Show FPS
Hi, I would like to see the current frame rates so I can check if I've improved my setup. Normally I would just press ctrl+z but that seems to have been set to something else. How do I create a new hot key for FPS? I can see there is a standard.xml file in fsx\Controls and it contains sections for each key assignment, but I do not know the tag to use for FPS. eg:- tag for key CTRL+Z is AP_ALT_HOLD

Cockpit noise, wind?
Thanks for that. My cockpit noise is louder than that. You can clearly hear other cockpit talk and commands that is not the case in my default settings. I do not want to turn anything off so I am going to investigate reducing the sound of aircon or whatever it is by 50% to 25%.

Cockpit noise, wind?
Yes, the default cabin sound (aircon?) is too loud compared to . I see someone commented on this in 2004 http://forum.avsim.net/topic/41599-just-got-pmdg-737-but-major-cockpit-noise/. I'm going to study the suggestions made here.

Taking the plunge for a new PC
I look forward to hearing how fast the HD0: Crucial M4 256GB SSD with FSX on it! As for GPU I've always bought Radeon Sapphires but this time I went for the Gigabyte 7970 Radeon Windforce that will run three screens (old 1280*1024 * 3 From past experience those cards that exhaust all there gas through the end plate are very noisy.

FSX Configurator
Hi all, I am trying to use the FSX configurator http://www.venetubo....cgi-bin/fsx.cgi recommended by PMDG but it keeps saying... Your request could NOT be processed. Reason: The [GRAPHICS] section should be unique, there are two or more sections with this name. But when I open the file with notepad++ it shows only one section with the name [GRAPHICS]

upgrade
Not much, is my initial reaction. I'm assuming you are on Win7 with 64bit with your old system.

How to desensitise a joystick so that the Autopilot does not disengage
Hi, When I move around the VC in the 737 using the hat control I inadvertently move the joystick and that disengages the Autopilot (the number pad works but that is not as smooth) I have tried the counter intuitive method of setting the null region to zero and the sensitivity to max however, that seems not to work. Any ideas?

You could try VATSIM then you would be part of a world community of on-line pilots :)
