March 24, 201313 yr As6.5 servers either are not working or demand for bandwidth is too great....in any case, AS6.5 is not connecting to HiFi Datanet. This is becoming a recurring issue especially on weekends. I was wondering if Jim S. could comment. It's a superb weather engine and is a huge impact when it is not available. Thanks. Rich Perry
March 24, 201313 yr Hi Rich, For what it is worth. I just fired up As6.5 and it took longer for the interface to load than it did to connect and retrieve / download the weather data. Of course one time does not establish a pattern or a trend. With the other weather program versions of theirs now on line also, (if the same server is used), it may very well be bandwidth issue during high demand periods. BTW I agree, some of the best money I have ever spent on FS9! Regards, Mel
March 24, 201313 yr HiFi's reputation for outstanding weather programs is certainly proven, but recently it's server reliability has started to slip.RJ
March 24, 201313 yr Hi, Jim S doesn't work for HiFi any longer and doesn't have AS 6.5 installed at this time.
March 24, 201313 yr The primary server is up and responding - the secondary server is not as of 2106Z.
March 25, 201313 yr Does it use the same servers that Microsoft uses for the stock weather in FS9 and FSX? Those haven't updated in about a week. Matt Collins
March 25, 201313 yr Commercial Member Hi, We experienced network problems approximately 3 months ago, and since then have completely overhauled our server network system hardware as well as software and added a new server and network location. We have had no reports of problems until about 24 hours ago, where due to our AS2012 SP2 release and associated heavy traffic, as well as unrelated internet issues in UK and Italy have resulted in a few users having connectivity problems. We try to respond as quickly and efficiently to problems reported, and have worked very hard to improve our network and related services, as well as provide all the changes and enhancements to our entire product line as requested by our users. We have not, from day 1, over 10 years ago, "let" anything slip and have worked the hardest we can within our ability to provide the best software and services that we can. Regarding this latest event, we have reconfigured some routing and traffic policies and have added additional download mirrors to prevent the SP2 upgrade from affecting other wx-related services. We are also in process of adding even more network servers/hardware to further increase performance and availability of all services. If you are a user of any of our software products (current, or past legacy products such as ASv6) please contact us (support.hifitechinc.com), we would love the opportunity to help solve the issues you are experiencing.
