  1. Is that speculation or fact?On another note, can we fly an ILS in this game?
  2. Did the last beta or pre-beta have ATC? That could be a clue as to the answer for this game.
  3. What is your opinion about his other point: The release of infomation before FSX came out?
  4. ATC is an if:then system. Computers are good at if:then. Maybe we can get the two in a room together for a meeting before Flight comes out? It seems the last meeting was incomplete.
  5. If you didn't know that by now, at least you've learned something. Queue the "you don't know what's going to be in Flight, but it's going to be great, even though we haven't seen it." In 3... 2... 1...
  6. Go back and look at the boards and info released by MS before the last versions. Now I implore the extreme on both sides -- ######, fulminant skeptics -- to apply your same logic to the pre-release periods back then. Come back and discuss Microsoft's release of information as 'fact' vs. a framework for a new sim. My gripes have been lack of true overcast, and unrealistic representation of phraseology of the ATC system in the US (I know it should be American Two-Six-Five, but in my 16 years of flying in real life, I more often hear American Two-Sixty-Five). If you go back to the DEMO released for FSX, listen to the ATC. At the point this came out, we did not know that this was an adventure, and it was easy to think that this was the 'new ATC' that was advertised. Before this came the 'magic screenshots.' It is easy to be mistrustful.Perspective here: Some will always think that Microsoft can do no wrong with the series, others will always think that there's more that can be squeezed into the sim when it comes from Microsoft. If there was no group on one side, you wouldn't have the other.I guess my point is, you may wish to keep trying to ignore the speculation or shut it down (on one hand), or keep berating the seeming lack of flexibility (on the other hand), but we're all in this together. The focus should be on getting the best sim out of the box. I guess we're about to find out what's true and what isn't. I hope the moon is included. I hope jets are included. If they aren't, the question is, who's fault is it? Microsoft? The skeptics that didn't push hard enough? The fans that we're just ok with what they were told and didn't dig deeper?
  7. That's speculation... But it is educated speculation. If Microsoft learned anything from the last versions 'artist conception,' it's that the hardcore simmers notice everything and will hold it to form at release time.
  8. WAIT, doesn't that count as speculation?Someone should compile a list of hypothetical questions to ask the testers, just in case a new member or two do make their way here.
  9. He started his post with 'IMO' which means "in my opinion." Last I checked, opinions were allowed, the ###### might not like that, but such is life. Also, is there a screenshot of the moon yet? If not, there is no factual moon, which means we can only speculate that it is included. I will go ahead and do that right now: The moon will be included in FlightI also will speculate that we will not see a true overcast with the 'breaking out' experience that I get in real life when I fly IFR.I will be willing to bet that I will get chastised more for the last speculation than the first, but I hold out hope that all the suppression of speculation does actually cut both ways.
  10. To the true overcast post: The only difference is that you don't "break out" in fog. The visibility stays low. With an "overcast" layer you wouldn't see anything below until you broke through the cloud layer.
  11. The point of the analogy is that some here have open eyes, and have made -- what I believe -- are educated conclusions regarding this game (until I see evidence otherwise, this is a game). The same way, there are others who insist that it will "get better" in terms of info released about the game itself (showing scenery that isn't Hawaii, ATC, weather, etc...). That's fine, but most, in looking at Microsoft's recent past with Flight Simulator, are not waiting for Godot on this one.
  12. Let's put it this way:If you see a man with a bone jutting out of the side of his arm, do you think, "Hey that guy has a broken arm," or do you think, "Let's wait until we can hear from a doctor that he has a broken arm?"Pretty easy answer for me.
