  1. Hi guys. When the 737 NGX comes out, recommended requirements are, among other things a 1 Gig Graphics card. It was mentioned that the NGX and MD11 had similar needs. Now I have upgraded to an Asus P8P67 Pro, 2500K with 4 gig of memory but I still have an ATI 4850 with 512 meg. What is the difference you would see between a 512 and 1Gig card. I do intend later on to upgrade to a 460GTX or better but I would say that the NGX should be out before I get my new card. Cheers
  2. Hi I admire the tenacity you have for getting this near perfect. I wonder if God spent more time on the heavens and earth what he could have achieved. I fear 7 days was a tad rushed. Brett Nicholls
  3. Thanks Robert for the update. Good things are worth waiting for. It sounds like the NGX is the most sophisicated sim aircraft ever produced. Undoubtedly what is learned from this endeavour will make the production of future sim aircraft a little if not a lot less time consuming. I am glad that you are taking the time to get all the systems right because at this stage if I flicked a switch and the wrong light come I would not know the difference. Looking forward to the release.
  4. Hi I'm no expert but if it only happens when your graphics card is coming into play it may be that. Maybe pull out card and check to see if heatsink is free from dust. I had to do this with my ATI 4850. Cheers
  5. Thanks for your thoughts Guys. The Asus is $5 bucks cheaper. I know Asrock has been around awhile but you do feel safer with the bigger brand names. I have had an Asus p5b delux for the past couple of years and it has served me well. Even on this forum I see mostly Asus and Gigabyte used. I did wonder how much of a difference the 16+2 power phase of the Asrock over the 12+2 of the Asus. I'll still probably stick with Asus. Cheers
  6. Hi I'm building a new unit for FSX so was wondering if you think I should stick with Asus P8p67 Pro or the ASRock P67 Extreme6. Both are simalary priced. Thanks Guys
  7. Oh my God, I'm going over to Europe for 5 weeks in the middle of the year. I know I am going to have withdrawal symptoms. They should have Flight Sim Cafes, with all the latest adds-ons. Where am I going? Greece, Rome, Paris and then to England. I'm just hoping to run into an airshow somewhere. Mind you i think my first flight is on a 747. Can't wait.
  8. Hi to all. Still patiently waiting for the NGX. I have a A2A Piper Cub and with Accu Sim applied it is a very cool plane to fly. I love the way it taxis. Accu Sim have applied their software to a couple of four engine aircraft as well as some other high proformance aircraft and looking at their promo videos look very impressive. So I'm wondering how would a commercial jet airliner go with Accu Sim applied to it, mainly the 737NGX. Anyway just a thought. I'll just keep waiting.
  9. O.k thanks anyway. Will there be any video clips released of the 737 before its release or will it just be put up for everyone to dig in.
  10. Hi PMDG. I remember reading that all the manuals that are for sale regarding the 737 NGX are also available with the download when the aircraft comes out.If I bought the full set with my New Zealand exchange rate it equates to $434.00. Its a hell of a lot of money, over half of my weekly take home pay. Even theCaptains Flight Manual set would set me back $328. Just as a comparison, if the 737NGX is the same cost the MD11 it would be around $104 N.Z I'm not saying they are not worth it, just a high cost.Is there anyway you can make the PDFs available for download even if there is a cost which is then maybe set as a deposit for the 737NGX. I dont even mind paying the whole lot for the plane. The fact is we dont know how far the release date is away and being able to go through some info which is available for the aircraft would be brilliant. As much as I would love to buythe proper manuals my budget does not allow me to justify the purchase. Brett Nicholls
  11. Hi PMDG. Just wondering for a little Christmas present if we could have maybe a video clip of the 737 Ngx. The photos and the video of the HUG were great but would be nice to a take off down the runway and climbing out to a couple of thousand feet. Anyway all of you at PMDG have a good Christmas and a happy New Year. Regards Brett Nicholls
  12. Hi PMDG. Just wondering if the 737ngx comes close to what boeing would use for their real world simulators. Seeing on Youtube Home made cockpits with real panels and gauges makes me think it must be very close. Could Boeing use this software on their simulator. Brett Nicholls
  13. Hi just wondering where you guys sit with sound cards. Do you use them or stick with onboard sound. I know that a lot of modern motherboards produce good sound but when your trying to extract every cpu cycle for graphics a card helps. I have aCreative SB Audigy 2 ZS. I would be interested to read your thoughts. Brett Nicholls
  14. Hi PMDG. Regarding the manuals what would you consider to be the first to buy to get you going. Please remember a lot of us are on a budget. Brett Nicholls
  15. Its definitly a hobby. We all obviously have a passion for aviation whether we actaully fly, or just admire the grace and beauty of something thats floats on air. The roar of a jet engine, the crackle of and idling vee 12 merlin or even the smell of burnt aviation gas. Simulation allows us to pilot planes that most of us could not afford to own or train for. A game? You shouldn't need to ask the question. Brett Nicholls
  16. Hi Robert, I guess we are all anxious and just chomping at the bit but at the end of the day we will wait until it is ready. In the meantime can you give us some indication of the specs that will need to run the ngx 737. Not having bought a PMDG productbefore ( I have bought other add on aircaft ) I would like to know if my system is going to come upto scratch. I am running a ATI 4850 512 meg and I have seen other aircraft that you have, requiring a card with 1 gig.Cheers Brett Nicholls
  17. Hi everyone. I suppose I might be getting a little bit impatient but was wondering now that there is not too months left in the year if anyone has heard when the 737 NGX was being released. Pictureslook really amazing. Is it a few weeks or maybe towards the end of the year? Regards Brett
