  1. I am wondering if anybode knows if (and how) X-Plane simulates ground effect with helicopters when they hover near the ground (distance to the ground approx. smaller then the rotor diameter)?
  2. I am wondering if anybode knows if there are significant differences between X-Plane and FSX when it comes to simulating a helicopter hover in ground effect. I'm looking for some objective answers and by no means want to start a general discussion about what sofware package is the 'better one'..
  3. Hi Pongo, Thanks a lot! Both are new to me and they look promising too! Peter
  4. Hello rotorheads, I'm lookimg for a good quality collective and cyclic for less the 500$ each. Any suggestions? Without them, helicopter simulation is much less immersive to my opinion. Peter
  5. Yes! It would make Flight much more appealing to us helicopter enthousiasts.
  6. When using 3 screens and display a seperate FSX view at each one, the frame rate drop will be huge. With TH2go you just display one image across three screens. So you only get a bigger image size, the view angle isn't extended however. Frame rate isn't effected in this situation. When using eyefinity, the same reasoning can be applied. If you display several different views (for example one forward and two sidewards) the frame rate drop will be huge again.
  7. Word Not Allowed,Thanks for your remark.I always wondered why my gtx570 never exceeded 40%. Can get it now up to 50-60% with max autogen and high quality scenery and bad weather. But still no higher. I will investigate the nvidea control panel options.
  8. Hi,I have two computers. One i7 960 and one i7-2600k both running FSX in a network. The last one is on avarage 30% faster in frame rate. I also upgraded from a gtx8800GT to a gtx570 card. With this one, the gpu load never exceeds 40%. I also have used a gtx560Ti in the same configuration. Same story, gpu load also never exceeded 50%.
  9. Hi there,This is my experience with 2 weeks playing around with P3D 1.2:1. CFG file tweeking with the famous tool is still valid as the most options are true for both FSX and P3D2. I cannot see any relevant differences in fps. I used the same model (R22), same default scenery and made every entry in fsx/p3d.cfg identical where appropiate. Tested with several sceneries.3. Scenery is absolute more stable. No blurries anymore. This is a big improvement!! No blurries is possible by tweaking FSX (vSync tweak) but will cost you a lot on fps. Not so with P3D (and this tweak also is not nessesary anymore).4. I installed the DodoSim Bell 206 add-on. Works great.5. I installed the NL2000 detailed scenery for The Netherlands (that is where I live). Works fine too.6. I miss the option to choose to start with the default flight or not (and let me choose what i want first)Hope that this is of any help in the decision proces.Peter
  10. I think we can be thankfull that there is an alternative to MS-Flight (Prepar3D). And at the very least, LM is committed to the program and at this moment is delivering software that we can use. In my opinion there is no company that can garantee their support of a product for ever. Which doesn't mean that sometimes they do support a product for a very long time..Peter
