, but I had to add my 2 cents and $20...lol
  7. I hear ya, I would pay more, especially smooth frame rates, it would save me on upgrading my already good video card($400+), motherboard, cpu..maybe water cooling...oh yea, I would definitely pay more if I can keep my current , outdated system...lol
  8. LOL..let be honest before you swallow your words. If There is (big on the "if) a subscription based FSX that:Has realistic scenery(ORBX)realistic weather(REX)ATC , generated from either artificial or from a player(which would be another part of this game)airports and airport trafficweathercloudsaircraft updatedDynamic and animated objectsHigh resolution day- and night texturesPhotorealistic textures on buildings, vehicles, etc.Docking systemsTaxiways, apron with realistic rendered texturesHundreds of taxiway- and runway signs according to original plans.you gonna sit here and stick to your principal and refuse to pay , just on that. Let me explain something if MS can pull this off there will be ton of videos on youtube and once you see that, you be giving up that card or paypal account. And as far as where the money goes, get over that. I could care less where the money goes as long as I have a great product. I bet when you go to that nice restaurant , by that beer or wine, you don't ask that question. Enjoy you life, some people aren't as fortunate to have a hobby like ours. And as far as it being arcade, MS is not that stupid, they will bring in new blood and retain their client base. Now lets go FLYING
  9. EXACTLY!!! Here's my card..where do I sign up...LOL Great point, My friend races DP(Daytona Prototype) and most if not all the race drivers uses Iracing, formula 1 drivers have also used sims when there in re hab Not that you would read this book, but bill gates book "speed of thought" talks about this as well as many corporation, if you business model doesn't change and remain the same you're going backwards. going backward= out of business. Changing habits is a way off life..its called meeting the demand of the consumer..Google kinda getting this whole thing locked up.
  10. Hey I'm with you, its funny how people have actually bought or upgraded their system($1000 or more) like myself to run FSX of even FS9. I have probably bought over $2000(from REX, aerosoft products, Orbx, Flight1 products, etc) on all the add ons throughout the years and lets not forget about "triple head to go" to run my 3 LCDs, then theres my gofligh products, radio stack, overhead switches, etc. Oh, lets see , almost forgot my thottle controls, rudder pedals, yoke, and we are actually gonna bark at paying a monthly fee. We should look at it as I'll pay, but it better be damn worth it vs. " I have principles" if goes that directions I'll leave. Geez peopl.and FYI, I have been simming since 1988, have been on avsim and flightsim for over 5 years(all MSFS ,flight unlimited1 and 2 Pro pilot), just never posted much and finally registered here over a years ago.
