  1. Hi guys,I thought I would pitch in with my modest system Before the transformation. A bit cramped a quite hot. And now it has been complet. lot's of space. the front panel connectors really hate me.....they are just impossible. Anyway, it's running 4,2ghz very stable now with low temps (max 70C in a hot room otherwise 65c) Bear in mind I am going to change the GPU cooler and I'll add another HD. So next week I'll pitch in with some FSXmark11 data from my i7Martin
  2. Thanks Bjorn,I've just been running 12hours of Prime95 without any troubles. I've also installed an aditional fan to cool the south bridge better. I see we have almost the same motherboards. Is it possible to save an overclock profile with these?? I am still astonished that it will go to 4,2ghz on air and temps are now averaging 66C. Just astonishingMartin
  3. well....this is my first overclock. I've been running prime95's FPU test for now 7hours, and counting, without any trouble. At the same time I've been running firefox and FS9.....Is there any other benchmark programs that u can recommend?I think it's gone pretty well for my first time.....I can feel an addiction comming. Funny for my 920. Baseclock of 200x21 works, but if I raise it to 201 it crashes (I haven't tried 201 with this higher vcore......might do the trick) Still 4200mhz on air......with these speeds it'll be a while before I go SBMartin
  4. Hi Guys,I got my new case and my god it's huge. For the same clock speed the temps are reduced by 6-8C and for the same temp I can now get 4200mhz out of my now one year old i7 920. That is 70C after 1hour prime95 max heat test. vCore: 1.3v. Thanks to all of you. And mjrhealth I am using the Noctua U12P SE with two fans. Last question ;) I am reinstalling windows on monday on the velociraptor. Should I unoverclock it? and if so can I save my settings somewhere? motherboard is Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5. Thanks,Martin
  5. Hi guys,Thanks for the respons. The order is in so in the weekend I'll be pulling my computer apart. Just two quick questions:1) Is it worth reseating the CPU cooler? It's been on for about one year and it's been running clock speeds from 400mhz to 4009mhz. Right now it settles at 68C at 3500mhz. the cooler is a Noctua 2) with the case I mentioned above what is the best way to mount a CPU cooler? In an East to West direction or South to North? that is if u put a compas on the side of the cage and the airflow in that direction. Thanks,Martin
  6. Thanks,Cool about the GPU cooler. Now it's not the price that wories me it's the sheer size of both the HAF 932 and the X. I belive they both are full towers. I got a mini tower at the moment which baraly fits the X58 MB.
  7. Hi guys,I need some quick advice as I am going to upgrade my system even further. So, I have an Intel i7 920 at stock speeds at the moment. I had it overclocked at 4ghz, but people here suggest that one install FSX and windows on a non overclocked system and so I saved my BIOS and now I cannot load the profile to get it back to the 4ghz setting I had before.....anyway......I have a Geforce GTX 470 and 6GB Corsair 1600mhz RAM running 8-8-8-24. So what I am proposing is a new cabinet as things are VERY cramped at hot in here. When I was at 4ghz the CPU toped out at 72C and GPU is topping out at nearly 90C just with FSX. Case: http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?product_id=6606A new Harddrive: Western Digital Velociraptor 300gb 10000rpm. And last, but not least I've been thinking of getting this: http://www.zalman.co.kr/eng/product/Product_Read.asp?idx=407 for my grafics card. Any suggestions or comments? All this comes in at 340eurosThanks,Martin
  8. Hi everyone,Even though we are all battlening with our own problems they are overshadowed by the big one. In my modest 25 years of life I've never been as speechless as when I saw pictures from Japan. It is trully horrific. I have no words for it. Let's all have a moments of silence for the country who is in the deepest hour and to those who have laid their lives and to those who are helping the victims. And lets not forget those who are trying their best to stop the nuclear powerplant from meltdown. I didn't know where to put this, but I just felt like it needed to come out....ThanksMartin from Copenhagen
  9. Some say he has no understandings of delays.....Martin Dahlerup
  10. Hi Chris,I felt an ugent need to respond to you. I can only assume that you are not a real world pilot. let me put it this way. A flight simulator can be used for training. It cannot substitute a level d sim or indeed the real thing. What it can be used for is cockpit familirization, procedure knowledge, FMS/FMGS training. Some friends of mine is flying the 737NG and they used the PMDG one doing their initial type rating and they now fly for Ryanair. Doing my own type rating on the "scarebus" I had a great advantage, because I knew about the EFIS instruments and the general operation of the aircraft. (all of us was straight from steam instruments) I wouldn't have known the A320 as well as I do with out the good old PSS airbus. Yes, the DES profile was a bit off and a lot of things didn't work, but it does give you an overall understanding of the aircraft. My sim buddy haven't tuched FS at all and he was not used to monitor the FMA and the speeds that jets fly at. These things are great for what they are and you just have to respect their shortcommings and limitations. And Chris, our "real" trainging was sitting 8hours a day infront of a poster mounted on some plywood. You see, for a fraction of the cost of a level D sim or indeed a MFTD the computer version can greatly increase cost efficiency and training quality. All because the student can see the airplane in action and interveine with it in real time. Hope this helps,Martin Dahlerup
  11. Hi Rob,As I said this is a picture my friend took doing dencent. it is not from the fleet I am flying. Martin Dahlerup
  12. Hi guys,Yes, it's me again. Still beating the subject of DAC vs SAC. I found this photo a friend of mine took doing decent. This aircraft is equiped with one of each. I know the engine fittet to the A320 is the -5B rather than the -7B on the 737ng, but this is just to show there is a difference. Do I dare ask if someone from the PMDG can answer my other two questions from the first post? These are of more importance that the above "issue".Thanks,Martin Dahlerup
  13. Hi E M V,First of all think about the fact that you are representing PMDG and please don't be so judgemental about people in here. Some of us are professional airline pilots. Now english is not my first language so please excuse any mistakes. Now, if you don't think that knowing which type of engines sites under your wing or which FMC update you are flying with then I am glad I am not flying with you. The engines are particular important in the performance sense. You do not want to base your take off performance on the wrong engines.I would really like that graph as I "bleep the throttle", but can you make it in a seperate window......that would be great. Thanks,Martin Dahlerup
  14. Hi Ryan,I am well aware of what it is and I beg to differ about the difference. At least on the A320 the difference in EGT can be upto 100C depending on altitude and engine N1. Veirdly enough I have only found SAS who have used DAC on the 737ng and they have had problems with it. On the A320 it is becoming increasingly popular. now about the other things I mentioned?Martin Dahlerup
  15. Hi Guys,Have you guys noticed how Robert and Ryan has become "flight sim celebrities" I just have a few questions. Since you strive for the extream realism1) Will you incorporate all the engine variants for the varius models? ie. one 737NG model can have 3-4 different engines. can you also do double-annular combuster? see here for reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CFM_International_CFM56#CFM56-7_series2) Which FMC update have you inclouded? 10.8A I presume. Although I wouldn't be suprised if you got hold of the update 11Thanks,Martin Dahlerup
  16. Hi Robert,Thank you for your answer. I really appreciate it. And also for making it clear about copyright material. The exitement got to my head. These two idears was really spontanious and next time I'll think them more through. In the anticipation of the 737NGX release I did think that your inboxes would be flooded. Ryan,I tried to write my post a little light hearted, but since english is not my mother tounge, it may not have gone as well as I would have thought. By the way, I hope you don't mind me listing to your music ever now and then. Can I PM you my opinion? ;) I hope that all others have learned something from this topic. Thank you,Martin Dahlerup
  17. Hi Guys,As promised a few weeks ago here are some real world charts specific for the 737NG. I did ask Ryan if he wanted to use these charts for an update featuring the HUGS (again), VSD and PRNAV, but he was so uninterested he forgot to answer me. Or maybe my PM just got into a flood of "release date requests".....whatever, now I am posting these charts for you guys.<<Attachment Removed due to copyright concerns>>Have fun and land safe,Martin Dahlerup
  18. Hi,Funny enough I just installed the good old PS1.3 in a DOS emulator.....now this is old school. And LOOK we got working ACARS, WX radar, ....in 1999 and the whole installation takes up a woping 40mb. Have a nice weekend,Martin Dahlerup
  19. Yeah, but either projects has not been in the development cycle for 14years......yet. Actually come to think of it, Vins 2017 date is pretty close to 14 years......interesting. (from the original 737NG release)Now I must admit I've never gotten around listing to the Chinese Democracy CD....there is so much other good stuff out there. Lately I've heard: Haystack Home, No Direction and The Rime of the Ancient MarinerRegards,Martin Dahlerup
  20. As long as it doesn't turn into a Chinese Democracy then life is good. Martin Dahlerup
  21. Hi Andreas,It *might* be possible to develop an airbus simulation for FSX, but I have my doubts. First of all the modern computer is running all sorts of other things in the background. The software computers in the A320 (and later models) are programmed specificly to do the FBW/ECAM/FWC etc. and they do it in real time in a dynamic envoinment. This is the main difference bewteen what has been done for FS and what Airbus does. Also consider that it has taken Airbus properbly a decade to develope and fine tune the FBW. All this said I am looking forward to Wilcos "Airbus revistited" and also to the FLS A320 series. Regards,Martin
  22. Hi Thomas,There is a whole checklist covering "delivery flights" which will test all of the normal and non-normal of the aircraft. I know the details for the A320, but not for the 737NG sadly. The whole flight last about 3-4 hours. Now about the 737NG specific Innsbruck charts I promised. I am waiting for Ryan to respond to a PM, (he must be bussy removing posts in here....) but I can tell you what. Imagine you are doing a full RNAV approach with circling in bad weather. You are litterely flying down the valey with mountain peaks popping out of the clouds. The HUGS, VSD and ND are working overtime to provide you with the best possible change to see the runway. Thanks,Martin Dahlerup
  23. Hi guys,I see a lot of downloads, but only two people have said "thank you". anyway, Ian and Paolo - To log into the eRM you have to be employed by an airline who uses EAG and be a pilot or you'll have to buy access for a few thousand $$$. I may post some 737NG specific charts for Innsbruck, but only if you guys are up for the challenge?Keep the blue side up,Martin Dahlerup
  24. Hi guys,In preperation for the 737NGX I though I would post this drift down chart for you guys. It's taken straight from my electronic route manual which some of you might remmember from here. All I have done is remove the airline logo.Have fun,Martin Dahlerup
  25. Hi guys,We try to fly as optimum as possible. This means we will climb upto highest possible altitude achivable. The altitude is depening on route length, weight, cost index, temperature and wind. For short stage flights plan for atleast 5minutes of cruise. A rule of thumb for the A320 at least is to take the route lenght in nm add 100 to it and that will be your flight level. And Sam: I don't think you'll find any easyjets at FL410 (I know they still have 737ngs, but they are being send back to their lessors) - let alone any of the A320 series ;) I'll let you guess whyKeep the blue side up,Martin Dahlerup
