Its been a long time since Hellenic Airways has published an update and many things have since changed. Our whole website has been amazingly upgraded and countless features have been added to make this great hobby even more enjoyable for hellenic airways pilots. I want to take this opportunity to introduce some of our new features to this community and i hope to welcome some of you guys soon as new crew members. First of all we have discontinued all Wet Lease operations and moved some of our aircraft back to greece where they have been integrated in the regular Hellenic Airways operations. After 2 years of wet lease flights in Asia, North America and Oceania we felt it's now time to concentrate on our main operations in europe. The additional aircrafts and a completely reworked scheduling system allowed us to expand our operations from/to greek airports on a large scale. Not only have we opened many new aircraft bases on the greek islands but also the schedules from/to our main hubs offer an increased route variety of regional, international and intercontinental destinations. Our Boeing 767's have been converted to Cargo planes and operate now alongside our MD11F aircrafts on our freight schedules at Hellenic Cargo. As replacement the B777 has joined our Passenger Fleet. Some (but by far not all) New Features: - Pilot of the Month Award (Points System) For every flight our pilots earn Pilot Points. The System is aimed to have a fair pilot of the month competition. This means that no matter if you prefer flying the heavies on 10h+ flights or just like the quick Hops from Island to Island in one of our turboprops you will have the chance to Win this Award. The winner is announced ON our website and receives a discount code for one of the major FS Addon Stores. - IKAROS Frequent Flyer Program The IKAROS frequent Flyer program isnt really a competition. Instead it gives you the opportunity to spend your earned Premium Miles and lift some restrictions of our booking system, buy additional charter flights, transfer aircraft, buy Jumpseat Tickets,.....! There are a lot of different ways to earn and spend premium miles. More information can be found on our website. - Chat System We have integrated the arrowchat Chat System to our website. This is a great way for our pilots to stay connected and exchange their experiences. Besides the private chat function we also have Chat Rooms in use. Hellenic Flight Training (a VATSIM ATO Authorized Training Organisation) has now started to work on the training documentation for the VATSIM P2 rating after our P1 rating courses were a great success and we plan to expand our service to even higher ratings in the future. There were countless changes at all other parts of the website as well plus our Dispatch Office has been extensively upgraded and now offers a highly detailed Flight Briefing, ICAO Flight Plan, Aircraft Voyage Reports, Boarding Passes, Pilot to Pilot flight Information and lots of other stuff. Last thing i want to mention is that Hellenic Airways has left GlobalOne Alliance and has launched the AEOLUS Virtual Airline Alliance in cooperation with TNT Virtual. Currently there are 6 member airlines from Europe, South America and the United States and we are continuously expanding the alliance network to other parts of the world. The Alliance not only gives our airline staffs the opportunity to support each other but also offers events and in the future an information database for our airlines pilots. just say "set" and it will skip to the next item

Hm funny enough now i got the wrong Config 3 Briefing on my first leg.... in the MCDU and also on the Briefing page it shows config full but he was reading config 3. Even replayed the briefing a 2nd time to confirm it

for me that is the case... only happens on the 2nd leg

Yeah it works for me on the first legs as well but not on the second (return leg) when i had a flap 3 landing at my first leg and change it back to Full on my second leg he keeps saying flaps 3 in the second leg`s approach briefing. I`m always using Turnaround state at the first leg. But did not select any state for the return flight.

yeah i can confirm this but it only happened to me when on my first leg i had a Flap 3 landing...on the return leg i changed it tu Full again but in the briefing he still said Flaps 3

well i had AES enabled "YES" on my other flights and diasbaled "NO" on my current flight and it happened with both settings. On all flights i used the turn around state of the aircraft. - I call ground to disconnect the APU - After a while ground confirms it`s disconnected and the blue "ON" light on the overhead panel goes off - However the green Avail is still visible on the overhead panel and if i ask for the before start procedure the F/O tells me that the GPU is still connected.

Hi Bryan, i have just noticed that when i ask ground to disconnect the GPU it doesnt actually disconnect. It`s just turned off on the overhead panel but it stays on Avail.... meaning the GPU is still connected to the aircraft. At least it happens everytime when i use default Turn Around State. I guess this isnt meant to be like that cause if i ask ground to disconnect GPU i expect them to remove it and not that they come into my cockpit and press the button on my overhead panel hehe best regards Manuel

Hi all, is there a way to set your display mode of the ND back to map after you asked your F/O to set it to raw data? Whenever i turn it back to ARC it immediately pops back to raw data! regards Manuel Seiwald

Hi guys, another month has passed since my last news update and again we have some news to tell you about. First of all i want to introduce to you Mr. Brian Collins as new Management Assistant for Hellenic Airways Group and Mr. Daniel Sloan as Manager for our wet lease flight operations. We are happy to have both of them in our Staff and we are looking forward to a good cooperation. During the last month two new wet lease operators have signed contracts with hellenic airways group. EVA Air which brought the B777 and B747 into our fleet and Brussels Airlines added the Avro Regional Jet. We are currently conducting negotiations about further leasing agreements with US Airways and Tunisair. We also had several changes to our website during the last days. Some design changes on the frontpage you`ll have already seen for sure. In addition to them we have completely redesigned the staff and vacancies pages. A new statistics pages has been added under the pilot center tab. A NOTAMs page for greece has been added under the Informations tab and the airport NOTAM`s for the respective airports have been added directly into the pilot flight briefing and also the airport information pages. Other minor changes were made to several other pages aswell. Finally in the last week we have opened our own "Hellenic Airways Company Channel" Teamspeak 3 Server. We there offer channels for free fun chat, event communication, operational channels and the management and staff rooms where you can ask a staff member directly if you need anything. Our members can find the login information inside our General Discussion Forum.

Hellenic Airways Group is proud to announce that we have just reached our first goal of 1000 flight hours after ~8 months of operation. We are continuously growing to a nice FS community. To celebrate this achievement we will have an event at LGAV in June and want to invite all of you to join us. I will post more information on this as soon as everything is fixed. Ok now there were some changes since my last post here. First of all we are currently implementing our summer schedules for 2012. During the summer months the frequency of flights from/to Athens LGAV will be reduced and we will have more aicraft based on the islands as holiday destinations. Also our WetLease operations programm has duly arrived at our members and therefore we will add a 5th operator to our wet lease operations soon. We now offer the possibility to book charter flights to our captains and senioer captains where you can decide from where to where you fly in whatever aircraft you like. Our brand new hellenic airways AES vehicle livery pack is going to arrive within the next week. MTL model liveries for the online networks will follow next and also a hellenic airways AI traffic packages is in the planning stage. Also we again made many changes and improvements to our website that are too many to mention here. Hi guys,we had a major update of our website during the last weeks to a fresh and stylish look. We are now running for 6 months but unfortunately have very few active members. We had to find out that completely fictive VA`s are having a hard time with attracting people to fly for them. Therefore we decided to have some of our aircraft flying for other "real world" operators on wetlease contracts. We currently have this concept in a trial phase with Jetstar Airways, Thomson Airways and Norwegian Air Shuttle. If you love flight simulation as much as we do and are interested in joining a team that really is trying to create the best atmosphere for it`s members give us a chance and join us. We are always there in the forums to listen to new ideas and help you with problems as much as we can.Finally again some information about the current setup of the VA:We operate Passenger and Cargo Flights from Greek Airports with Hubs in Athens, Thessaloniki and Paphos with a modern fleet of Boeing and Airbus aircraft for medium and long range flights and ATR & F70 on regional flights. Hi We have now our complete website setup and new HELTRACK flight tracking client! starting normal airline operations from now on!We are still looking for staff members and of course many pilots ;) any help is appreciated!"Hellenic Airways is a new Athens based virtual airline. The airline was founded by two real life pilots (I`m first officer on A320`s myself) and a real life ramp agent in Salzburg. We are currently operating a fleet of 11 Airbus A320 family aircraft and 6 Boeing 737 -700/-800`s. For regional and domestic routes we have ATR72`s and EMB145`s in our fleet, however the EMB`s will be replaced by RJ100`s in the near future. We also have started some long range operations with 2 new Airbus A330 and 2 Boeing 757-200 aircraft. Most aircraft are based in athens but we have also established bases in Kos, Heraklin, Thessaloniki, Rhodes, Samos and Paphos where 1 or 2 aircraft are based on each of those airports. There are also plans for a Corfu Base in the upcomming weeks.
