Not impressed at all

Featured Replies

Seriously all im seeing sofar is a patched FSX, im starting to believe this is just more or less a hoax to get some easy money from us. They shut down aces team because they screwed up FSX and apperantly didnt have a clue about what way hardware was going at the time. But now they are seeing others getting close to start making a new flightsim, so now they are getting cold feet and just updating FSX to run better, we all know FSX was completely unusable and a turnoff for an average gamer. The average gamer that bought FSX was so dissapointed with it, and i read all the game sites to i know, i seriously doubt any average gamer would take a chance with this again. Hardcore simmers dont care about this, but Microsoft were not making money on hardcore simmers, they made money on all those that bought a game not at all ready for release, and couldnt run on even the best computers. They screwed up so badly and now they think they can trick us in to buying it again.

That is your opinion. If FSX is so bad, then why do so many people use it and enjoy it. And why are there thousands of add-ons available for it. Yeah, really bad sim. :(

...and an opinion I don't share either. Generalized statements that're based not on facts but rather on "feelings" are totally useless. :(

I can't understand how you are not impressed at all, especially in regards to a software program that is still early in the development cycle. Unless of coarse you are just trying to provoke a reaction.Regards, Mike Mann

The thing that brings me so much amusement is the fact that people are hot to make statements like this based on very preliminary peeks of something that is still a very long way away. Frankly, that also applies to most of what I have seen in many other threads here. Maybe it's just me, but I've seen this show before :(

Sure a lot of negative can be said about FSX, but it is the best VFR flight simulator ever made, so until now, it's state of the art and as good as it gets.

I agree that what we have seen is not very impressive (compared to current FSX) and looks nothing more than a patched FSX.

When I bought FSX deluxe it cost me £18.99 from Amazon. Even with it's faults and bugs it is still an amazing experience that you can have for such a piddling amount of money. How anyone can complain I don't know. Also if it was so bad then why did Microsoft run out of Serial keys and have to reissue the product so that more keys could be produced. I think we all realise it has limitations not least in its performance. But if they get that sorted I'll be buying it even it is only an optimized update of FSX. From what I've seen so far in the screenies and video's it will be well worth waiting for.

Exactly! If the OP is not impressed at all he can spend $15 million on a full-motion simulator.

I'll admit, the very first screenshot didn't impress me at all. It was a bad one to send out the gate as a first. The rest, however, are just... wow. The thing that stands out for me is the vividness of the colors. I've never been one of the "They better have my house or it's garbage!" types; as long as it looks believable and the areas are reasonable facsimiles of their real world counterparts, I'll be happy. As for the sim as a whole, keep up with the graphics level we've seen, toss in a few more bells and whistles, like a more intelligent AI, and improve performance relative to current hardware, and I'll be quite impressed.

Are we really at that point on the calendar again? It comes around so quickly these days don't you think? :Nail Biting:Regarding the OP:It astonishes me that anyone can be so unimpressed that they feel the need to make a new topic stating such in one of the biggest flight sim forums on the net - and over what exactly? Some pre-release screenshots (that also happen to be pretty good)? seriously?Until Flight is released and people get a chance to actually use it first hand there is only one deserved response to illogical threads such as this:YAWWWWWN! :(

A patched version of FSX with doubled framerate performance, and compatibility with my existing addons would be perfect for me.....but I doubt Flight will be as simple as that.

I'd agree 100%, I got FSX Gold Edition for a piffling £17.99 from Play.com. I do tend though, to put the enormous amount of money it's taken to feed the beast, right at the back of my mind. Every so often the true cost raises it's ugly head and I sob gently. If my wife EVER found out..... :rolleyes:EDIT: The point I was going to make but forgot was, I've invested far too much money(and time and frustration :( ) in FSX to start over with Flight. I fly exclusively with FTX and from what I've seen so far, Flight doesn't look any better.
