  1. I fly using P3Dv4.5 and had issues with the 'very different' Premier jet startup. Every month since buying this plane, I tried the startup and it just did not work like any other Carenado plane. I was very happy when this past week I found the answer in a youtube presentation. It was all about the startup. LOL Issue is; you MUST use the Shift 8 key to bring up the menu for "how you will do startup". EVERY TIME you must select COLD and DARK module. This sets all the switches to the proper positions. Seems strange, but I tried everything to start this plane by the Normal Procedure manual. And, this is the same procedure you must use after you do a shut down procedure. No escaping. I guess you could shut down just the the left engine so you could exit the plane, but do not know if that is proper with this AC. BTW, this is a fantastic little screamer for those flights up to or shorter of 1200 to 1500 nm hops. Ceiling of 41k lets you pop over those big thunderheads. Love this plane since understanding the COLD and DARK requirement.
  2. Really, no harm done. Been married 40 years and still getting use to feedback. LOL Like most of you I have doing this a couple of years.... well since 95. BTW, I own at least one airplane from each of these vendors and host my own forum boards for my VA. Apples and Oranges cannot be compared. My current "go to" light AC is A2A 182, my Med AC is the Areosoft Twotter, and my heavy is the PMDG 747 or Level D 767. I have recorded 130+ hours in the A2A 182 since buying it. My flight time hours for FSX far exceeds 4k.. My RW time in business jets are restricted to the US ARMY where I have only done 3rd seat monitoring. My flight experience began with my WWII flying father in 1956 when he allowed me to land and takeoff in the family J3 at eight. I am sure he assisted that landing. LOL So why did I buy the Citation II by Carenado? One, I believe they have the right talent to provide a beautiful, functional AC at the level of to demand the asking price. I also missed my Eaglesoft business jets really bad. BTW, I only own RX Reality gauges when I fill like it and always have PlanG running on a third monitor. With only ground time, manual reading, and one test flight from Orbx's KBZN to FL20, return to the pattern and land, that is it so far. This was all on the stick. I have no other 3rd party software enhancing or distracting from the performance and operation of this AC. I can say it flew via pedals, yoke, trim wheel and quadrant just beautifully. I was concerned about the 4096 graphics on my 3d generation i5 turbo 3.8 chip using two monitors. It flew flawless and no impact on FPS. For this type of instrumentation, do I need 3d party? I really do not think so. The Citation II has been and will be a pilot's "flying" jet. You never have to worry about auto breaking or takeoff settings. Some flaps, some speed breaks, some knowledge of angle of attack is about all. That one flight was great and looking forward to seeing how she does in a full weathered in approach to a busy airport. That is about 20 hours down the road. As for needing 3d party gauges, sounds, flight aids it is my opinion it would not be a requirement for having fun in the Citation II.
  3. Truthfully, I am not surprised they saved money and did not point to Flight One for a better GPS. Just how many sales would be made?
  4. I must say, I know your issues with Carenado. I haven't found too much that I would say, run out and buy this one. So far.... LOL I have flown it across the sourthern USA in six or seven hops. Without spoilers (don't know why they did not model them), all I had to do is read one manual and fly it. Been greasing the landings since the third one. Flying day and night. Great night cockpit and handles weather well. Love the simplicity of a private jet with good electronics. I fly with two monitors slaved for 3840x1080. It is beautiful at 90% zoom and easy to read. I found the Mustang impossible to fly with this resolution. Between the two, I choose the Phenom. The Mustang is removed. There is always little bugs that the beta guys never see. But, there is some power delays with the AP speed hold/adjustments which bothers me. It may be realworld, but I question it. It does seem to sway +- 10 IAS on making adjustments. Once in hold positions, the shifting of winds doesn't have that kind of affect. This is all I have found. My background is lots of time in A2A and PMDG AC from FS9 to FSX. Of the Carenado livery, I find myself liking the older AC more. Except for the 208B and 182T, I haven't found any of their highend newer AC worthy to recommend. I fly them a couple of times and uninstall them . arrrrrrgh Would love to see a good KING AIR, but.... I will take a small jet. I do like the PHENOM. Could it be better, of course, it is a simulation at $40. Would I buy it again, YES! Now I am excited to know that the development of the Hawker is ongoing.
  5. Phenom 100 has spoilers now, but it seems that Carenado did not model them. arrrrrrrrrrrgh
  6. I almost listened to the crowd. My experience background is light aircraft (RW and Flightsimming), so I do not speak in authority here, but ..... Been a MSFS user since 1995 and have owned three VA's with the current one being www.eaglevalleyair.com. I own most of the HD aircraft owned by Carenado and from the startup @ FTX Bonner's Ferry to Landing at FTX Bozeman, this is one nice little jet. Still working on that GPS input though. LOL Must read the manual. I must say, I started and stopped this plane with A2A Accufeel engaged. So, even the normal responses were affected, but I found the plane as good as my RealAir Turbine Duke, A2A 172R with its flight dynamics and gauges that they offer. Is not every sound recorded..... LOL why? What sounds there were was just fine... even the engines. On my flight, it climbed exactly as a B200. She recorded 160 kts @ 1500 fpm to 10'k, then I dropped the fpm to 1000 and climbed to 18000 @ 154 kts IAS. Power settings stayed at cruise settings of 82%. Not bad... even fantastic. She picked up speed to a cruise of 230 IAS and a GS of 300 kts plus depending on the winds. Taxi was done at 48% power with very nice nose wheel steering. I own the B200, 208b, c90, 182T, tbm850 by Carenado and this little AC showed absolutely no impact on my FPS which is set 30. I have a one year old computer which I built around a Intel i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) - Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H WP - 16 GB - 2X EVGA GTX660TI SC - Win 7 64 BTW, I own and fly 3 PMDG aircraft and 3 A2A aircraft. I am a proud owner of a Phenom. Thank you Carenado.... Cannot wait for your Hawker 850
  7. Is there a reason Carenado has to always go to a 30 year old aircraft to replicate? Why not a 115?
  8. The last few releases (since 208B), I have had to put the aircraft on the shelf until a patch was released. So I ask in earnest, is this plane ready to be downloaded?
  9. Hi All,Looking for configurations to use my Reality XP gauges in all of the FSX aircraft. I own them all and would like to put the right gauges in the panel. Any configurations would be fantastic.thanks,
  10. Still one of my favorite aircraft to fly in our virtual bush charter service. Add Orbix PNW and it is some real flying.
