Still have problems during Taxi with this beast.
I configured fsuipc so that when I pull my Saitek throttle into reverse it hits F1 followed by F2 4 or 5 times. Does a better job of simulating BETA which is what is usually used rather than full reverse.

pushback
2 issues: Want to limit the pushback distance before the 90 degree turn. When I decrease the distance number to what I want, it performs that, but then after the 90 degree turn keeps pushing for what seems like forever... after pushing last night and setting the parking brake, I could not get it to show released even though it was in the released position. After starting the pmdg ngx pushback, it released. Other than that, great so far.

lomg pauses
Anybody have any issues with long pauses just after departure at fsdt ( LAS DFW ) airports. I've been trying to trouble shoot an issue where this occurs, but only after flying for an extended period. I get anywhere from a 15 second to 1 minute pause just after takeoff while still over airport. Been flying the 737NGX and don't know if it is specific to that airplane or not.

Latest GTX 480 drivers
Currently I use the 197.45 drivers with my GT285. My GTX 480 is on the way. What driver version should I plan to install for this card? I hear the latest has some issues. Should I plan on 257.21?

Strange behavior just before touching down
I think Harry is probably correct. I ran a bunch of tests UT2 off/windows mode/nhancer prerender settings/flap GPWS flap override et al. Didn't change a thing. Always the same leap to runway and jump up 500 feet ( Autoland ). I can only land normally on 04 at LGA. I tried Dan's BGL at BOS and same results for 33L. No problems landing 15R though. No problems at SFO?? Interesting that I can take off at LGA rwy 4 and hold the M D-11 on the ground towards the threshold of 22 and the plane leaps up in the air 500 ft. So must have something to do with the water/land boundery. Then the question is why do I see this and others don't? Is there some CFG setting that can be linked to this issue? video card? anything??Rich

Strange behavior just before touching down
So it gets even more interesting. Decided to watch an autoland to rwy 22 LGA. Everything looks good then at 70ft RA the plane leaps onto the runway then jumps suddenly 500 feet in the air. Don't know if it's a clue, but this was accompanied by don't sink don't sink. very odd! The instant replay from the tower shows the same thing. I will try turning Ultimate traffic off to see what happens.Rich

Strange behavior just before touching down
No... It is definately not that. It leaps forward just past the 50 to 100 foot call and is down on the ground spoilers deployed. Wondering if some sort of pre rendering issue?Rich

Strange behavior just before touching down
Funny thing is there is no pause with this. My sim is running pretty smooth nowadays. And all seems good as you approach. You are thinking about the upcoming flare and then suddenly you are firmly on the ground and ahead of the last position you were in. No pause or stutter involved. I'll investigate some more.Rich

yes before the flare and suddenly on the runway. I will look at the playback next time it happens.Rich

Strange behavior just before touching down
I was reluctant to post anything, but this same issue has shown up on my new i7 build so I'm wondering what might be the underlying cause. I'm running the MD-11 with Ultimate Traffic 2. On my last system it was very repeatably that on approach to 33L in BOS at about 50-100 feet on short final the airplane would suddenly leap onto the runway. Kind of startles you because you'll suddenly hear the firm touchdown and the Spoilers deployed call. I thought it was just some bug with BOS 33L, but last night on my new system I got the same repeatably results landing at LGA RWY 13 and 22. Only common HW component between the two systems is the PNY 9800GTX+ card, but I wouldn't think that would have an effect? Anybody have any ideas. This is a definate head scratcher.Thanks,Richi7 920 6G DDR3CAS7 PNY 9800GTX+ 512MB video

MD-11 CTD on shortfinal TCAS2V7.dll
I had downloaded some MCI scenery from Avsim- aig_kmci_kansas_city_ktc_fsx_default. It had two files one was the main airport and the other must of just added some extra scenery objects ( AIG_KMCI_ADE_KTC__Default_CVX.bgl ). I had noticed that I was having problems with the scenery ( lost cockpit textures ) so I removed just the extra scenery portion. After that I was having problems with the TCAS2v7 issue, usually on final. So I was about to give up, but having recently purchased a new video card, I decided to try the Nhancer program & NickN's settings. Everything was solid. I setup the MD-11 to fly for around 13 hours while I was at work holding near MCI and then had no problems flying approaches etc. after I got home. SO, I thought why not try the extra scenery portion again. Right away the TCAS issue resurfaced. After removing that, I was able to keep the MD-11 flying for about 16 hours straight with holds, missed approaches & flights into ORD with heavy traffic. Solid as a rock now... knock on wood. The combo for me was the Nhancer settings and the suspect scenery. I think maybe running Nhancer relieves some of the load on FSX?Rich

MD-11 CTD on shortfinal TCAS2V7.dll
I was having the problem with the CTD's and more than not it had to do with the TCAS dll. I found that an addon scenery file was causing stability issues. So I removed that and also went with the Nhancer video settings recomended by NickN. My setup seems solid as a rock now.RichQ96006Gig RamVista 64Nvidia 9800 GTX+
