  1. Yes Dylan, it's my case. It happens with Olbia X (LIEO) add-on airport.
  2. Peter, Kevin, Jamaljé, many thanks to all of you for your help. Andrea
  3. Ok Jamaljé, since I would like to manage the 737NGX at the gate using only its "panel states" and I'm still rather inexperienced, which panel state should I choose? Cold & dark? But my aim was not to start the flight from cold & dark state and, let me say, I don't understand why a plane, with engines idle, should move from its position with parking brakes applied.
  4. I've noticed a strange behavior of the 737NGX. While I'm preparing the flight (over the time) the plane (with parking brakes applied) slides forward a few meters. In other words, when I start the flight, I can see (spot view) the 737NGX is exactly in the assigned parking place. Ten / fifteen minutes later, it is some meters forward. Sure to have parking brakes applied. Andrea
  5. Dear AngelT, I think that you'd better post such kind of issues directly in the AVSIM WIN8 OS Forum.
  6. Hmm... good news. With UIAtomationCore.dll (file ver. 6.0.5840.16386, dim. 155 KB) copyed in FSX root folder (C:\FSX in my case) erratic FSX fatal errors occurred using FSX full screen menu (ALT keyboard command) seem to be solved.
  7. Dear Vu, downloaded UIAtomationCore.dll from the web and copied in FSX root folder (C:\FSX in my case). Now I'm going to test if full screen menu usage (ALT keyboard command) still causes erratic FSX fatal errors. Andrea
  8. Regarding the UIAtomationCore.dll issue, I found this: *** WARNING *** Changing or deleting UIAtomationCore.dll in Windows 8 will break Modern interface. Any change to these objects will strip operating system and user interfaces elements without ability to repair other then system restore. And either by copying an older version of UIAtomationCore.dll in the FSX folder won't solve the problem completely. Andrea
  9. Using the very same hardware used earlier with Windows 7 x64, I can say that running FSX with Windows 8 x64 I noticed a (clearly) perceivable increase of FPS in all situations. Andrea
  10. Do anybody have sporadic "fatal errors" running FSX with Windows 8 x64, especially using menu (ALT command) in full screen mode? I'm experiencing this trouble. Andrea
  11. Ok, now I'm running the 737NGX at Olbia LIEO airport (with Olbia X add-on), starting from a gate with default NGX panel state, and everything seems to work well with Windows 8 x64. I found only one problem: FSX runs without problems until I open and use the full screen menu (ALT keyboard command) to access commands / settings (e.g. change settings, change time, change weather, change gate, save flight, etc.) after a while I receive an erratic FSX fatal error. The odd thing is that as long as i do not open and use the full screen menu (and alternatively use only keyboard command) FSX runs for hours without errors. Andrea
  12. Geoff, many thanks for your advice: (1) I have a Solid State Disk (Samsung 830 512 GB SATA 6.0Gb/s) and, as far as I know, it is strongly recommended not to defrag SSDs. (2) Lower in the same topic I wrote "... re-installed FSX from scratch in C:/FSX folder to avoid any problem resulting from various Windows protection and permission issues forced upon programs placed in the Program Files and Program Files (x86) directories...". Andrea
  13. Adenilson, I finally decided not to wait any longer and take the risk. Just bought, downloaded and installed the 737NGX base package and some liveries. As suggested by the introductory manual, before installing it I uninstalled and re-installed FSX from scratch in C:/FSX folder to avoid any problem resulting from various Windows protection and permission issues forced upon programs placed in the Program Files and Program Files (x86) directories, and tweaked fsx.cfg using Bojote's automated FSX Tweaking & Tuning Service. Now I'm running the 737NGX with FSX in Windows 8 Pro x64!!! For the moment it seems that everithing is ok... Andrea
  14. Adenilson, I'm pretty sure that the 737NGX is more than an excellent product, also because I'm quite familiar with PMDG aircrafts: I flew the 737 NG for years, after the 747-400, after the 747-400X and after the MD-11X. My point here is not the quality but if I have to expect some kind of trouble running the 737 NGX in Windows 8 x64. Andrea
  15. Adenilson, I'm evaluating to buy the 737NGX and I woldn't take a step into the darkness, because I definitely cannot turn back to Windows 7. SP2 for 737NGX? Good news!!! And when does PMDG plan to release SP2 of 737NGX? Andrea
  16. I don't see any official position on PMDG part. How can I interpret this silence? Is this a tacit admission that there are problems running 737NGX on Windows 8? Andrea
  17. I have a cordless joystick (Logitech Freedom 2.4) so I shuldn't have dropuots... Andrea
  18. Dear PMDG, I've installed FSX on a Windows 8 Pro x64 clean installation. Initially I had some troubles (sporadic sys errors) with FSX. I solved everything uninstalling and re-installing FSX, following carefully this sequence: install FSX (Deluxe Edition), run FSX and load a flight (don't save), close FSX, restart system, install FSX-SP1, run FSX and load a flight (don't save), close FSX, install FSX-SP2, run FSX and load a flight (don't save), close FSX, restart system, run (manually) windows update, run / configure FSX settings. Then installed FSUIPC 4.853 add-on and AI traffic (WOAI). After this procedure FSX runs (for hours) without any problem. In this environment I've installed the PMDG MD-11 X that seems to work properly (I had some flights apparently without any trouble). Now, I would like to buy (and fly) the 737NGX, so the questions are: - Is the 737NGX compatible with this FSX / Windows 8 x64 environment? - If not, what are the known issues and what is PMDG doing to fix them? Andrea Windows 8 Pro x64 / Intel Core i7 3770 3.40 GHz / ASUS P8P67 PRO / RAM Kingston HyperX 16 GByte DDR3-1600 (4 x 4GByte) / SSD Samsung 830 512 GByte / ASUS nVidia GTX 460 1 GByte RAM / LCD LED Samsung Monitor 1920 x 1080
  19. Definitely Boeing 787 Dreamliner.Andrea
  20. Dear Mr. Randazzo, beyond whatever expectation. In your web site there is a page (737NGX) waiting to be filled of contents and pictures. Please, let us peep a bit more in this new stunning gear.Andrea
  21. Will be available 2D cockpits for wide screen videos (e.g. 1366 x 768) with 737 NGX?Andrea
  22. 737 NGX (with 2D panels for wide screen) as soon as possible!!!Andrea
  23. What about new FLIGHT (sim) announcement from Microsoft? Any more info?Andrea
  24. At the end of the day, the new 737 NGX seems to be another step beyond in flight simulation ... look forward to have more info - and pictures - about the "gear" ... and hope it will be released soon ...AndreaPS. I would have preferred a "clean" cockpit ...
