  1. Understood  My aim was to inform those interested in the current status of an (underappreciated?), complete, easy and still being developed ATC program.
  2. I am no expert, recent user; however in response to the above, the VoxATC manual states This version of VoxATC has five types of emergency currently defined, these are: engine failure fuel low hydraulic failure avionics failure passenger critically ill You can make any standard request, but will most frequently want vectors to the nearest suitable airport. Again from the manual: The code used to designate a procedure (SID/STAR), is usually an abbreviated form of the procedure name. VoxATC must translate this to the designation that will be used in ATC comms. This process is not perfect and in some cases, can produce incorrect spoken designations. The Procedure Pronunciation Editor allows for the definition of replacements for unpronounceable parts of a procedure name on an airport by airport basis. Load Airport To start, select Load Airport on the menu and enter the ICAO code of the airport into the displayed dialog. A tree view on the left side of the form displays the airport name and two sub items SIDS and STARS Again from the manual Flying in UK / European Airspace VoxATC uses different phraseology and procedures when you are flying in the UK or Europe. Frequencies are given using 'decimal' instead of 'point'. QNH and QFE are used for altimeter setting. The transition altitude is 3500. 'Pass your message' replaces 'go ahead' 'Ready for departure' replaces 'ready for takeoff'. A UK supplement is available that adds LARS, DACS, MATZ and FISO and A/G phraseology, see VoxATC.com for further information SO I hope you can see it is a fairly comprehensive effort Again, just from a user , no company affiliation
  3. VoxATC controls its own AI with ATC. It has multiple free voices when you purchase the program. They are not superb quality, but that's not so bad for AI realism  you can individually set volume and speed levels for those voices. For high quality voices you can purchase them (not inexpensively ) from 3rd Party to use as ATC controller/s, (the seperately purchased voices can also be changed phonetically if you find PA28 is pronounced pa twenty eight instead of P A 28. You can fly IFR or VFR- if you just want a Pattern at Airport, if it's Controlled, it will give ATC without a Flight Plan. It has been around for along time, you can download for a week (I think) free , to make sure you can come to grips with MS voice recognition, etc A fly in the ointment is that a new version was released 6.06 recently, which some people have had voice recognition problems ( the dev says a new version is coming to overcome that (I don't know when). SO I'd highly recommend it; but just not at the ^_^ moment There is a support forum here at AVSIM
  4. I haven't upgaded yet. The previous version is my first installtion of VoxATC I would sometimes wonder if my mike was being heeard, or bad speech, etc., when I first installed it. Win7 Speech Recognition- I sometimes noticed it would be off, not really sure if it was because I was jumping back and forth to Speech,Microphone setup, etc. I forget now if I had it set to ON, but now I have it in Sleeping Mode, This seems to keep up with my jumping between outside dialogs, etc I can't remember now if that was suggested in the manual or not, but perhaps if you try that it might help? ben
  5. Talk to ATC, have AI traffic controlled by VoxATC, expected responses given on a seperate window. so you know what you're supposed to say. I've had another product where I wasn't given the text assistance, and I wasn't sure if the lack of response was my setup or my expected responses. Voices: You can choose one or multiple voices with speed, volume and role chosen by you. - so you don''t have to have AI voices the same as the controller(s). They take a while to load on initial setup, and they are not crystal clear; but, that seems perfect for AI of different speed, volumes. You can buy a large number of (not inexpensive) voices if you prefer: https://www.google.com/url?q=http://forum.avsim.net/topic/362991-additional-voices/&sa=U&ei=1IP4UOCGNs_rmAWs0YCQCQ&ved=0CA0QFjAC&client=internal-uds-cse&usg=AFQjCNFFyGtZjsMYNsadcZaLQ4D_kqCpiQ Best of all you can get a free trial period to see for yourself
  6. A2A for ACCUFEEL Puts life into EVERY fs aircraft-amazing, a real smile on face product.
  7. Great. Thanks for very well done video. Merry Christmas to you. (what's the music ?)
  8. Whoops! This landing light (not the above Taxi light ) might be better :-) - you can also have both Taxi and Landing lights on at the same time as well of course. http://
  9. I have external and VC lights showing on my system. http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/images/2012/10/07/nOUE8.png[/img]"]http://
  10. Not sure really. Do you have AccuFeel installed, the ver 1 does not reduce outside noises when you press the FSX 'q' quiet button ? ben
  11. CT182T Skylane FSX/P3D Service Pack (2) Improves: Display Backup button (red one in the audio panel) operative for turning on/of engine section in PFD. Improved click areas of G1000 knobs. Several minor issues of G1000 (sequence clicks and information). You don´t need to download the service pack if you downloaded the aircraft after August 30th, 2012 1630 GMT
  12. -In case this got lost in the must fix section from HawkDsl- Serv Pk 1 released. From Carenado: CT182T Skylane FSX/P3D Service Pack (1) 20120822 Fixes: Multiplayer flood issue Frozen compass Duplicated letter when typing airport identification in G1000 STD BARO number setting Improves: Internal sounds Click spots areas of G1000 STBY BATT switch operative for startup Calibrated TIT and EGT readout 2D ADF (with the autopilot windows) for easiness manipulation. Wrong messages in the PFD when using autopilot. Special feature added: One click spot added on the upper left corner of each PFD and MFD for turning on/off the 3D screen. This will improves performance if you fly using only 2D windows or not using the MFD in the VC.
  13. Bert. That's fantastic, thanks for you efforts. -the 1000 knob would be great for 15000 plus. Ben
  14. Thanks again Bert. ps Is there a place in the manual that describes the use of the MFD knob for selection I saw the G1000 manual has breakdown of soft keys and what they do ?
  15. Thanks very much Bert. On another selection difficulty :-) Checklists. I cant seem to consistently be able to choose different Checklist GROUPs. -once available I can move up and down easily; but getting the option to change groups is a challenge which sometimes defeats me. I use a laptop with a touchpad, so I'm not sure if I'm missing a mouse wheel scroll capability or not. Thanks again. ben
  16. Am I the only person who can't select 1000ft increments on the Altitude control knob ( only 100's :-( ) I have a laptop with no mouse, so I need MUCH LARGer Clickspots ps: The 2d window with Mouse movement explanations, has a 'C90' heading.
  17. Dont forget the Carenado Bonanza V35B
  18. ORBX people say that during development they've found top end sysems with nVidia cards are run inwindow mode rather than Full Screen-might be worth a try if you're running in full screen mode.
  19. A must have. The screech(sp?) of brakes on the default C172 made me realize how bad my taxying technique was.Taxi slower, then went onto some grass next to the taxiway, the plane started bobbing up and down with newer sounds,I'm not sure but I think just after takeoff when trying to remember my rotation speed, I got another little wheel sound to say I'm off.Tried acceleration stall attempt on downwind , the noise and buffeting made me level off again. This is just with the defaut C172!A must have.Thank you A2A.
  20. JimThe readme on my Acceleration Installation disk, says:Installing Flight Simulator X: AccelerationIf your computer does not support automatic installation, we recommend that you install Flight Simulator X: Acceleration per the following instructions to ensure the best experience. You must have Flight Simulator X Standard or Deluxe installed and activated before installing Flight Simulator X: Acceleration. If you have not installed Flight Simulator X Service Pack 1 (from fsinsider.com) before installing the expansion pack, Flight Simulator X: Acceleration Setup will install it. So, because I was intalling everything manually, I installed it myself, then Acceleration - and it worked. Thanks
  21. JimThanks for the info on the event viewer.I did get acceleration to work.I opened the disk to manually install:- run setup - 3 items clickable on the dialog[ (from memory):conditions of use, readme, install Acceleration item] - not sure if I clicked all of these last time- read the readme! - It said you need to install FSX SP1 before installing Acceleration I had forgotten that ( and not sure if an automatic setup would do that); but I went to the recommended fsinsider.com to dowload SP1. I then istalled Acceleration without any problem. Thanks for your help.
  22. Thanks JimHaving an un expected work day at present , so it willbe a day or so before I can try these things (EVeNT VIEWER?) (No to SP1 a nd SP2)ben BarnstormerYes I did that.Thanks.
