Automatic Registration Process
I had to do, what seems to be, an annual reinstall of fs9 a few weeks ago. When reinstalling RC, I ended up getting 3 keys,24 hours later, because of Doug's post in April that said keys should arrive in 15 minutes. Turns out, I needed a new computer, so here I am a month later doing it all over again. This time, I got smart and only sent 1 email, but at the 20 hour mark, I'm still waiting. No, it's not in the spam. Matt Collins

LNAV drifts, won't hold course
Well, the testing continues. I've disabled all the scenery except default. Even disabled the addon scenery folder to eliminate all the afcad files, no weather or wind. I even disconnected the joystick and flew with the keyboard. I haven't done that since FS3!! (Yes I go back that far.) Also tried with the default magdec file and the repair file that's available. It still drifts off course, not anywhere near as bad, but still enough to be given corrections by atc. With no wind, I'd expect it to be spot on. Hopefully, someone has a suggestion, because I'm stumped. Matt Collins

LNAV drifts, won't hold course
Stll don't understand how repairing the registry would fix the problem in FS9 or FSX. It didn't here. The stray afcad sounds the most plausible. I'd forgotten that from earlier FS versions. Sometimes scenery desginers, either don't know or get lazy and don't properly define the limits of the scenery. That being said, putting the magdec file in it's own folder (both the original and the replacement available online were tried and gave it top priority. Didn't help. I may have to live with it. I have way to many addon sceneries and even more afcad files. It would take me way too much time between loading and flight setup time. Matt Collins

LNAV drifts, won't hold course
While it may be a well known issue, none of the prescribed fixes appear to work. Tried the magdec replacement as well. Kind of funny to watch the icon track 30 degrees left of course and fly sideways along the route. Some suggestsions in another forum say it could be a scenery file for an obscure airport causing the problem, but seeing as I've got around 300 sceneries installed (I've been at this awhile), adding and removing each is not a realistic option. It's suggested that moving the magdec to it's own folder and giving it #1 priority, but I think that will only fix mag variations on the ground. I have noticed that though my LVL-D 767 is tracking the route properly, when I assign a heading, it track 5-10 degrees off course too. The solution of turning off the winds aloft seems kind of counterproductive. Kind of takes the fun out of planning based on winds aloft. Kind of like saying the autoland works great as long as the weather is CAVU. But that's me. Back to more digging. Matt Collins

LNAV drifts, won't hold course
Hopefully someone has an answer. I'm at a loss. I'm flying the 747 and 737-600/700 on FS9 on Windows 7 64 bit. All of a sudden, lately, neither one will hold a course using LNAV on the auto pilot. They continuously drift to the right, about 3 to 4 miles for every 10 flown, even with a quartering wind from the right. . I have uninstalled and reinstalled both. FSUIPC has been reinstalled with the most current version, and turbulence is disabled in FSUIPC and the sim options. My LevelD 767 does not have the same problem. If anyone has any ideas, I'd be happy to hear them. Matt Collins

AS6.5 not working (again)
Does it use the same servers that Microsoft uses for the stock weather in FS9 and FSX? Those haven't updated in about a week. Matt Collins

Add on Manager.
I've been using Additpro for a lot of years now from Byteforge. Great help in managing all that scenery and aircraft. He's always been quick to respond o questions I've had, also. Matt

Better AFCAD for ImagineSim KATL?
Don't know for sure if I downloaded it from their site, or if it came with the package. I have a pair of afcad files from Imaginesim. One with static a/c and one without. There is a file in the scenery folder marked parked aircraft, or something like that. Move it, delete it, or change it to a temp file, then you insert the appropriate afcad. They released an update last year, but I haven't installed it. It appears to actually have fewer parking spots than the one I have. I don't see the old afcad option on their site anymore. PC Aviator ?
No question about PC Aviator, specifically. Just makin some decisions about future flight sim purchases. Also, I haven't received a single issue since last year. Matt Collins

Can anyone tell me if the owner of the PC Aviator website was also the owner of Computer Pilot magazine when it went belly up, last year? Matt Collins

P-51 panel
Hey, nice catch. The gauges are nonfunctional, but still looks a little better than the "strapped to the front of the plane" default view. : )Matt

DLC Issue
No need. I got it from Microsofts website. I went looking to find out and amazingly, found the answer. MS says it is only available to the gamertag thaat downloaded it.Matt

Help with altitude with Icon
That's what I did while flying the beta. Kind of a wingover with a 180 back to the other end then turn back and climb. I haven't tried it in the final version, but in the beta, the shifting winds could be absolutely brutal coming out of that canyon. Really made you stay on your toes.Matt

DLC Issue
I finally found something that I'm not "happy" with. Apparently DLC is only usable by one person on the computer. The DLC is only available to the gamertag it was downloaded by. If you have someone else, in my case my son, who wants to develop his own stats, you have to pay and download it a second time.Matt

My 2.5 cents
I think it was pretty clear, when I started with the beta, what Flight was and what it wasn't. From the postings here and on the beta message board it's also obvious what a lot of people expected. I like many others was waiting to see what the next generation would bring. While I'm disappointed that it's not FS11, for what it is, it's not too bad. I've been simming since 1989 with either FS3 or 4, I forget. So I have little bit of history here. I remember buying the Airport and Scenery designer just to make my home field a little more than the colored squares that I got out of the box. Scenery wise this is head and shoulders above that. It responds better than FSX ever did framewise. Is it "real world"? No, but I'm not going to get all worked up about it. I'll take it for what it is. A game with a touch of simulation thrown in. I stiil use FS9 on a regular basis. I have 3-400 different sceneries and 50 or 60 aircraft, not counting all the ai installed, commercial and freeware (Thank you Avsim) and it still runs great and looks pretty good. With all the time and money I have invested, I'm in no hurry to move on. Also have FSX but never really did much with it due to the performance issues early on. Am I going to keep Flight installed? Yeah, I guess. When I'm in the mood for goofing off and chasing aerocaches or stuff like that, I'll use it. When I feel like shooting approaches or working on navigation skills, I'll use FS9.I guess my point is there's no reason for people to get there blood pressure up. We have too many options to enjoy ourselves to get all worked up. There's obviously a still very active FS community out there with new additions coming out all the time. On the bright side, I always seemed to "need" a new computer for every other FS version that came out. So look at all the money I'll save.Just MHOMatt

P-51 panel
And it seems to quadruple by the second. As far as the panel, it would be nice to be able to at least see manifold pressure to adjust the prop. I hate guessing. At least if I blow this engine, all I have to do is reboot. : )Matt

Membership date
Was perusing my profile and noticed that it shows my member since date of 2010, but I know I've been a member since before 2003. I assume it's because of the hacking incident, but was just curious if that's true because I do see people on here with dates like 2006, etc. I don't post a lot because I find there are a lot of people that are more expert than me, so even now I still show as a newbie, but I was just curious.Matt

P-51 panel
Thanks guys. I knew I'd get an answer here a lot quicker than wading through MS's site. Avsim's never failed yet. Too bad we can't design one.Matt

P-51 panel
Figured I'd try here first before I tried MS support. Can anyone tell me if there's a panel for the P51? I got it for being a beta tester and dl'd it. Extrior model looks ok, but there's no panel. Can't find any control listed like the "W" in FS. Searched the forum, but no one's asked, so far.Matt

Zantop AI Flightplans
You da' man, that's the one. For some reason that Retro AI page, I must have missed it in my hour of searches. My mind must have been mush, I'd been reinstalling scenery all afternoon. Thanks,Matt
