  1. DMdoc, Thank you for the comments. The rudder snapback is likely a consequence of using the keyboard 5 to return; it is instant that way. You should be using numpad "0" for left turns, numpad "enter" for right turns, and use the same keys to return to center. When I use these keys, the helm wheel turns as well in both Spot and VC views. The same is true regarding the helm steering; it is animated and turns when joystick or rudder pedals are used. The flag is textured and may be changed to anything you wish. See "unionjack512-256" in the texture folders. I hope this helps. Milton Shupe
  2. I assure you there are no viruses in our software. I scan before I upload and every site our packages are uploaded to also scans for viruses. Avsim replies with a clean scan and a check number upon uploading. Secondly, these packages have had zero bugs since they were first uploaded (although we did tweak the light positions a tiny bit :-). The subsequent releases were all further enhancements. We are happy that you guys are enjoying the Bounty package. :-) Sail on my friends. :-)
  3. Thanks for the nice comments. Happy to see so many enjoying this unique implementation. In the real world, the replica Bounty averaged 5-6 knots according to her last Captain in an interview, and said he once achieved 12 knots in a hurricane.. This was mainly due to hull design in those days for these collier type square rigged ships. Our FSim Bounty is limited to 15 knots in any winds depending of wind direction, wind speed, and sails deployed and their yard arms position. Beyond 30 knots, you must begin stowing sails to prevent sail or mast damage. The higher the wind speeds, the more sails that must come down. This is all explained in the included document.
  4. Ah, my mistake. In trying to get 2 packages uploaded to 3 websites and do announcement posts in appropriate forums, I forgot the Penz had already started a post here. My apologies to Penz and for the confusion caused.
  5. Something new, different, and immersive ... HMS Bounty for FSX - VERSION 1.1 Built Specifically for FSX - (separate package required for FS9) by Milton Shupe, Nigel Richards, Rob Barendregt, Sasha Rieger, and Rob Ibey. Helmsman by Craig "Full" Richardson HMS Bounty 18th Century Tall Ship square rigger completely wind driven, individually animated and controlled sails, animated flags with direction and wind speeds, animated helm, and Sail Management Window to control all ship fuctions. Ship responds to wind speeds and direction with yaw, keeling, and pitch depending on sails deployed and yard arm positions. Ambient sounds, variable wind and gale storm sounds, ship's bell, "Salute", anchor weigh/drop all add to immersion. WILL NOT WORK IN FS9 as it contains FSX native texture formatting and FSX specific sim interfaces. (Separate FS9 package available.) BIG NOTE: The latest version of FSUIPC is Required for the HMS Bounty to work. Note: Realism settings should be set to "Hard" for best Wind Effects (Will not work on "Easy" realism in FSX.)
  6. LOL Guys. I usually release the early version to SOH to ensure the package is going to be clean before I upload to other sites. Although the release so far has been problem free, we do want to enhance it a bit more for an update. I hope to upload the v1.1 to the major sites this coming weekend May 9th (assuming jury duty does not prevent that). Thanks for the comments. We have had excellent test results in FS9, FSX all versions, P3D 1.4 thru 2.3, and in P3D 2.4 and 2.5 if certain add-ons are disabled. However, none of the team currently runs P3D so we have no way to support that. You will just have to try it on your system to ensure it works okay. Also, tonight we had problem-free tests in the Steam version of FSX so it appears we are good there. Frame rates have been no problem in either sim version. Give us a little more time and we will get the package uploaded to Avsim ,Flightsim, and Simviation as a minimum.
  7. Tom. My heart breaks for you and your family and close circle of friends, many right here. Since 2000 when I got involved in FSim, you have been a leader in this community and staunch supporter through many phases and eras. We have always looked up to you to provide that leadership and guidance. Your legacy shall live on through the awesome work you have done here at AVSIM. My thoughts will be with you and the family daily. May your time be well spent and without physical pain. May your family treasure the memories of better times, and for you, Sir, I wish the best possible of outcomes. Milton Shupe
  8. The CoG is set at 21.89% MAC, well within the limits of 18-28%. Everyone has different controller sensitivities set and different yokes, pedals, or joysticks. Feel free to adjust anything you wish with these aircraft to suit your preferences. Remember also there is a tailwheel lock to the right of the seat if that would help you to taxi more controllably. You can still use "S" curves thru individual braking if you have pedals. I have not noticed the sounds anomaly but will check it out. Thanks
  9. Not sure why these uploads are not showing. Uploaded them very early on the 14th.
  10. Thank you Slait. Just FYI, there are civilian versions of these aircraft in the package as well. Both bare metal and Reno Racing types.
  11. I have upload 3 packages to the FS2004 library; the XP47H, the XP47J, and the XP-72 Republic experimentals. The FS9 packages work well in FSX too with the provided texture updates. Each package has several models and many textures to select from. These aircraft have top speeds of 490 to 505 MPH ground speed at critical altitude. All original custom models, panel and gauges, sounds and textures for your FS9 or FSX/P3D flying pleasures. Brought to you by Milton Shupe, Tom Falley, Nigel Richards, Steve Bryant, Scott Thomas; pilot figure by Jan Visser. Hope you enjoy them.

  13. Thanks for the kudos guys. Not sure if any of my twins meets your requirements but you can find them here at Avim (search for Milton Shupe) or at my website:http://www.flightsimonline.com/Of the Aero Commanders, my recommendation would be the AC500W:http://www.flightsimonline.com/ac500wood/If you are interested in a heavy Howard 500, be sure to read the history and pilot's reports on the site, you can find it here:http://www.flightsimonline.com/howard500/The Beechcraft D18S is here:http://www.flightsimonline.com/d18s/or, if you like the military genre, you might check out the Grumman products here:http://www.flightsimonline.com/Grumman/index.htmThere are lots more of course, for fun, cargo hauling, military, and the medium range Dash 7, although 4 engine turboprop, is another award winner you might like, here:http://www.flightsimonline.com/downloads/d7vcmdla.zipAll of these aircraft are available right here at Avsim, but you will have to sort through hundreds or other repaints etc. to find them. At any rate, not necessarily the best, but they are good hand flying easy to operate aircraft. Thanks and by all means, have fun! :-)
