Good morning I bought a 10" fire tablet and have used it in conjunction with my main screen to display the HSI on the tablet while using the main screen for visuals in MSF2020. But I got to thinking that what I would really rather do is put the outside view on the tablet and use the main screen only for cockpit instrumentation display. Have any of you folk tried this or done something similar ? Jim

Well....turns out all this effort could have been avoided had i just downloaded the G1000Nxi from the marketplace. What a HUGE improvement over the default units and that cleared up all the issues I was having trying to select approaches. Thanks for all the suggestions.

well....it must be peculiar to the garmin in the bonanza and 172. I can easily select whatever approach is desired in the cj4 or tbm, but not in these two aircraft. Just for reference, the flight plan i tried was from KHOU to KTKI. KTKI has rnav and ils approaches. I can select any approach in the cj4 or tbm, but only the ils in the 172 or bonanza. Odd thing is if I reverse and go from KTKI to KHOU, I can select all the approaches in any of the aircraft for KHOU ?!

Thanks Tacoma I tried another set of airports and now I can select the various approaches. Must have been operator error on my part. Thanks for the quick response.

Weather's a little murky in S Texas so thought id shoot some rnav approaches today. But either I've forgotten a step (very possible) or the last update has crippled the selection process for the approach selection ? Could someone else try and report back ? Thanks

figured out how to get sim bandit past 2x. I like to jump in a plane and head out, level off, and then pick a direct-to destination. sim bandit doesnt like that. But if you do a complete flight plan on the ground with correct approaches, then sim bandit works fine. Still bugs me, though, that I can't get the default acceleration to work per the previous suggestions.

ok...so ... what is the exact key press for the 2x, 4x, etc. When I press R and then the number keypad + or -, nothing happens

Since the last update, sim bandit has a max speed of 2X. Are there any other apps that do the same function or is there hope that the sim bandit might be updated ?

wife has a 10" Fire tablet. Its fairly good for general internet browsing but its no speed demon......

Will an Amazon 8" or 10" Fire tablet work ??

I found that the same retract button on my joystick will also activate the gear for the float plane. But I can't tell if the float rudders can be retracted or not.

I thought my cordless mouse needed a new battery, since the pointer kept disappearing during flight. But after a new battery, the same behavior. Just by accident, I noticed that if the pointer disappeared, I could use the keyboard arrows to move the view just a bit, and suddenly the mouse pointer would reappear, although often in a different spot on the screen ? Though quirky, I can fly this way, but would rather have the mouse pointer back in a predictable manner. Is there a "legacy" setting that I need to try to find for the mouse ?

I cleared the community folder prior to the last update and after successful update, reinstalled the very excellent cj4 mod back into the community folder. I noticed immediately that there was an issue with the RNAV editing prior to flight. So I restarted the sim, picked a different route and RNAV approach and began the flight. But now, I have no airspeed or altitude readout on the screen. I'm not quite sure what to do. Has anyone else seen this? Should I wait and see if a new updated cj4 mod shows up after this last overall flight sim update? Jim

Ok....I made a few changes to my system that did result in marginal improvement. The stutters are still there in the same place but there's maybe a 30% improvement on my box. I changed anistropic from 8X to 4X, turned HUD off completely, turned other aircraft/traffic off completely, and windshield effects to low. slowed weather updates from 10 minute to 40 minute (although on the last 3 identical flights, there's been no weather to speak of) All this to say that whatever the primary issue is, its still there. Mr. Fuzzy makes a valid point regarding increased mesh, airports, etc., but the route I've been flying has been the same since the sim was introduced and to my old eyes, little if any has changed on the route. Still....even with that....what a sim !! For armchair flying even with its quirks, its quite a program

What MauBen is exactly correct. I know there were bugs galore at first, but I don't understand how fixing the bugs has brought about such a gradual but steady loss of performance.

That's my feeling too. I don't remember this being such a big issue until update 3. But to answer sidfadc's suggestion, I did find one multiplayer heading under traffic i believe. None were turned on but I turned them all either off or to low if there was no off. I'm not overly hopeful, but its worth a try.

no addons....I'm running at moderate levels for everything. Everything is fine until I get down around 1000 - 1500 above ground and slowed down for final and that's when it really shows up

Is this a priority for Asobo ? I thought by now enough of us were having these that the priority might move up the list. I just did a short hop and for the first 30 minutes all was well...but in the last 10 minutes descending to the airport, the stutters came roaring back.

GRRRRR......my download got to 3.57G remaining and then proceeded to download 0% ad nauseum. Now its stuck as am I . Suggestions ??

I've used the REX weather system ever since the first struggles with "real" weather in the Sim. It's not perfect, but its VERY easy to load and for my day to day flight adventures is plenty realistic. Also, the price was right.

My updated sim is still not as good as it was before the last update, but I just flew the Cj4 from St Louis to Chicago Midway. I have to say that even with its flaws, it is still a huge milestone above FSX. 30 miles out of Midway you could clearly see the Great Lake curve and on final, the 25+ knot bumpy headwind required great attention to airspeed and attitude. Sure, its still got lots of problems, but I find the whole thing far more immersive than anything I've flown before. Other than the stutters which still show up, my biggest gripe is the ground colors. In some areas like the southwest, they're not bad, but in general the terrain is just much too green and drabby brown. Maybe once some of the other glaring issues get resolved, we'll have landmass colors that are more realistic than what we have currently. And....Happy Easter everyone ! Jim
