  1. Thanks Nick. I'll look into that.
  2. I was using FSINN. I'm unfamiliar with OAT.
  3. I flew KSNA-KSFO recently using the usual CHANL1 RZS J501 BSR BSR2 at 36000. However, at around FL280, the climb dramatically slowed to around 400 fpm (maybe less), and I got "unable cruise altitude." This seemed strange because at a reasonable rate of climb the plane could easily make 36000; they fly even higher sometimes in the rw route. Am I doing something wrong here? Thanks for any replies,Kyle
  4. Yep, I'm going to look around before messing with this system! =)
  5. Sounds like it's worth a try. Thanks =)
  6. I don't know to much about computers but does overclocking really give a big increase in performance? If so, is it free software to do it, and does this effect the overall long term performance of the machine? I've kinda been wondering about doing it myself.
  7. Nice vid, happy new year! Btw, I've got the same specs as you. Now all I need is a new yoke =D.
  8. Sounds like fun. How long of a flight is that?
  9. I figured it out. My joystick is quite off-centered (I've owned it for a while) and when I release my hold on it, LNAV/HDG sel take it as a control input.
  10. OK, ran into another question. I was flying the BXK2 out of KPHX and after takeoff I enabled LNAV. The plane began to make a slight left turn (as it should) but then the LNAV jerked off and I was left with nothing. Any ideas? For some reason, on that same departure, I was unable to enable VNAV as well.
  11. Hey,Sorry for the earlier post; yep I found the LOC/GS buttons .Just flew an ILS into LAX on VATSIM SWA478 at night. The HUD is awesome! Thanks all for the replies.Kyle
  12. Thanks guys, that helps a lot. One more question. On final approach, or shortly before that, how can I take over the speed from the FMC speed. I would like to keep the VNAV (controlling the g/s) and LNAV (controlling the loc) but fine tune the speed near the final approach segment. Any way to do this?Kyle
  13. It took me a while, but I finally broke down to hand over $70 for this plane. I'm speechless. The detail and dynamics of this plane are simply outstanding. The HUGS display is a great feature as well. I do have a few questions though, having only owned this plane for a few hours. First, does the altitude hold (on the auto-pilot panel) override the VNAV path? I found a few times during a KLAX-KLAS run that the plane missed it's TOD and some other crossing restrictions; however, I have a feeling it's because the altitude hold restricted it from descending further. Second, does an accidental knock of the joystick override the LNAV. A few times the LNAV popped off, probably by me subconsciously pushing on my joystick.Third, does this plane have a "direct" function? For ex, ATC gives a short cut to a fix that isn't my next fix. Fourth, I've heard of a "descend now/present position" function. Where is this, and how is this applied?I'd appreciate any responses. Thanks and happy holidays.Kyle
  14. What exactly is your machine (out of curiosity)And thanks for the input Mas
  15. I appreciate all the replies everyone. Sounds like it will run fine; I'm sold. Same here, usually around 40 even at low altitudes.Well this is kinda off topic but does anyone use any kind of "track-ir"/EZdok software? I like how EZdok allows you to create custom views; it seems like this would make it a lot easier and more enjoyable to work in a VC. Track-IR also looks amazing, but I'm not really willing to drop $139 on it. Any comments on this?Thanks.P.S. Another question: Do I need to buy an AIRAC for the NGX after purchasing it? Or does a current AIRAC come with it?
  16. Hey,I'm looking to buy the 737ngx and am wondering how smooth it will run on my system. My specs:Intel i5 2500K (3.3 GHZ)4GB ramNvidia GTX560 (1GB)Windows 7 (64-Bit)/FSXand I'm not worried about my hardrive. I think I should also note that I don't have any other addons (no scenery, traffic, etc) and get completely smooth frames with the default 737.So any ideas on how well this will run? I'm also thinking of getting the EZdok add on with it. Anyone have any feedback on that? Appreciate any responses. Happy holidays.
