  1. I have applied Nick_N's tips and recommendations to my P3D installation more or loss completely. The result was a substantial increase in fps (5 - 7 on average), thereas graphic quality and fps stability was equal or even better than my previous setup. I am going on to test, but so far I am very pleased. Arndt
  2. I ordered a yoke and rudder pedals over the past two years. I had the same problems with delivery times. Customs is a common excuse. But finally I got my items. Regards Arndt
  3. Hello, I have installed P3D 2.5 (2.5.12943.0). Now I realized, that the controls sensitivity slider is not working or has a minimal effect: Even if you reduce for example airleron sensitivity on the slider to 1, sensitivity is very high. The same is true, if you adjust sensitivity by FSUIPC. Has someone experienced the same problem? Does anyone know a workaround? Kind regards Arndt
  4. Please see what I got from the P3D flight planner. Different from yours.
  5. Here is the screenshot ... So far the cruising altitude is stable and didn't change, even after closing and restarting P3D for sebveral times.
  6. Hello Vaughan, I am not using old plans, but only new one's. They are in the same format as yours. But: nearly all flight plan files do contain as cruising altitude not values like 5000 ft, 5500 ft or 6000 ft (this is my usual cruising altitude), but values like 55 ft, 524 ft and so on. I changed the cruising altitude values in all my flight plan files outside P3D back to my usual cruising altitude and then saved the file. Afterwards I reopened these files within P3D and cruising altitude again has changed to these strange values like 55, 524 and so on. I don't have any idea regarding the source of the problem. Regards Arndt
  7. Hello, I realized a problem with the default flight planner of P3D version 2.4: If I input a specific cruising altitude of for example 6000 ft and save the flight, then this cruise altitude value is getting lost. If I retrieve the flight, then I don’t find the saved cruising altitude, but a fantasy value. This fantasy value never is four digits or above, but two or three digits only. Is this a bug of Prepar3D 2.4, or is this a problem with my installation? Can I take any action? Kind regards Arndt
  8. Hello, since two weeks or so I have problems with the ATC the selected attitude of the flight plan is constantly ignored by ATC, and the given attitude is nonsense; for example: the flight plan contains 6000 ft attitude, ATC is giving me 100 ft sometimes messages are shown in the ATC window, but not read by the controller or messages are read only partially. I already have replaced the ATC sound file (Prepar3D v2/sound/atc) by my backup of the original files. But the problem still persists. Has anyone an idea how to solve this problem? Kind regards Arndt
  9. I was the owner of a Goflight yoke, but I sold it after some time: the mouse button does not work, the collocation and function of the other buttons is far from optimal, and - most important - the yoke itself isn't really satisfying. Especially the way of travel of the pitch axis is too short and not precise. Yes, the Goflight yoke is an improvement against the CH yoke. But from my point of view it isn't value for money, even not at a 30 % discount. I now have a PFC Beech yoke, and this yoke I really can recommend. Especially the handling of the yoke is great, for me much much better than the CH and Saitek stuff and much better than the Goflight stuff, too. From my point of view, the investment in a PFC yoke was worth the money.
  10. I was not right. If you wait for 15 to 20 minutes, there is really some AI traffic. But although putting the slider close to 100 %, AI traffic ist minimal even at huge airports like Munich and Dusseldorf.
  11. I followed step 1 to 8 of the procedure, which has been recommended by Chis. But unfortunately I don't see any AI traffic. Which xml file is referred to in step 9? Which entry should be added into this xml file? Regards Arndt P.S.: I have P3D 2.4 installed.
  12. OK, thanks a lot for your speedy answer. Regards Arndt
  13. Hello, right now, I am cruising from EGSS to EPPG, close to Birmingham. There is snow all around on the ground. How can this be? Using Prepar3d; Opus 3.4000 with current weather Regards Arndt
  14. I am an owner of the GF yoke since about three weeks. And: Overall I am satisfied with it. On the downside, for me there are following issues: 1. It is a great idea to have a mouse button on the yoke. I managed to adjust the speed of the mouse pointer, when using this mouse button. and to set it lower than the speed of my real mouse. Nevertheless, for me the use of the mouse button is impractical, because it takes too much time to position the mouse pointer correctly over your target and then press. So unfortunately there is wasted space and functionality on the right side of the yoke right now. Maybe a small ball instead of a knob would be a much better solution to move the mouse pointer? 2. There are two trigger switches at the rear of the yoke (one on each side) but they are wired together, So, although there are two buttons, they can only be assigned to one function! This again is wasted functionality. 3. I too would have prefered more pitch movement from the yoke. 4. The two screw clamps for securing the yoke to a table are difficult to use. You cannot obtain enough power on the little wheels in order to really fix the yoke. This is a problem, because the pitch movement requires some force, and therefore tends to slip on the table. So you have to add own creativity to really fix the yoke. Here I am very much in line with the comment of Geoff. I myself don't have problems with the hat switch, which works great for me. I also don't have problems with the arrangement of the knobs and buttons, which is practical and therfore absolutely fine. Why am I satisfied with the yoke overall? Because the feeling in your hands is great, when using the yoke. It is really heavy duty, not to compare with the plastic yokes of other manufacturers. The control of elevator and aileron is very precise. This is absolutely decisive for me. Therefore I bought the yoke. And therefore I don't regret. But of course GoFlight should consider the detail criticism in a future revision respective release. Then it really would be an outstanding product. Arndt
  15. Hi, I also have a Saitek TPM in use, but my item doesn't show these effects. You may have a faulty item and should exchange it for another one. I am very satisfied with my Saitek TPM. Kind regards Arndt
  16. Now I found the reason for my problems. My scenery.cfg was messed up: double entries of areas, area different from layer, .... Surprisingly, in the library these problems haven't been visable. The reason for the corruption of the scenery.cfg might be, that some days before I massively reordered my sceneries (about 300 in total). I am still looking for a good tool to manage my sceneries. FSScenery worked great under FSX, but in P3D it is not functioning. Regards Arndt
  17. I have installed the Aerosoft sceneries for FSX, Gibraltar and Faro, in Prepar3D . Although installation went without any problems, both sceneries don't show up. Then I tried to solve the problem with disabling the respective BR2-bgl's in My Traffic for Prepar3D, but without success. Additionally I tried to solve the problem with different levels of autogen, again without success. Does anyone know about other solutions or an incompability between Gibraltar and Faro on the one hand and MyTraffic on the other hand? Any help is really appreciated! Kind regards Arndt
  18. Problem solved. One of my hotkeys was allocated to Y = SLEW. Therefore I entered into Slew mode, when I pressed Y. I changed the hotkey, and everything is fine now. Regards Arndt
  19. Hello, in the past, I only used the weather function of Opus. It is working great. Recently, I also tried the camera function. So I defined some camera views, defined corresponding keyboard keys, ... This is working fine. But after using three to four camera views, a crazy problem is coming up: the world outside the plane is starting to turn and to move extremely fast, and I can stop this only by pressing ESC. After that, the plane is at a totally different place than before (it is similar to be in the slew mode). Does anyone know a solution for this problem? I use Windows 8 + Prepar3D 1.4, and I am flying always with the RealAir Duke B60 Regards Arndt
  20. Hi Paul, here is the link: http://www.fsflyingschool.com/buyit-p3d.asp Kind regards Arndt
  21. Hello, after installation with the migration tool, FlyingSchool is working under P3D. Additionally, there is available a FlyingSchool version especially for P3D! Kind regards Arndt
  22. OK, after some testing I have to correct myself partly. If virtual FSX is enabled, the scenery library path is pointing to FSX. If virtual FSX is disabled, the scenery library path is pointing to P3D. But there seems to be no difference in function and no failure. Regarding the window to select gates or parking: The window "Select parking and taxiways" in the command line is working properly. You can use it to specify the gate or parking in the departure airport. Great! But the window "Waypoint / Rwy / Gate" in the flight planner facility is not working, al least in my configuration. With FSX, I was always using this window to specify gate and parking. Kind regards Arndt I now found out, that I also can save flights in P3D format. It seems to be, that you have to disable virtual FSX at least one time in order to enable the P3D format. So: all problems solved!
  23. Hello, I installed Prepar3D and FSCommander 9.2. FSC 9.2 is announced as compatible with Prepar3D. Nethertheless I have several problems. In the Database Manager, after selecting Prepar3D the flight simulator path, I have no choice regarding the scenery library path. And I am not sure, that during the update it is getting all information about installed airport. The update is very rapid, compared with the previous situation with FSX. Wheen I am making a flight plan, it isn't possible to specify the gate or parking position. Even if Prepar3D is running, FSC seems to have no information about installed airports. And if I save a flight plan, I can do it only in FSX format, but not in P3D format. Has anyone else already experience with FSC under P3D, and is able to help? Kind regards Arndt
