Hi Guys,For the past week, I've learned to fly the PMDG 747 with all its complicated aspects - FMC settings, Fuel loading and calculations, CAT-III ILS autolanding and manual landing. Assumed that my FMC is set up completely, how do I perform the missed approach (If autolanding is activated)? Shall I just select "ACTIVATE" in FMC and "EXECUTE" the remaining plan?

Can't change speed/cruise altitude in FMC

I get your point... I will try out your suggestion on my next flight... Thanks! :( -
Can't change speed/cruise altitude in FMC
royski replied to royski's topic in PMDG 747-400 (Legacy Versions)
It happens on pre-flight. Prior to puchback when I'm making flight planning on the FMC LEGS page. What you're talking about is a labour union... hahaha... A vrtual pilot union is an online organization of people. It's good way of tracking how many flight hours you've spent and more...AirSource Website -
There are times that I could not make changes to the speed/FL entry in FMC... It responds with "INVALID ENTRY."I have followed the correct format though. Any suggestions?
-
I'm also not sure of this... Is there a difference of perfomance between these engine models?
-
Hi Scott,Make sure that you VERIFY your approach speed and flap settings upon final. In your FMC they can be seen under INIT REF page.

All of them had good suggestions. Do not use the default ATC as it is very unpredictable and irrational (at times). I once used to flew with VATSIM, but I don't have constant internet connection that's why I resulted in looking for a better alternative. I agree that Radar Contact is a good replacement to live ATC.Fly safe and enjoy! :(

Congratulations!I totally agree with you... The learning curve for this plane is a steep one! This is for serious flight simmers only... I was immersing myself in checklist and tutorials a week before I bought the product. I learned how to operate it successfully in a weeks time, also with the help of forums. :(

PMDG 747 and Radar Contact on Windows7 (FSX)
royski replied to royski's topic in PMDG 747-400 (Legacy Versions)
Thank you all for the suggestions. The "display text" option was the culprit for the LAG. Now RC runs smoothly with FSX. :( -
Thank you guys for the suggestions and tips. My last flight from Hong Kong (VHHH) to Manila (RPLL) was good. I had no error messages from the FMC. I reduced my fuel reserves and contingency time to 30 minutes only. Landed with a good weight after a fuel burn. :(

Very good suggestion guys. I remember I entered 10 as RESERVE, 100 as COST INDEX and a 45-min. CONTINGENCY plan. I will adjust the fuel planning in my next flight...

Can`t reinstall and validate my 747-400X
royski replied to pilotpm's topic in PMDG 747-400 (Legacy Versions)
I also have the same problem and I'm a new PMDG 747 pilot. Try to check the tab where it contains email. ENTER your email address there.I contacted PMDG Support about the issue, after that I figured out what to do then. -
PMDG 747 and Radar Contact on Windows7 (FSX)
royski replied to royski's topic in PMDG 747-400 (Legacy Versions)
Thank you very much for the detailed response. I have already purchased a download version of the product and I just simply love it.The attention to detail is very much obvious in this plane - both internal and external. The PMDG 747-400 is a addon for serious simmer who want a higher level of realism to their FSX experience - not a plane where you can just get in and fly! -
Hi everyone,I have noticed that there is a LAG or DELAYED response upon accessing RC menus. The PIC responding to the ATC and the other way around has obvious delays. Is there something I can do to fix this?

Hi everyone,I just made my first flight using the PMDG 747-400X. After performing fuel computation - manual and with a fuel planner. I entered the values in FMC. I was surprised to find that FMC reports that fuel is insufficient. From pre-start up to departure phase of flight. When I reached my arrival airport, I still have enough fuel left (about 30%).Is this a bug?

PMDG 747 and Radar Contact on Windows7 (FSX)
royski posted a topic in PMDG 747-400 (Legacy Versions)
Hi everyone,I'm new to this forum and I'm purchasing PMDG 747-400 in the next few days. I'm currently running FSX on Windows 7 with good framerates on a laptop computer.I have some questions in mind:1) Will PMDG 747 run with Radar Contact V4?2) If I enter my FP legs through the FMC, how do I do such with RC? (currently RC retrieves its plans from *.pln file from MSFS)?3) Or would you recommend a flight planner software (either payware or freeware) to create FPs, compute fuel and export theplan to RC altogether?Thanks... :(
