  1. Walter, Did you submit a ticket to report the issue? I'm sure this can be squeezed into SP1. Rob
  2. rp1 replied to rp1's topic in PMDG 777
    Done!

Hi, having watched some of the beta videos there is one tiny thing I've noticed: the number 6 on the MCP is not the same that can be seen on RW photos or videos. Could it be software version related or even customer option? See http://www.airliners.net/photo/Malaysia-Airlines/Boeing-777-2H6-ER/0278843/ for example. I hope you guys won't consider this as rivet counting Regards, Robert
  4. In my understanding there are two options - maybe and old and a new one - on the RW aircraft. The one modeled in the NGX is the rotary knob, the other one is spring-loaded, ie. it can be turned 45° to the left/right and the longer it is kept in a position the faster the value increases/decreases. Personally I´d love to see this added in SP2 with the option so it is synched with the FO´s setting. Rob
  5. Ryan, would you mind giving us an idea of the changes/improvements that are to be expected in SP2? The plane is just great, there are only a couple of tiny things which would make it even better Rob ps. not sure whether it´s a good idea (maybe too early) but what about opening an extra topic for SP2 related things to discuss (kinda would like to be fixed/improved topic)
  6. Thanks for the answers, but he clearly mentioned that thrust reduction occurs 2:30 mins after hitting TOGA, not at a pre-selected altitude. This might be an option not modeled, though. Robert
  7. Hi, I´ve just heard of the time-triggered thrust reduction from a pilot. This means that CLB N1 is not initiated by an altitude but by a certain time after takeoff has been initiated (pressing TOGA). Does anybody have some information on this? I guess this isn´t modeled in the NGX. Cheers, Robert
  8. 2500k @ 4.7 RAM as described ASUS P8Z77-V Gigabyte GTX560Ti (factory OC model)
  9. Hello, would it make any noticeable difference if I switched to those rams instead of the currently installed 2x2 GB Mushkin Redline 1600 (1.65v) 6-8-6-24 ones? Thanks, Rob
  10. Not true. My P8P67 B3 had the issue from the very beginning, so obviously not overclocked. Anyway, I think we can conclude that quite a few boards are affected (hundreds of pages of discussion on different forums) but not all.
  11. It's the ASUS P8Z77-V. As already mentioned, the double post/cold boot/startup issue is a hardware flaw with the P67/Z68 boards so it can't be solved with BIOS updates.
  12. No, just run the startup repair from the Win7 disc and install the necessary drivers (chipset etc). I wouldn't do a complete re-install as long as everything is running fine.
  13. Hi, no problems at all (so far) with the Z77. I was equally annoyed with my P8P67 (which sometimes started normally but more often had to be restarted 5 times) so I bought the Z77 yesterday. The P67 chipset is well known for this issue and the workarounds/recommendations don't seem to help a lot. Robert
  14. Hi,I've seen on several real life pictures that the FMC thrust mode on the upper EICAS is showing "---" if there is no thrust setting selected, alternatively also above the N1 compressor speeds.I guess this is a software version related thing - would it be possible to include it in the future? With the NGX it's either showing TO or nothing as default (can be setup within the a/c options)The attached picture shows what I mean. Thanks,Robert
  15. AFAIK this only applies to aircraft equipped with the old pumps (these are normally placarded). With the new ones (and this is from a specific airline´s FCOM) the center tank pumps must only be switched off prior to departure provided there is less than 500 kgs in it and the pumps can be turned back on after passing 10.000 ft (a/c body angle decreases). Also, with the new pumps the ctr tank can be fully emptied and doesn´t need to be switched off with a given amount left in it.Maybe Andrea can elaborate further on this topic.Robert
  16. Press alt+tab once again and click on the fsx symbol with the mouse, then it will come back. This method works perfectly fine on my machine.Robert
  17. I am thinking about a dual monitor setup. That's even cheaper than a cheap laptop I guess...Robert
  18. Well, in my case it might have been wake turbulence as the twr controller asked a plane for immediate departure from the same rwy I was landing on.But again, this was the only instance so far.Robert
  19. I've only had this once on my last online flight, over the treshhold, one a/c holding short. At about 50 feet or less, all of a sudden, the plane got simply kicked off to the left, there was nothing I could do. No idea what could have caused this, the weather (winds) was perfectly fine.Robert
  20. Hi,that's the normal FMC behaviour, confirmed by Dr. Vaos via Ryan in a reply to my ticket regarding this.Robert
  21. The black screens are caused by ENB Series. No more black screens when switching between full screen and the desktop since I've uninstalled it. This has been confirmed many times. Robert
  22. Exactly the same here. There's actually one workaround which improves the situation a bit (but only temporarliy): switch off the PSU and press the power button. For less than a second the PC will start and shut down as there is no power available. After that turn on the PSU, start the PC and see what happens - in my case, a lot less dual boots or 'nothing' (ie. black screen and nothing happens) after start. But after a while the issues become frequent again. I found this method in a forum, so it's not my invention. Robert
  23. You can, but there´s no guarantee really that you´ll get rid of the problem with the new board. Seems like we are in the same boat...
  24. Funny thing is that the ASUS support guy told me (based on a MOBO expert's opinion) that the dual-boot, cold-boot etc. issues only affect a small fraction of the boards. I'd be slightly curious to know how many of us are dealing with it. Robert See see :)
  25. Well in that case I'll stick to the P8P67 - which otherwise is perfectly fine for me - and hope that the new one won't have the dual-boot issue. Robert
