  1. Reset means reset. Repair means repair. You need to RESET. Simples. I do it every day and it works! Go with it, don't be scared.
  2. Start\Settings\Apps\Find Gaming Services\Click Advanced Options\Select RESET. Having done that, open Xbox app and you will see you are logged on. You may have to do that every time you start your PC.
  3. Yeah, life's a baitch...And then you die. Don't worry, everything will be perfect when 2024 hits the shops. 😎
  4. Has this update been? If so it didn't work. Or is it an update to come? EDIT: Just turned off my PC and there it was, lurking. First opening of Xbox app seemed OK. At least I was logged in! EDIT 2: Spoke too soon. 🙄
  5. Don't bother. Been there, done that. It makes NO DIFFERENCE!
  6. It's a plot by Lockheed Martin to get us all back to P3Dv6 What? It's true. 😎
  7. Powershell is the new Microsoft Fix-U-Like. There will be an announcement on all main news channels and a national holiday will be instigated. Named National Xbox fix day.
  8. Oh God! Please make it end. **Careful what you wish for. 😣😁
  9. Another odd thing this morning. I started the Xbox app (loadsa trouble with) and tells me there's an update for it. Yippee! They've fixed it. Clicked on 'Update', goes to Store, loads of updates, go back to Xbox....No change, still broken. I blame the W.E.F.
  10. Me neither. I submitted a ticket to Xbox and Zendesk. I should have saved the keystrokes for something more useful!
  11. The answer is no. When I log on to my PC I run Powershell command 1, then command 2 to the Store which lets me download and install Gaming services. Then check XBox app and my smiley avatar shows me logged in. Good to go. On the next PC start I have to go through the same routine.
  12. Er...Good question. My head's been through the wringer. I'm just grateful I have a proven way of getting to fly every time. I'll make a note.
  13. I've managed to create a routine for tackling this nonsense. 1: Made a text file for abennett's fix. On the desktop. 2: Made a shortcut for Powershell. On the desktop. 3. Added Xbox app to Start menu (saves scrolling to the bottom of Apps Haven't yet made it routine to delete Gaming Services before shutdown. But a whole lotta angst has been eliminated. 😀 Incidentally, does anyone else get a fleeting picture of the update window when the sim goes into action?
  14. Try the cure as I linked to. I've had 3 good starts so far. Use Powershell (search) I used Command Prompt on other occasions. I don't know if it's very different but it worked on the last 'cure'.
  15. Loop de loop again. For what it's worth, this may help. I followed the instructions like a lamb to the slaughter but it worked! Whether it's a long fix or a short term fix only time will tell. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/xbox/forum/all/error-gamingservicesuiexe-two-point-hospital-pc/63a89747-e020-4a07-a619-2189fb1f9773 Click on the Replies (7)
  16. That would be nice, but no. Date and time are spot on. I'm about to fire up MSFS. Can't wait to see what is does this time. 😁
  17. I'll be jiggered! Gave up in disgust, went for a walk (well, hobble really. Suffering a bout of gout at the moment. That's all I need) came back, switched PC on and wouldn't you know. MSFS started up! No, I don't know what I did, nor do I care any more. I CAN take it!
  18. I went to bed last night feeling confident that my MSFS woes were over. I even made that smug post above. Settled down to do some livery painting, fired up MSFS and BOOM! Press any button to start loop is back! I swear I heard it laugh.
  19. This is what you're looking for. The dangers of only reading the last posts in a thread.
  20. Yes. Although I went to Task Manager as per the link I put back a few posts.
  21. The jury's out at the moment. So far, so good. 5 clean start-ups on the trot. 😧
  22. No, sorry. It was an Xbox app cock up. As I explained.
  23. When I read that I went scurrying off to the Xbox maze to find 'Services'. Nothin'. Hundreds of restarts, prodding and poking (amazing where desperation takes you) the penny dropped. Services in Task Manager! A few more uninstalling XBox app setting the services to automatic and tada!! I don't know why I made such a fuss. 🙄 This may help others. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/xbox/forum/all/i-get-0x80040904-when-trying-to-launch-xbox-app-on/c9adce00-21ae-43d1-8d43-072a04995036
  24. I've tried all the 'cures' several/millions of times I'm at the point of giving up. I think this is only happening to a selected few.
