  1. And I thought I was alone (in isolation) since NGX was launched! My wife just told me, "Are you even not bored of flying and flying all over again?" I just smiled and said, "Nope. Every flight is a different experience..."
  2. Here is the link... http://forum.avsim.net/topic/256047-pmdg-forum-signature-banners-new-j41-banner/
  3. Awesome video! Loved the "dirty lens"' effect! Great job!
  4. Hi Dan, This forum post will lead you to the link. Seems like another "freeze issue."http://forum.avsim.net/topic/343817-test-hot-fix-for-those-with-freezes/ Have fun!
  5. This is probably not an autobrake problem. If you are unable to solve the problem, it's time to send PMDG a ticket.
  6. Do this and you will hit the runway HARD... If you flare at 50 feet, the aircraft will definitely float above the runway... This is NEVER done in RW flying. Just my 2 cents... No offense intended.
  7. Captains, The period key DOES WORK... As soon as you go below 60 knots on the rollout and the autobrakes kick in, press and HOLD the period key (1-2 secs) TWICE. This action will disarm the autobrakes.
  8. Your right, once your a simmer, your will be FOREVER a simmer... I does happen that sometimes your interest will dive down, due to boredom and routine. I remember my first interest in flight simulation back in 9/11, when I learned that the hijackers were training themselves on MS FS. That sparked my curiousity and the rest was history...
  9. I agree with you... For me that is the BEST (or worst - if not done properly) of the flight! The sound of the main gears touching down the runway, then spoilers deployed, then reverse thrust then reverse thrust disengaged. Keeps playing on my head...
  10. To simplify the process, instead on clicking buttons, I assigned a keystroke for TOGA on the FMC. In my case, I assigned: Ctrl-R - for AT toggleCtrl-T - for TOGA mode activation Works for me all the time... The above post is correct. After aligning the plane on runway heading, engage the AT first, then advance the throttles up to 40% N1 (allow them to spool up), then engage the TOGA mode using the hotkey.
  11. Hi! You can go here: http://support.precisionmanuals.com/Main/Default.aspx BTW, next time, include your FULL name in the post to comply with the forum rules. Have fun!
  12. Hahaha! You guys are pretty clever. Working around the NGX limitations. I have yet to do a landing with HGS.
  13. I agree with you Max. Setting the throttles at idle at 30 feet works for me all the time. I've read in an earlier post - how could you land the plane with autothrottle on? If you want your speed controlled on finals you can have the AT engaged until reaching 100-200 feet above minimums. I've seen some landings at JustPlanes having done this.
  14. The autobrake system is another matter. But of course, like in RW flying, pilots DO set the autobrakes to drop the speed ASAP.
  15. Hi Rick, Definitely, all RW pilots and simmers DO THIS. Putting the thrust on idle removes lift and allows the plane to touchdown on the runway. After touchdown, verify that spoilers are deployed and engage reverse thurst (to stop the aircraft). Failing to engage reverse thurst will result to a long rollout or even overshoot the runway (As some accident happened in real life).
  16. Hi Jakub, sometimes I also get weird sounds due other fsx addons during flight. Fred's suggestion is correct. Press the Q key to reset FSX sounds... It should work. If not, then submit a ticket.
  17. Hi Ryan! Thank you for the clarification... Thanks a lot for helping us out with any issues on NGX... PMDG had done a great job... The best payware aircraft I've ever purchased!
  18. Nice post Achmad, I still love the challenging and hair-raising Innsbruck approach... A test of airmanship!
  19. Please include Philippine Airlines (fictional) repaint... And FlyDubai please...
  20. Since NGX is a lighter aircraft, it has a more tendency to float unlike the 747. In all my landings, I usually land at Vref + 5 to set a safety margin for stalls. At 30 feet, bring the throttle to IDLE. The plane will slowly bring itself to a nose-up attitude. At 10-15 feet, perform the flare. If the aircraft floats, then it means you have performed the FLARE prematurely... Have fun!
  21. The Innsbruck (LOWI) is one of the challenging approaches I've done... Since NGX has the terrain radar, remember to turn it on during approach!
  22. Currently in MPTO - Tocumen International in Panama. Next leg is going to the exotic TNCM (St. Maarten)!
  23. Strange, F2 works for me (since time in memorial), press and HOLD F2 key...
  24. Hi, please check my post. I might be able to help you... http://forum.avsim.net/topic/343627-how-to-perform-an-autoland/
