  1. Truthfully, I love the content that has actually been produced, but everything about Ben's disappearance and the associated radio silence has left me angry. As demonstrated by the Sherlock Holmes quality of sleuthing done by people on here, nothing bad happened. He wasn't lost to Covid or anything like that. He left, nothing more. He turned his back on a community that supported his business, without so much as footnote to say "I'm ending the project early." There are 6 training programs available for purchase on the site, The A320 product page makes no mention of the fact that the last videos aren't available, and likely will never be available. You only find that out after purchase. There's nothing to say that this isn't true of any of the other 5 programs, yet they are all there available for purchase but with no support whatsoever should you have any problems accessing them. All that's happening now is Ben is enjoying a new life in Bahrain, occasionally enjoying a free meal at a restaurant thanks to another poor person buying a program that they think is complete but isn't. Ben, you seemed to have a real passion for flight simming when A2S started out. We liked the content and we liked you. Sadly, your refusal to acknowledge your loyal customers and still take money for incomplete products from new ones leaves you sitting down there next to FSXGenius (for those who remember him) in my books.
  2. Thanks for the reply. I'm off to the bank to stick some money in my account so I can buy it when I get home.
  3. I've been away from FSX for about a year now due to work commitments, but I'm starting to get back into it, and was really pleased to hear about the FS2Crew Reboot for the NGX. Just a quick question before I hit the BUY button: Does the reboot include and emergency procedures? If not, will Emergency NGX work with it, or are you going to be doing a reboot of that too?
  4. I love *nearly* everything I've just read above, and have already earmarked a chunk of money to get the next Q400 course. The only thing I'm still hesitant about, as I've mentioned in other posts, is using the Aerosoft Airbus. I think its more than adequate for the first level of training, but if you want to go deeper into the systems later on then unless the A319 is a massive improvement on the A320 AXE then I suspect it's going to lack something. I'd much prefer to see you wait until the FSLabs bird is released and see how that compares (even if it takes a few more months to get it finished), as my reading suggests its going to be comparable in quality to the Q400. Either way, I'll be buying any and all future courses regardless.
  5. Aerosoft is doing an A319? I really must pay more attention to things. LOL I'm still more interested in seeing the FSLabs A320 released.
  6. In my experience with various aircraft VAPP is usually the same as VREF+5.
  7. All this talk of VATSIM.... Can I please jump in to give IVAO a little plug? hehe
  8. From a design perspective, I'm surprised that they didn't opt to put a rudder trim control on the control yoke so that trim and power could be adjusted together. Having to set power and release the throttles THEN move your hand back to the trim knob seems a bit odd. Did anyone at Bombardier actually talk to a pilot when they were designing this bird?
  9. Just curious, but what exactly is the point of the ALT SEL button? The fact that they've put it in there suggests that there would be situations where you wouldn't want the AP to stop the climb or descent at the selected level, so can anybody tell me what those situations might be? It seems like the only reason to make you manually arm the level-off is to catch pilots out. Discuss
  10. Guys, I bought the Cadet program last week and have already watched the whole thing twice! Absolutely, 100%, no-question-about-it the BEST flightsim training package I've seen. I've got several packages from another training provider mainly catering for the Boeing fleet, but you've really shown the world how it should be done. I think what really does it for me is the interaction in the videos. Rather than 1 person simply going through the motions, having that back-and-forth chat on the how-and-why as it goes along makes a real difference. Its that interaction that got me thinking about your pending FO course. With the "Pro" edition of the Q400 just around the corner (hopefully), I'd love to see Josh do a short video specifically dealing with task management when you have 2 pilots on the flightdeck. I know that typically the PNF will handle the radios, but an explanation of who does what and when would be fantastic. Also, taking the Cadet training program as an example, on a typical 4-sector day when do the PF and PNF swap roles? A fully-functional shared-cockpit in FS is something we've all dreamed about for years, and with the Pro Edition on its way it looks like our prayers are going to be answered. It would be nice to be prepared for it when it arrives. Regarding the speed everything happens at in the Cadet videos, I appreciate it can be frustrating trying to keep up, but I just skipped back a bit if I missed something. The realtime element was something I really liked. It added a sense of urgency and gave me a feeling of just how pushed pilots can be. I feel guilty now about taking up 5 minutes of the crew's turnaround time last time I visited the flightdeck after landing at Bristol! And just as a note to Ian (above), yes, the Q400 will make the steep approach the EGLC just fine IF you're fully configured at flap 35 before you hit the glideslope. The virtual airline I fly with (FlyUK) operate most of their Q400 flights in and out of EGLC, so I've become very familiar with it. Its still scary though.
  11. If its the feeling of smoothness you're looking for then it may be as simple as checking your EZDOK settings. I need to do this almost every time I load up as it always seems to return to its default state, but open your EZDOK window and select the general settings. On the right side of the settings window you should see options such as Walk, Cinema, 3D Game, and Float. Each one is available for Cockpit, Aircraft and World Cameras. I find that the software seems to default back to 3D Game for each mode when I load up, so I need to go in and change all 3 to "Cinema." With those setting I get nice smooth movements instead of the camera flying around too fast. Might be worth checking.
