March 7, 201214 yr Can we do something about the windy cockpit noise in the 737NGX?????Thanks on advanceGeert
March 7, 201214 yr Close the windows? Seriously, though..If you look at the FSX sound settings, you will have one for environment and one for cockpit..Play with those, and also go into the PMDG settings in the FMC, look at options then sound (I think; I'm at work - somebody else wqill have the QRH to hand, no doubt)bestjake JAKE EYREIt's a small step from the sublime to the ridiculous...Napoleon Bonaparte
March 7, 201214 yr I have yet to get this sorted out totally. My issue is not being to hear the ATIS over the noise, trying to set the arrival pressure is tricky I sometimes have to let it play three or four times before I can pick it out. Phill Dant
March 7, 201214 yr You could try using a headset! It works in real life too!vololiberista Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA
March 7, 201214 yr You can send the voice to your analogue output and use headphones (as vololiberista suggests above), and if you have optical/SPDIF input on whatever your PC is plugged into you can have the rest on optical. I run this waybestjakeTo clarify: you have seperate outputs for voice and sounds in the FSX sounds dialog JAKE EYREIt's a small step from the sublime to the ridiculous...Napoleon Bonaparte

March 7, 201214 yr Well like they said above its extremely loud and hard to hear voice over them. I dont want to get rid of them but just lower them a bit.
March 7, 201214 yr As said before, play with your sounds. You will find the correct settings for you sometimes for sure. But it would be best to set everything to 50%, then it's as realistic as possible.Oh and before I forget it: You HAVE TO sign your posts with your FULL REAL NAME, according to the PMDG FORUM RULES Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!
March 7, 201214 yr Ill mess around with them, or throw the voice to my headset as stated above. thanks~!
March 7, 201214 yr There is free software out there to edit sound files and reduce volume, but not required in the NGX as sound volumes can be set in the FMC.Unfortunately we don't have the FMC sound volume option in the JS4100, would be helpful for the horrendous row...
March 7, 201214 yr Commercial Member The issue isn't with the sounds, it's that you're trying to force all of the sounds through one device. If you tried to do that in the real world, it wouldn't work so well either: flip the output to the aircraft's flight deck speaker and try it sometime with the engines on at cruise - good luck! I can post a video of what that would sound like, if you want me to.This is why flight crews wear headsets. As mentioned several times before, use different devices for the ambients versus the ATC. Better yet, don't use FSX's ATC and use a headset with VATSIM/IVAO. With that you're nearly forced to set it up on multiple devices anyway. Problem solved. Kyle Rodgers
March 7, 201214 yr I just slid the Environment Sounds slider back to 40% in FSX.Worked a treat.Martin. Martin Stacey.
June 21, 201213 yr Yes, the default cabin sound (aircon?) is too loud compared to . I see someone commented on this in 2004 http://forum.avsim.net/topic/41599-just-got-pmdg-737-but-major-cockpit-noise/. I'm going to study the suggestions made here.
