  1. Why don't you let the OP and the people at PMDG discuss the matter. If the people at PMDG want to answer his question they will, if not your lives will move on. I don't understand why so many of you feel the need to speak for others. People have their own voices, you don't need to be their voice... Suraj Hussain
  2. I love how all of you are so quick to speak for PMDG, if they want to answer the question, they will, if not, the user will know they don't want to be asked questions like this.
  3. I've said it before, our time is coming...people will get bored, people will want more out of the game. The average user will want to see the real aviation aspect, and will start demanding more realism from the game. People saw the game, and "were like, oh, it's free, it looks really good, let's get it" They did that, the game ran well on many systems, users were loving it. They decided, let's get more out of the game, "let's buy the rest of Hawaii and these planes because they look like a lot of fun". Then they hit a wall, "well I've done mostly everything that Flight has to offer" Then they go back to playing Call of Duty. Microsoft is going to see this eventually and decide, "well now we have to do something big, something that will really challenge the users. What's most fun and challenging? Learning to use VOR's, learning to fly ILS approaches, learning how to use an NDB, fully learning the capabilities of GPS', Doing an interesting mission where we have to use resort to partial panel because we have a pitot static failure, learning how to get better at Red Bull air races, doing a transatlantic flight just like real pilots do, the list really goes on and on.We will get what we want, again, give it time.
  4. Maybe you didn't read what I wrote. Those people want leaderboards and more multiplayer missions. Yes because that is fun for now, but most aviation enthusiasts will get bored of doing that sort of thing, and will eventually want what we all want. I'm not saying that day is very soon, but it will come. Just enjoy FSX for the time being, the game is still pretty young, considering what PMDG and REX and ORBx are all up to. EXACTLY! People just need to be patient, and think back to their first days of flight simming. I've said it before, but I'll say it again, I'm sure you all weren't flying ILS approaches from the get go, you get intrigued by that sort of thing as time progresses and you mature as an aviation enthusiast.
  5. Yes but people will get bored of just casually flying. There is only so many people that are interested in aviation. A certain time will come when they've attracted most of the people they've wanted, but then those people will want to actually shoot ILS/VOR/NDB etc approaches. They will want to talk to ATC in a realistic matter.Just think the first time you played Flight simulator, were you using it's full functionality? I'm guessing not. If I was playing any sort of flying game for the first time (I'm comparing it to my first time) I would love Flight. Well they're interested in what the mass audience wants, and when they see that the mass audience wants a more realistic experience (whatever that may be) Microsoft will start doing things that will make our hard core simming dreams come true.
  6. the way I look at it, who is really interested in aviation? A lot of people, but the people that will play the game now are those just like us that, when we first started out, just liked flying around and looking at scenery. But then that grew tiresome, and then we wanted more out of the game, and wanted to do more, we wanted a realistic experience. So how did we go about doing that? We started buying DLC. Now with the Flight has been going, it's been introducing the game a little better by giving that first time user a fun experience. As time goes on, that first time user will get bored and want more out of the game. Microsoft in my mind will see this, and start expanding their horizons and start appealing to us, the hard core simmer. I know it's a disappointment having to wait even longer, but I truly believe we will get the game we have always wanted. Granted it won't be any time soon, but I think it will happen.Keep high hopes! Enjoy the game for now, our day will come :)
  7. Lol, who cares if they're not making all that much, they could be negative in the millions and it wouldn't phase Microsoft. I agree though, they are definitely in the negatives right now, but with their current business model, they are going to make a lot of money, that is for sure. You're kind of forced into buying the DLC. Us being the way we are, we want to buy it all, because I don't think it would be all that fun flying from CYYZ to KSEA with little scenery in between. What if we want to practice forced approaches, or use certain waypoints along route, it's going to be difficult to do that without the scenery. <-- Just examplesPoint is, most of us are going to purchase 70% of the scenery. We'll see the route they go, there is definitely a lot of potential for the game, I haven't completely turned my back on Microsoft.
  8. Yes...but you can't compare Microsoft, a multi billion dollar organization, and third party developers. I think Microsoft is just being greedy at this point.Don't get me wrong, I bet the software developers aren't making enough, but the heads of the Flight crew are probably raking in the money.
  9. No...I have PMDG and REX in mind when I say that.sorry about that. You cannot deny Microsoft went the money route, like I said before, it sucks. IMHO they could have made a much better platform, I mean come on, they're Microsoft. lol
  10. Yes but FSX was limited with its scenery, I'm sure if FSDT could work with Flight's engine, it would be much better than what Microsoft produced (I'm not saying the quality is bad, just not as good as it could be). We'll see where the game goes, it's still very early in it's development, and there is a lot of potential. It's just a little disappointing that I have to wait even longer for an improved sim.
  11. Agreed!I don't like the decision, but I'm sure if I were in their shoes I probably would have done the same. I just think that the game would be that much better if they kept the same platform and improved on it. lol, pretty much free, considering all the hard work they put in. Look at REX Essentials is free for current REX users! that's insane. Orbx did a fantastic job and the scenery they put out is top quality, puts the quality of Microsofts airports and sceneries to shame IMO. PMDG gave us quite literally a Boeing 737NG. The list really goes on. I really don't think there is all that much work (in comparison) that goes into the scenery and aircraft that is in Flight.
  12. Microsoft, just give us a good engine with great flight physics and weather, atc, etc. Let the professionals like PMDG, ORBx, Flytampa, etc. do what they do best. I agree that Flight looks pretty in good, and better than FSX in many ways, and don't get me wrong, I love the performance, buuuutt...if those third party developers were making the DLC then it would be so much better than what Microsoft is doing. Microsoft only cares about the money, but our trusted third party developers actually care about us.I look at the DLC we get for FSX in comparison to default FSX and it's just astonishing. Just look at what REX is doing with Essentials, and what PMDG did with the NGX. If they had an engine that was really easy to work with for our third party developers, than the game would definitely be the best Flight Sim ever made.
  13. Haha, I meant as far as graphics and how smooth the game runs. The game definitely is a downgrade in some areas, but there are improvements to FSX.
  14. I agree, but considering the game is pretty much FSX 2.0 I think I'd rather stick to FSX because of PMDG and Orbx. Sure there will be other 3rd party developers, but honestly, I don't think the quality of product will be good for enough for a lot of us to move to flight. I just don't think that Microsoft cares about the core users as much any more.
