Rotate MD-80 - patched?
I don't have the md80 yet but the tu154 is fantastic, easily the most complex and detailed systems I've had a chance to fly on sim. But because of this, and the language barrier for those who don't speak Russian, learning material is a little sparse and it's a very steep learning in curve for some of the finer points of the aircraft.

PMDG DC-6 Release info
Point noted. Although it is interesting how different this is to the humble bundle, and steam usage statistics, which put linux and mac much closer to each other (and much much smaller in comparison with windows). I think you're digging yourself a bit of a hole there mate. I get the feeling you guys don't have the best intentions, please, no one wants to start a flame war here. If I do move to windows at some point again I'll certainly buy this aircraft it looks fantastic, and the systems depth it apparently has, certainly appeals to me, and probably would to many other linux users. I'm not purposely boycotting PMDG out of some sort of uninformed belief that they are linux haters or something. far out. Anyway there's always the chance that if we ask nicely, they might give a statement on whether or not they are planning to take the product in that direction. It will be interesting to watch youtube videos of you guys flying it and seeing how in depth they've really taken it. Haven't seen any videos yet of people flying it or starting it completely manually, does anyone know of one?

No of course not, you're only entitled to a product when you pay for it. If PMDG offered a linux version for a higher price statistics show that they would probably make almost the same in sales as Mac OSX. (We're willing to spend more for the same thing): http://cheesetalks.net/humble/

PMDG DC-6 Release info
Not overly surprised, just disappointed. Most major game engines support all three platforms, so a large percentage of games coming out also support this platform. Define ulterior motive? I'm sure it's a mix of reasons. If it were purely money to choose to support or not support a platform, why are so many big companies making the "mistake" of supporting this platform? One motive, which I'm sure is one that drives a number of developers, including myself, is that linux is a much more friendly platform to developers themselves, I love the software development environment on linux and struggle to go back to windows for this reason. I have a sneaking suspicion this is why x-plane originally supported the platform. There are other motives too, of which I'm sure the likes of Valve, Unity, Unreal, Crytek etc are well aware of. As for support numbers, this is hard to quantify, do you have/know any data which suggests that the support costs of an additional unix platform (on top of supporting mac osx) are as large as you make them out to be? I'd be interested just as an aside to this whole thing. Anyway, didn't want to hijack this thread, just wanted to leave the comment that there's an x-plane user here who thinks this looks fantastic and would like to buy this product but won't/can't for this reason. that is all. Edit: Also looking forward to this product having raised the bar for all the other developers, and seeing what's to come.

Just like IXEG no linux support? what a bummer if that's the case. another one to add to the list. Guess it goes to show just how much more enjoyable the experience is that we persist in using the os even though some designers aren't supporting it...
