  1. I wrote something then decided to delete it you cant delete posts so i just put ...
  2. You should consider networking, only using your flight sim pc to run flight sim, and using a laptop to run other programs like active sky or any acars programs, also for browsing the Internet which I'm sure most people do. The plain and simple truth is that the flight Sims are not the memory hogs, it's not the flight sim that runs out of memory it's your computer, ive never seen my sim p3d consume more than 3 gig of its available 4 gig of memory with vector FSDT and PMDG on a 10 HR plus flight, I did however see my computer up and around 90% memory usage, then I moved alot of third party software to a laptop and networked it all, I saw my VAS usage drop a good 20-25%.
  3. Kenz Prosim didn't do it, some one made the whole ACARS interface it to use with prosim, its additional 3rd party called Prosim-UTILS that is made by Humberto Miguel. You have to download it and install it on its own, it does not come with the Prosim 737 software. It uses Hoppie's network, there is no VATSIM ACARS network.
  4. One thing I have not seen mentioned much here is what version of P3D, PMDG products will be compatible with. I've found that version 1.4 is more friendly with other FSX add on's than version 2 is, for this reason I have stuck to using 1.4 for quite some time, even thou I do own version 2, its currently waiting on me to get motivated and fit the new SSD I brought for it, which currently resides on the kitchen table! Will PMDG's products work in 1.4 as well, or am I really going to have to get motivated...
  5. I have been using P3D for some time, as with every thing I have learned about Flight sim, ive never asked any one for guidance, ive located and learned every thing my self, i see the same thing as VATSIM ATC Instructor, people want to have every thing in front of them, instead of going about finding it them self, this used to cause my assessments to go from a simple half hour test, to me having to spend the next 3 hours of my night trying to explain to the student, why they haven't passed, and why they needed to put more effort in to their own learning, this is half the reason why i always hate, "can i have a link for that" why should some one else go and get the information for you. There is nothing that needs to be modified with the scenery, the only thing is when it comes to installers, Native FSX installers are looking for a FSX installation, if they cant find it, it wont install. There are 3 options Pay money to flight sim Eastonia and get their migration tool, this is what i use Install it into FSX then copy it over to P3D Or create dummy FSX CFG's and EXE's to fool the installers into thinking you have FSX installed (the flight sim Estonia migration tool does that) FYI they also have a forum, dedicated to P3D Regards Kirk
  6. The forum you are looking for is apart of the avsim forums, there is a whole section dedicated to P3D. You don't need to use that tweaking tool, and most scenery from FSX works, you can install AI like WOAI or IVAO, or UT ect. Regards Kirk
  7. Sigh, I feel like people get soo damn lazy in forums they cant be bothered to look for themself. The thread you are after is in the same sub-forum you found this one, it is one of the 9 pinned posts. Labled: Lockheed Martin Prepar3D Development Status Thread - Updated 25OCT14. There is no need for tips on P3D, it works perfect out of the box Regards Kirk
  8. PMDG are not forcing you to move to P3D, if you don't want to pay twice for the same product don't move from FSX. How many people brought the PSS products for FS9 and are now using FSX? Are you going to ask PSS for your money back because you no longer use their product? (Naturally you can't as they closed their doors) I have paid for several products I no longer use, but the choice to change sims was mine, and that's something I have to deal with, and so will you If you choose to change. Regards Kirk
  9. For those that think they can upgrade from FSX to P3D on a discount, i've got bad news for you. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/454218-lockheed-martin-prepar3d-development-status-thread-updated-25oct14/ Regards Kirk
  10. Kyle, no one is ignoring facts. The real fact is, PMDG has not provided any information regarding the licenses, cost and or release date of a P3D line, the only FACT that has been stated this far is that they are working on an agreement with Lockheed Martin. What we are choosing to ignore is your so called facts that you posted some time ago, with no real base line evidence or no real relationship with PMDG or Boeing or Lokheed Martin, and therefore your comments and or statements about a cost and licene options are moot. Until such time as PMDG make an announcement on the above, there are no facts to ignore. Regards Kirk
  11. Kyle, No one is getting upset at you because you type the truth. At the end of the day people who have chosen to move to P3D as their next simulation have made their own choice, no one cares what you have to say about that discussion, your constant repeating of the EULA just falls in the TL:DR category as do most of your ramblings here. We have all read the LM EULA, we have all made our own choices. Last time I checked you were neither a representative from LM or PMDG, so I fail to understand why your constant bleating of the EULA is so important to you. Instead of pointing out the same thing over and over again, why don't you go and do something constructive. Kirk
  12. Kyle, no one is illegally downloading any thing. The example you have given relates to Piracy and steeling. No one here has pirated or stolen any thing from PMDG At the end of the day the EULA is only there to protect PMDG from LM, and LM from MS. No one here is asking you to do any thing you don't want to, people that have chosen to use P3D as their next sim have done so at their own choice. As you are not a P3D user, I cannot understand why you continue to come to this thread and give your unwanted 2 cents worth, you are just increasing the population of people that hate you.... Kirk
  13. I disagree, most of the peoples that follow this forum are massive EULA cowboys, and cant wait to talk about how what you are doing is illegal (Despite there being now law) I understand the fact that data from Boeing is expensive, however Prosim (the software for fixed base simulators) is not that expensive. However at the end of the day no one participating in this thread works for PMDG, no one participating in this thread knows how PMDG are going to approach the pricing situation, its all just assumptions based on what you think you know. I have already quoted this several times. However people seem to have a hard time reading, the official statement from PMDG. made last November regarding the price differential is the current FACTS from them, un till such time as its superseded, which it has not. At the end of the day PMDG only pay once for the data from Boeing, and they manufacture a product and sell it on to 1000's the one off payment PMDG made will be split over those sales, not to mention PMDG would charge a bucket load for the customers buying Airline custom products, as mentioned the different licencing options, PMDG would recover their costs in no time. Kirk
  14. Again, you don't know what PMDG are going to charge... You can point out all these FACT's in till you are blue in the face, the one FACT you seem to be ignoring is what PMDG already stated when they announced a P3D line. Just in case you could not read it the first time, here it is again. Likewise, at the end of the day, what other people do and how others choose to interpret a doccument, is not your concern, stop worrying about what every one else is doing. Kirk
  15. I might remind every one here that is making up all sorts of equations as to what the pricing will be for a P3D release of PMDG products, this includes you Kyle. No one here knows what PMDG are going to do in regards to pricing. I see every one can type, but no one can be bothered to read. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/427010-multi-platform-pricing-policy-expectations-fsxp3dxplane/ Robert also said Please take the time to read the facts before creating 6 pages of complete and utter un-verified statements based on assumptions of how you think things are going to happen. Regards Kirk
  16. For those asking about an "Academic Licence" its written here, while PMDG are often not as black and white as they could be.... this states that their general and personal training licenses will be handled in the same way as the FSX products. This means that you can log into PMDG's website and click buy now on a General and personal product. Happy to be corrected if I have interpreted this wrong, but this is my general understanding. Regards Kirk
  17. Im using a desk top, but i can look at turning off power saving modes. Regards Kirk
  18. Yeah I found out that it doesnt work either. Why i thought it worked was because i was able to do 2 circuits at Dubai Regards Kirk
  19. Load the default panel state, start the APU get that running, shut down your engines, save that state. Make sure what ever you do, your ADIRU does not loose power. When loading the FMC do not set your INT REF airport, just skip that and go to route. Seems to be a problem with the IRS/ADIRU Regards Kirk
  20. That's funny because BAV locked P3D out of their ACARS software, so none of this info is any good for their pilots, also why I'm no longer a member of BAV. Regards Kirk Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Standard PMDG sales policy Release the least popular model as the base package every one has to buy it, before they can get the one they want. Money making at its finest! Release the -200LR as an expansion, and only a handful of people will buy it, money down the drain. Engine Policy, then why not release the -300ER first, same engines, more popular model, but then when the -200LR is released it wont make money.

If you turn off FAC1 on the overhead you will force the aircraft into Direct Law and will remove all protections, the Airbus then becomes like a Boeing, that is if you push the stick left and leave it there, you will roll over. Regards Kirk
