March 3, 201214 yr I finally found something that I'm not "happy" with. Apparently DLC is only usable by one person on the computer. The DLC is only available to the gamertag it was downloaded by. If you have someone else, in my case my son, who wants to develop his own stats, you have to pay and download it a second time.Matt
March 3, 201214 yr Moderator Let me ask over in the beta forum to see what's up with that. It may be just the way it is, but let's find out for sure before we get too excited about it... :Praying: Fr. March 3, 201214 yr Author No need. I got it from Microsofts website. I went looking to find out and amazingly, found the answer. MS says it is only available to the gamertag thaat downloaded it.Matt
March 3, 201214 yr Moderator Well, that's disappointing. I'd already asked the question though. I shudder to think what it might cost someone with a passel of kids that all got the "Flight bug!" Yikes! :shok: Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
March 3, 201214 yr Author You're not kidding. In case there's a question, here's the link to the support page where the question was asked.Matthttp://forums.xbox.com/gfw/technical_support/f/253/p/214327/1111269.aspx#1111269
March 3, 201214 yr Moderator For some silly reason, my IE8 refuses to load the MS/X-Box website addresses. I'll have to check from my flightsim rig in the other room tomorrow. I've got to get some sleep. Sixteen+ hours here for the past three days has pretty much wiped me out! Fr. March 3, 201214 yr At least you are able to download stuff for Flight, which is more than I could do when I tried to. MS are not going to make much money off me if I can't buy stuff from them when I try to do so LOLIronically enough, I did manage to buy something for FSX off A2A tonight though.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
March 3, 201214 yr If you have someone else, in my case my son, who wants to develop his own stats, you have to pay and download it a second timeWow. I think this is a terrible error of judgement by Microsoft. Glad I live alone and my cat does not fly.
March 3, 201214 yr This is now getting a bit ridiculous in my opinion. I mean come on Microsoft, are you really that desperate that you must charge multiple times of a single household? Even MS Office doesn't do that and even allows installation on more than one computer (although I think the limit is three). The more I hear about Flight, the more I feel it will be collecting dust on my virtual shelf (since there's no box). Right next to my copy of X Plane 9. Edited March 3, 201214 yr by flightluuvr
March 3, 201214 yr Flight and the DLC can be installed on as many PC's as you like using just one account.I think that is very fair !Fred. Frederic Steiner.
March 3, 201214 yr Glad I live alone and my cat does not fly.Wanna bet? What do you think it does when you are sleeping? \Robert Hamlich/
March 3, 201214 yr This is now getting a bit ridiculous in my opinion. I mean come on Microsoft, are you really that desperate that you must charge multiple times of a single household? Strange indeed. They could keep the installation policy with 1 gamertag but offer nonetheless more profiles which are maintained offline. Phil Leaven i5 10600KF, 32 GB 3200 RAM, ASUS 4070 12GB EVO, Asus ROG Z490-H, 2 WD Black NVME for each Win11 (500GB) and MSFS (1TB), Rolling Cache 16GB, Photogrammetry always OFF, Live Weather and Live Traffic always ON, Res 2560x1440 on 27"
March 3, 201214 yr Notice also how there is no development kit available. Microsoft's attitude is "You get it from us or you get it from nobody!" So much for hobbyists developing their own aircraft or scenery. And with each member of the household having to pay for their own DLCs, it's a real little money spinner. I'm quite surprised they didn't think of this with previous Flight Sim versions. Bill Gates is getting slack in his old age.
March 3, 201214 yr Apparently, few remember the Screaming and whining when PAYWARE addons first came out. WHAT!?!?! Charge 20 dollars for a bunch of pixels?!?! I'll never do it! These devs are crazy if they think the communitywill stand for that. The more things change; the more they remain the same.RB Flight gamertag = ronzo155
March 3, 201214 yr Commercial Member Now;have a bite of your own medicine !!THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT MEAN - NO SDK !!!!!!!!!!!You all are under the control of MS and they can do exactly what they want with you !!they will Milk you as much and as far they can !!
