  1. Yes, since the re-design of the front page and the forums the page load times have been noticeably slower for me as well. The file pages (not changed) load quickly. I use Firefox and perhaps something in the page design makes it render more slowly than others. Just an obsevation. G
  2. Any resolution to this problem yet? I have exactly the same thing happen Mark Beaumont's IFR panel as the first poster, also with windows XP and FSX Acceleration. Attempting to see the overhead panel causes the pop-up screen to go black and FSX locks up. The problem is with the R4D.gau according to the Microsoft "We're sorry . . . " dialogue box. Can Mark Beaumont shed any light on this? ThanksGary
  3. Bill:r4dFSXu1.exe doesn't run when clicked. Even when I choose Run as Administrator in dialogue box nothing happens. Is there a secret to this I don't know?I have all the aircraft files in simobjects/airplanes after transferring from the new folder Aircraft added by the installer. The next step, the updater, doesn't run when I click on it.Windows XP SP3 and FSX SP2 and Acceleration.Any ideas? Thanks.Gary Bill: Ignore the last post. It was AdAware that was blocking the updater as malicious. Sorry. Thanks for a great product.Gary
  4. I used to get this until I downloaded the latest drivers. I ditched the SST software and have never used a registered FSUIPC. I set everything up with FS assignments. I also don't have anything other than mode on butons 9,10, or 11. Everything now works perfectly.
  5. Not true. I solved what appears to be the the exact same problem with that edit. That's all I changed.http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/showthread.php?p=48070The figure is a multiplier and relates to framerate. Set it too high in relation to your framerate figure and texture loading at low altitudes especially (ie on approaches) will outstrip the capacity of the card to keep up and it will lock. Gary
  6. Before trying that, go to your FS9 cfg file and check this line:TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=80 (whatever your figure is)I experienced the same problem with my 9800GT until I reduced TBM from 200 to 80 with frame rate locked at 25 fps. Now it is smooth without stutters. If your frame rate is locked at about 25 or 30, then this figure should not really be higher than 100. If it is, your card probably can't cope with the texture loading .Gary
  7. Bingo! Thanks for the help, Gypsy Baron. The panel alias as installed reads "ELEC_PASS\panel" instead of the correct "ELECTRA_PASS". The sound alias was incorrect as well. Again, your help is much appreciated as this was driving me nuts.Gary
  8. I checked and installed the correct file. Moved a copy of the scenery.cfg into the FSTscenery file and it returns run time error 13-file mismatch. I tried this several months back and never could get it to work.
  9. I installed this in FSX and installed the fixes. In the aircraft selection menu, the passenger versions show as choices but the cargo versions are non-existent. They have separate folders in simobjects\airplanes Electra_Pass and Electra_Cargo. I checked the usual suspects: model match, airfile match, title line etc. but the passenger versions are the only ones available for selection. Has anyone else encountered this? Thanks.Gary
  10. I tried that scenery utility but it returns a runtime error 53.Gary
