  1. Hi Spook, Actually, I already had FSX in C\:Microsoft Flight Simulator but then I realised I didn't install it in the right user account so I uninstalled and installed it in my user account and now I have access. Thanks for your help anyway. XCLTM3 - Thanks for your advice. I've had a look at Word Not Allowed's page. I don't get where to look. Do you have to read everything and add tweaks as you go along or what? Also in case i choose Bojote's service if I don't want to get too complex what's the process to overwrite the .cfg with Bojote's offering? Can I just use Save As in wordpad? Richard OK just found the right page on Word Not Allowed's. Thanks to everyone for your help. Richard
  2. Hi, I'm after some huge help as I am totally lost. I have just bought a new computer with Win 7 64-bit. I can't remember how to overwrite the .cfg with Bojote's tweaked .cfg but anyway i can't save any change to the .cfg as I can't get permissions. I've followed directions I've Googled on ownership and permissions but I'm not getting anywhere and can't figure out what to do next. Is there anybody out there who can give me some nice steps to follow to make it work so that I can use the 737NGX again? Richard Wade
  3. This is what I found: If you, in FSX under Settings-Display-Weather, tick 'Disable turbulence and thermal effects on aircraft' and untick 'Enable wind turbulence' and 'Enable wind shear' in REX E Config Manager - Winds, your 737 should be back to flying like a dream while you still have all the other REX E weather. Richard Wade
  4. Well, I have to differ somewhat. It's a visually stunning package but has a few problems. For Australia most of the waypoints are missing which makes using the flight planner almost useless and in that flight planner the upper winds listed for the few waypoints that exist are totally wrong. Most importantly, I and others have experienced uncontrollable flight of the 737 in REX E at upper altitudes whether in command mode or when hand flying. See the post with a title something like 'Strange Issues During Flights' under PMDG 737NGX to see the same problem experienced by a number of users and the solution. Richard Wade
  5. Sorry, kjjj11223344. Didn't read your post properly. I've now ticked that box and will see if it makes a difference tomorrow. Also, thanks JakobF. I needed to read that this isn't just happening to me. Tomorrow, I'm going to put the Turbulence strength and WindShear strength in RexE config manager to zero and see what happens. Richard Wade
  6. Thanks kjjj11223344 but it's not that as I've never had that ticked. Richard Wade
  7. Me too but my 737 doesn't just roll it turns to the left and right whether I have it in command or I'm hand flying it. My suspect was Rex Essentials real world weather because it never did it before I installed Essentials but has done it nearly every time since. I hope someone has solved this problem for themselves and can tell us about it here. Richard Wade
  8. I was reading through the posts that came out straight after the SP1c release and saw the initial problems. What really impressed me was Ryan's immediate responses and then the availability of the new 1c patch. All that on a weekend! You guys are just great!Downloading the patch now and looking forward to starting Tutorial 2. Been looking forward to it since Ryan mentioned it last year and was hoping that things would settle down so that Ryan could put it out there. I'm sure it will be great.Richard Wade
  9. Yes!! Just flew and landed and taxiied in with no freezes but the flight only used FSX weather with clear skies theme selected like Robert said to try in a post a couple of weeks back. No REX and no ORBX airport. I have not installed any hotfix as my 737 had been going really well before the last 3 flights. This really is a sensational simulation and when this freeze thing is sorted out it will be the best thing since sliced bread. Richard Wade
  10. I'm another one having this freeze problem. Funny thing is that it only started to happen in the last 3 flights. Before that - no problem. It's like it's starting to self destruct. Many people suggesting fixes in this forum don't seem to understand the problem. FSX does not freeze. It continues just fine. Only the 737NGX freezes - all instruments, displays and controls freeze and only on approach or on touchdown. Other problems: - flight director steers away from the magneta line on the ND to the right at an angle of 30 degrees after a turn. - symbology on bottom of HGS is hidden by glareshield so the combiner is in front of the glareshield but the lower symbology is behind the glareshield. 11. To everyone in the PMDG Team, I'm just astounded and I haven't even had time to move the aircraft from the gate yet. The sound inside the aircraft when engines are off and APU and aircon running is just so genuine for all of us who have been 737 passengers. The PMDG Setup functions etc within the CDU are just awesome. I've just become a student pilot in real-life and now I'm wondering how to find time for it and the 737 together with all the reading. Maybe it's time for us to have 35 hour days! Congratulations to you all and thanks. Richard Wade
  12. Hooray!Captain's manuals have just arrived at my place in Perth, Australia after 32 days wait. No, I don't have any praise for the standard of service from USPS, Australian Customs and Border Service, or Australia Post although without specific info I don't know which of them were causing the hold-up.One thing I can definitely say is that I have heaps of praise for PMDG. Another greatly detailed product made available to simmers who really want to learn about aviation and make it all as real as possible.Richard Wade
  13. Here I sit,Broken hearted. My manuals and me,Still are parted.I'm another Australian customer who placed my order 20 or 21 days ago and am still waiting. I chose USPS too. Checking the USPS Tracking Confirmation on line shows that my package left Chicago on 10 Dec. I haven't read every single message on this forum on this issue so if the following has been mentioned, I'm sorry. I see that Ryan has written that some countries' Customs Services are holding up packages. I was thinking that the main culprit could be the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service. Every single package (yes, every single one) that enters Australia is electronically screened for illegal contents. Some are physically opened for further checking. I guess at this time of year the backlog of packages must be as long as Runway 34L at Sydney. I ordered hardware from the USA a few years ago. It took around two months to get to me. I have a vague memory that it was at this time of year. That international courier had a great tracking system and it showed every single place that the package moved through. It was at the international mail centre in Sydney being held up by Customs for weeks and weeks.I think it's great that our government goes to such lengths to look after our security and our laws for us. I really appreciate it. It's just that in the year 2010, this sort of delay just isn't acceptable. It's about time that they employed enough Customs Officers to give an efficient service to us.Richard Wade
  14. Brian and Callum,Hooray!!!! Success!!!!I have turned off the speakers so that there is no background noise at all now. All sound now comes through the headset and FS2Crew now works perfectly. That was the problem. Maybe my microphone is just very sensitive. You both mentioned the voice recognition deafness and the background noise as possible problems so thanks for your help. Talking about it in a forum often crystallises things. Brian, I already had the other things you mentioned in your last post set and it's so nice to see a developer taking such an active interest. I really appreciate that.It was just so much fun to have it working like clockwork. What a great product. An even bigger reason that it has made me so happy is that now I can look forward to buying the voice commander for my PMDG 747 (already using FS2Crew button version) and later, the voice commander for the PMDG 737 NGX when it is released.Richard
  15. Thanks for your help, Dan. I read Ryan's article on the problem and am totally lost so I took the offer in his article for the support guys to fix it and have submitted a ticket with the dll attached.I guess it should be fine soon.Richard
