  1. Hello.. I have installed the Marcel Kuhnt Britten Norman Islanders into FS9, installing the Basic Sets (e.g DIAAI32G.zip and the others like it), the Soundset files (BN32Snd3, \2 and\4), and the files in BN32Rest.zip. These are given as downloads in Marcel's site. That site is at www.m-r-software.de Though I have installed all the repaints as per his instructions, only 2 of the 8 planes or so have shown in my fs9 in the sim and could be fllown. I then tried to find the aircraft folders and they are not anywhere in in the fs9\Aircraft folder, neither in the fs9 Main directory. I had never seen such a mystery as this before, in 20 years of simming... I have also installed the .dll file in the Windows\System directory, as he said in his instructions and carried out his instructions as best as I could, though, I must admit, they are not that clear. Now my question is where are the individual aircraft folders in fs9? How can I find them? Do any of you know? By looking at the files I can do a manual installation, I think, after which the folders installed thus will show, I am sure. However, I cannot find the one already installed to delete them so I have no doubles. I looked at the Control Panel of my PC, but no Islanders are listed to uninstall. And let me also add that asking people to put a .dll in the Windows\System folder is going too far in the wrong way of doing installations. Can anyone help me to find where the aircraft folders have been installed? Nick
  2. I would like to know if there are any saved files for the FMC, which I could download and use in my fsx. And if yes, where would I put them... I have tried with the tutorial 1 to set up the FMC data and failed each time somewhere down the process. I was trying for 3 days, 3 hours or more each time and restarting from point 1 many times and I got fed up. Does anyone have saved files they could send me, of any flight anywhere? Thanks.
  3. I concur with the award idea-- a David "Opa" Marshall award would be much appreciated. David helped me personally on many occasions--a great man, and generous in his help. Nick
  4. I have recently have had a peculiar problem in my FSX: the door opens & closes continually as I fly, say ever 5 seconds or so. It happens with the Baropn 59 and the B737 --stock a/c. And it probably happens with all default a/c that have "exits" or doors. I had the samet hing happening with gear retracting and extending continually. On and off I have had either one or the other unwanted animation happening continually (gear or doors animating continually--open/close-retract/extend) all day today. I uninstalled FSX and reinstalled it and even changed keyboard and reset my joystick buttons a couple of times. At certain moments the animation stopped but later it started again. It happens with the default a/c in a clean install and now it happened with a Carenado C340 addon I installed an hour ago (first addon to go into the clean install). Any help will be appreciated. Someone said do not go near a fuel pump. I tried--t has nothing to do with that, the animation continued far from the pump and it happens in flight.
  5. Dan, Great video and wonderful work, Which aircraft addon was that please? Nick Athens, Greece.
  6. Got it fixed, I had not checked the show all variations box.
  7. I cannot change my email address in my profile and I keep getting a wrong password warning. I type in the new address twice (while the old email address is at the top) and then when I type the password I get a message saying it is wrong. I then try anoher password I have and that is shown as wrong also. What can be done?
  8. In my B200 King Air the repaints do not show, and all I get is that indifferent white allovr scheme without any markings. I checked all the ac.cfg entries 5 times and they are ok. Anothe problem is I have that door and stairway at rear port fuselage opening and closing all the time--every few seconds it opens and closes again and that cycle repeats. I have never met anything like this 12 years of simming in 10 sims. In despair, I looked at all the buttons and swtiches in the VC thinking to find one for door and could not find anything. Carenado do not give a diagram for the VC gauges and swtiches in their many pdf's--another drawback here. Any help would be appreciated. I have not yet installed SP2, but in a prevous install of the same addon I did install SP2 and had the same problems as now without it--my 2nd install now. It is a great pity as it has an RAF repaint and some others and I am stuck with an insipid blank white thing and cannot understand why they would include such a useless repaint. .
  9. The recent fs9 Canberra payware models from FLYING STATIONS are in my opinion the best models of that great plane ever made. I have done nothing else but fly those since I got them some days ago. They include some rare marks never seen before, the textures are finely made and the colours to the correct shade, and they feature some wonderful animations—platforms and props appear when you shut engines, you can launch the Rushton targets, many things open up, etc. The sound is also great and it can also be used for other Canberras you may have. Though similar to the Bill Holker ones, they are quite different and of better quality, the skins marked by the expertise of a very good graphics artist. The site is http://www.flyingstations.com/ and Steven Beeny is to be warmly congratulated for his creations—I only have the Trainer and Target Tug pack but I intend to get the other packs soon. A must for any fan of the RAF, and the old lady flies right and looks right. Today I flew the TT.18 from RAF Wyton to RAF Coningsby and I itend to continue with another skin to Lossiemouth--it gave me an extra touch of reality. The site also offers many other fascinating a/c for avid fans of the Fleet Air Arm and the RAF. Screenshots below:
  10. Steve,Many thanks. I have sent you a pm.And let me add here that all your repaints are excellent work and a joy to have. For RAF fans they are a must, for sure, and for Canberra fans, bliss.Regards,Nick
  11. Thanks DickB,By trial(s) and error(s) I fixed it with 2-3 mouse-clicks finally, easier than I thought, but not obvious at all. I opened the Sound icon at the task bar below on the right, right-clicking on it. Then I clicked on the sound icon and I then clicked on Playback devices. A new window opened and in the first tab (Playback) it showed me I had 3 playback devices:1. Speakers2. Headphones3. Digital Audio (HDMI).I then disabled the 1st, Speakers, and kept the other 2 enabled. Started FSX and I had normal sound, from the SPEAKERS. I was happy now, problem solved.I had unplugged my earphones a month ago, when I did some multiplayer flying, and at that time I had disabled the Speakers and enabled the Earphones ( I think), and that action had silenced my speakers like a fish good and proper in fsx--I had not the lightest clue why then...So names are not what they are, neither do words like ENABLED and DISABLED reflect the truth. I man running Windows 7, 32 bit. Curiously, my FS9 has kept all its ATC sounds intact and proper all along through this ordeal.I will make a proper post out of this, to help any guys who face similar problems. Some even went to the extent of doing a reinstall of their sim to fix this. Not needed! So then I went ahead and flew the flight you see in the videos listed below, with full ATC and an IFR plan. Great flight, great videos.Utube videos FOR FSX Mitsubishi MU-2 Marquise (PREMIER AIRCRAFT DESIGN model) FSX US Tour KRNO-KBOI Part 1 of 3-Departure -------------------------- FSX US Tour KRNO-KBOI Part 2 of 3-Arrival AIRCRAFT: Mitsubishi MU-2 Marquise You should see those videos, great work, nice plane and their maker flies like a pro.CheersNick
  12. I have had this weird problem for a month : I can see and read the ATC text but cannot hear the sound. I have tried a few things to fix it but nothing has worked, mainly from the FSX\Options\Settings|sound menu.I also tried my Win& control Panel>Sound tabs. Nothing worked. My FS9 ATC sound is fine, however. I installed EDITVOICEPACK for FSX a week ago but this was well after the no-sound problem had started.Any help will be appreciated.Nick
  13. I have downloaded and installed the Bill Holker Canberra T17 but I am missing one repaint I cannot find--that is the aircraft serialled WJ565. The a/c cfg had it as a [fltsim.2] entry.I have looked in all the major sites and have not located it.Does anyone know where I could find it please?Any help would be appreciated.
  14. I have Win7 32 bit and my fs9 is installed on an external disc connected with a USB and have had no problems at all. It got installed there when my XP crashed and I installed Win7 which asked me if I wanted to keep the old C drive contents. It made a folder called Windows.old and in it I was delighted to find my fs9 intact and working. I then copied it and all the attendant files from the aux folders (My Documents) to the external drive and it works like a charm.
