I came across these myself a week or two ago and even after years of flying the desktop and studying real world procedures to learn as much as I can, I still find myself learning more from these videos. He's definitely knowledgeable and he's got a great "instructors" voice. Definitely some videos to watch.

After making my post about two hours ago, I retried my registration using the "no spaces" idea. Ten minutes later I received my success email.

Hello Ray and JD. I recently had to disconnect all of my hardware and shutdown FSX for a period of time to return to school out of state. Upon return five months later, I needed to reinstall RCv4 and need a new key. It has been about a day and a half and still no response. I sent an email to the help desk with a screen shot of the registration GUI this morning and figured popping up here wouldn't hurt either. Any help you can give Ray would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ray have you heard anything from JD? I've received nothing but automated messages from his personal email. Does he even read his emails? I'm sure you can agree that this is now bordering on the ridiculous. I find it hard to believe that there isn't anyone who can resolve my install problem except for one person who may or may not even know or care that people are trying to contact him. Unbelievable.

The Feb 8th install was successful Ray but that was prior to having the new rig built. I have provided all the requested info more than once and have even forwarded a copy of the key request email to JD to prove to him that my request was indeed formatted correctly. I will even forward the original purchase email if he would like. It's not a matter of persistence, if I had given erroneous info or the wrong format I would understand. But my info is correct as well as the format so the issue is not on my end. I also receive my emails on both a smart phone and a kindle fire as well as the PC so anti virus, spam filters, etc. do not affect the receipt of my emails but I have been checking both important and spam folders anyway. Your system is not functioning correctly, period. I just got another email saying there were alpha characters before the first ! in my request. WHAT?!? See, this is what I'm talking about. I typed a simple request...first I'm told there were no exclamation points when there were...now I'm given some line about alpha characters. All I want is a key for the product I paid for. How many times must I resend and request this? What other way is there to type this and send it? Ok Ray. I am sending a screenshot of my Reg. window to John. I am also going to PM a copy to you as well.

I have checked all folders. JD responded telling me I didn't have exclamation points between my product id and my first and last name...when I definitely did. I have to go through this two day jumping through hoops every time I need a new key Ray and frankly, I'm over it. I'm not gonna take a screenshot, I'm not sending anymore requests and if that means no more RCv4...so be it. Reinstalling a product which someone has legitimately paid for and supported for years should not be this difficult and time consuming. Have a great day.

Ray, just for giggles I attempted a key request from my old email with yahoo and got an immediate response of, "I cannot find your email address in my records......". This tells me that my email address has indeed been changed to my Gmail address which is good, I hate yahoo. But I've yet to receive a response from the key request I sent last night. I've sent two, one as ###### ! First ! Last and one as ###### ! Last ! First. Nothing from either one.

Ray I sent the request over 12 hours ago. I repeatedly requested an email change before and I'm assuming it was changed to my gmail address which is the one I used to request the new key. Thanks for checking into it for me.

Hello again Ray. I seem to be back to the same issue. I just had a beast of a computer built with new MOBO, processor, etc. Soooo I now need a new key. I have once again sent the request emails and, once again, have not received a response. There is obviously something wrong with the key system. Could you please do something to help me with receiving a key? Thank you.

Hey Ray. JD actually sent me an email right after I replied to you on my gmail account. Ironically, at the exact same moment I received 'success' responses from the 3 key requests I had sent from my yahoo account three days ago. Like I said, for some reason either yahoo or the radar contact system does not like requests going through yahoo mail. I hope the fact that he personally responded to me through my gmail account means that gmail is now in the system as my email and not yahoo. Thank you very much for your help. RCv4 is still the premier ATC out there and I just cannot see using anything else. Thanks to you, JD and all the others who created this system.

Thanks Ray. I didn't change any hardware but the reinstall of RCv4 gave me a different product id number and wouldn't accept my key. Like I said, I had to completely erase and reformat my HDD. But thanks for the quick response. The biggest thing is getting the email changed to my gmail address. I always get a quick auto response with gmail. With yahoo I have to go through all this run around. Thanks for your help.

Ray I too have sent both key requests and an email address change request. I have sent these from both of my email addresses and have also sent the email change request through the help email line. The only response I get is through my old email telling me the system doesn't recognize my email address. This comes within 10 minutes. The key request on my yahoo email yields nothing and its been 2 days. And I have checked my spam folder numerous times. So here is the situation. My system crashed and had to do a factory reset. This led to needing a new key. I will also have to request a new key in about two weeks because I'm having a complete new build done on my system. (MOBO, Processor, ram, GPU, etc.) But until then I would like to fly with RCv4. Could someone please check the help emails and help me resolve this issue? I'm not going to give out my email info on the forum but if someone could PM me I'll be glad to help. I will give my name which is in your system. Eric Grindstaff Thanks Ray.

Just found this topic and have a problem with this particular .exe. Three times now during a flight with either rain or snow precip I get a small popup window saying: as_audio error. And when I close the error window I lose all sound of the precip on the windows and in external view. I have all audio options unchecked, using realism mode and I use REX essentials for my textures and sound set. Could someone help with this? Kind of destroys the realism when you lose sound like that. Thanks for any help.

Thank you for the reply Gerald. I kind of suspected the culprit was ASN and I did see those posts. I did an extensive search prior to posting. I have listed this issue with Pete Dowson, ASN/HIFI and Radar Contact. I'm hoping that somewhere between the three a resolution can be found. Thanks again and Happy New Year.

Ok. Somewhere between the new MCE version and the new FSUIPC (which is required for the new Active Sky Next) there is now an issue with MCE and Radar Contact. Until I installed the latest versions I've never, and I mean ever, had a delay issue with RCv4. Now, its become so bad that RCv4 is unusable. I would really appreciate it if someone could look into this for me. I really want to use all the features of RCv4 and MCE along with FSX but at this point that's just not possible. One thing to note: I reinstalled an older version of FSUIPC and the voice recognition between MCE and RCv4 became much better but the delay was still extreme. I have tried complete uninstalls of both products (including fs.insider.dll, mce.ini file, etc.) and a brand new reinstall with NO success. Massive delay time. Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks everyone for the info on shutting off the wind depiction flags. Two other questions, just to confirm something please....loaded a flight plan in ASN, started FSX and performed normal set up. Now, once I start the flight is ASN performing correctly even though the current activity states idle? Also, is it working correctly even though the FSX startup screen is stating clear weather in the weather window? I'm assuming that ASN overwrites whatever weather is listed in the FSX startup window? Thanks for any help, just wanted to clarify that all is as it should be.

Awesome. Damien, I've been a user for years, have been through Rex also. THIS is the most incredible sim depiction I've ever imagined. To all of you...amazing work and thank you for adding a jaw-dropping level of immersion and realism to our hobby. Simply fantastic. I've enlisted quite a few of my fellow pilots at the VA I fly with to try the trial and based on numerous posts there are probably going to be a lot of former opus and Rex 'lifers" making a switch. Can some tell me how to 'turn off' the wind indicator flags in map mode? It seems that once you activate them there is no way to deactivate them. Tried exiting out of the sim and AS, reloaded, restarted and still have the flags. I know, not a big deal, just a little annoying if you don't want them visible any longer and no way to deactivate. Thanks.

I'm using EZCA with ASN and have NO issues.

Just chiming in...I use RCv4 and MCE (for voice interaction with ATC) along with all of FS2's copilots and have no issues. Its a little tricky setting up the push to talk/soft mute but once configured they all work beautifully together. Easy E
