  1. Forms filled in, Ready to be posted first thing tomorrow morning!!!
  2. Just to let everyone know, Just gotten back from school and I've gotten an e-mail from the chief pilot, [Who's a woman??? Not being sexist or anything like that but I was really surprised], saying that's it'd be fine for me to jump seat once I filled out all the attached forms. There's a load of forms, I was expecting just one or two, like the Garda vetting form and a sheet to declare that I'll follow any instructions or rules given to me by the crew, but there's ones here on medical health, insurance, a declaration voiding EIN of responsibility for my actions, a sheet about EIN being able to use my photo in publications, a form saying that I will only talk about the crew in a respectful and appropriate manner, Asks for a photo-copy of my birth-cert, the list goes on. I really never knew the amount of paperwork that went with getting in the jumpseat, but I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end. I'll be sure to write an account of the trip and post it here for all of you's to read.Anyone Jealous Yet?
  3. I don't mean to bother you, but I've heard that if you get permission from the Chief Pilot and fill out the Garda vetting form that you can stay in the cockpit for the whole flight. Is this true? Would it be okay with you if I tried this?
  4. OMFG YES!!!! I'm flying out on the 27th!!! I've never been in a cockpit before, thanks a million. Shame about the photo thing but I'm not really that bothered. I'll see you then. You've just made my day.
  5. Oh right, probably should have guessed that considering the giant St Rónán plastered on the side, nice tip about finding one of your takeoffs on you-tube, I'll have to look up some Aerlingus A330 takeoffs now and try and spot you.BTW, I'll be flying to Orlando next month at the end of October, you don't know if you'll be flying that route then do you? If you are, could I come up front before we leave and take a few photos?
  6. Lol, didn't notice it was yourself flying that, nice takeoff!
  7. Nah, I'd much rather have a nice A330 , or a wood pidgeon!
  8. Thanks a million Simon, really appreciate it.
  9. Thanks, that explains it all, you sound like my physics teacher with your "SI Units" lol. Any way, I was always curious about pounds of thrust so thanks for that.
  10. Thanks a million Simon, It's posts like yours that make this community what it is, keep up the great work and hopefully we'll get the end of the story soon.
  11. they could get Ronan to steal one of EIN's fleet for them so they......
  12. Thanks a Million, Your also my new hero, sorry Rónán, you've been replaced as my hero for a while, your still up there though.
  13. +1. Look here, there's even one named after you
  14. Oh sorry, didn't mean to bother you, forget I asked; Sounds like you made the right decision based on what I've just read.
  15. You know that's just teasing us sim pilots, telling us of all the great stuff pilots can do, BTW Omar who do you fly for and waht do you fly, if you don't mind me asking? What exactly was this mighty package they were offering, it sounds, well, mighty?
  16. Thanks, your my new Idol, 30 years time and I hope to be in the pointy end of a transatlantic jet. Out of interest though, what do you do on the layovers with all your spare time?
  17. Out of curiosity Rónán, what's a typical roster on long haul for the A330 pilots in Aer Lingus like? Could you maybe give us a run through of it?
  18. I'd say anything between 25-30 would be adaquate.
  19. Oops, sorry bout that mistake there Ferd, didn't mean to offend you, you just sounded a bit less professional about the whole pilot thing. I saw that nationwide program too and meant to give yee a call about it but I totally forgot until Rónán mentioned it just there. Maybe I'll pay yee a visit some day and check out that sim, it looked really cool but I have a voucher for the A320 sim based in Simtech so I'll have to use that first... It's really great to see so many RW pilots online here, keep up the good work.
  20. Ouch, yeh I know Rónán is and David too, Rónán's been a really great help over the past few months but there are other RW pilots here, What about Jack C, RSR, Jane Rachel ect? But I do agree, Fred comes across a bit unprofessional compared to Rónán and Jack but I'm not to judge, for all we know he could be the real deal and Ronan and Jack are just two kids pretending to be the real fellas, lol JK.
