December 23, 201114 yr Hey,I'm looking to buy the 737ngx and am wondering how smooth it will run on my system. My specs:Intel i5 2500K (3.3 GHZ)4GB ramNvidia GTX560 (1GB)Windows 7 (64-Bit)/FSXand I'm not worried about my hardrive. I think I should also note that I don't have any other addons (no scenery, traffic, etc) and get completely smooth frames with the default 737.So any ideas on how well this will run? I'm also thinking of getting the EZdok add on with it. Anyone have any feedback on that? Appreciate any responses. Happy holidays.
December 23, 201114 yr I have the same specs and I get about 15 fps in vc, and about 30 outside the airplane.
December 23, 201114 yr hi kyle, im sure your system will have no bother running the ngx. ive got an e2200 2.5 ghz processor and 4gig ram on a 32 bit system with a 9500gt 512mb graphics card, and i get around about 15fps in the air, but one thing i will say about this aircraft is the overall feeling of smoothness even when the frames take a hit, i can even get the ngx into EGLL without too much sweat, its all about how you set up fsx, ive spent an awful lot of time tuning my fsx and im perfectly happy with what i get. i really do recomend you take the plunge to becoming an ngx owner! you may also find this link useful http://www.simforums.com/forums/setting-up-fsx-and-how-to-tune-it_topic29041.html it basically tells you how to set up everything, you may have to change a couple things but it will put you in the best starting point. hope this has given you a good insight! any questions just ask :D Name : Stuart McIntyreVatsim ID : 932425http://www.flyuk.aero
December 23, 201114 yr You'll be fine, i7 2600k @ 3.4 and a gtx 460 1 gig and never go below 25fps mainly between 30and 50 in vc with reasonable settings and no addon scenery. Just follow the recommendations in the documentation on set up and it'll run very smooth.
December 24, 201114 yr Commercial Member I have the same specs and I get about 15 fps in vc, and about 30 outside the airplane. There's a problem with your system then - that's far too low for such specs. There aren't many configurations better than an i5 2500K and a GTX560 for FSX. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com

December 24, 201114 yr If you're only getting 15 fps on a system that's better than mine then either all your settings are full right, you're running resource hungry add ons, or your system is running something in the background. For info, with default 737 and most sliders maxed I get 40+ fps, sometimes going up to 70 with no add ons. If you're not getting that then you need to have a look at your start up settings.
December 24, 201114 yr what's happening on your system?? I got a SONY notebook with Intel T6400 2x2GHz and a ATI HD4500 (mobility) and I can run the NGX in the air with about 25 FPS, while approach to e.g. MAP Frankfurt I usually have about 12-15 FPS !! did you tweak your fsx.cfg?? December 24, 201114 yr Author I appreciate all the replies everyone. Sounds like it will run fine; I'm sold. For info, with default 737 and most sliders maxed I get 40+ fpsSame here, usually around 40 even at low altitudes.Well this is kinda off topic but does anyone use any kind of "track-ir"/EZdok software? I like how EZdok allows you to create custom views; it seems like this would make it a lot easier and more enjoyable to work in a VC. Track-IR also looks amazing, but I'm not really willing to drop $139 on it. Any comments on this?Thanks.P.S. Another question: Do I need to buy an AIRAC for the NGX after purchasing it? Or does a current AIRAC come with it?
December 24, 201114 yr It comes with the airac from August from when it was released. Alfredo Terrero
December 24, 201114 yr If you haven't done so already, run http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html. Just input your system information, upload your FSX.cfg file and it'll optimize it and give you the tweaked version to download. Jeff Thomson
December 24, 201114 yr Saying you get 15FPS in the VC leaves so many possibilities. Are you are KSEA with traffic, max autogen, and ORBX? Are you in a Nevada desert? Come on guys. With my system, I can run 40% AI traffic, AS2012 with 2048 clouds, 16xQaa, and a default KCLT (custom AFCAD) in the mid 40's from the VC of the NGX. At the default KSEA and the same settings, I get around 25-30FPS in the cockpit. All sliders right except autogen, which is at "very dense".If I really want to try, I can get FSX into the low teens by throwing traffic, heavy scenery addons, etc at it. It's a dream machine, not a miracle machine. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

Or does a current AIRAC come with it?I have both TIR and EzD. Both of them is 100% worth the price. However, I find that TIR is the one most revolutionary thing that happened in my FS life - without doubt. Even more than the NGX itself ;) It's total immersion once you get used to it. It took me about 5 mins to get used to it, but I have however heard of people having more diffuculty getting used to the thing. So what's the ups and downs with the two products? Well, the only two things that comes to mind about the downs on TIR are:- When you look around in the VC in the extreme positions - like all the way up (AFT OH) og all the way down - like Rudder trim, the view can be a little unsteady- If you have sunlight coming into the room your sitting at, in certain angels, it can disturb the device, so better have some decent curtains.I like to combine EzD and TIR, because at some points i wanna have a 2D panel-ish view of things. Even though I can set every switch and knob in the VC using TIR, it is sometimes more handy and comfortable using a 2D view.I've been using TIR for several years without even considering EzD. But when I found out that EzD have these "bumbing" effects to the view (like in tubulence, rolling on the RWY and such), I took the plunge...So basically (in my world at least):TIR is the no. 1 MUST HAVE add-on.EzD is a very nice LIKE TO HAVE add-on.Both products worth the money, but again, I'm an adult with steady income, so I realize that money is a relative term.Mas Martin Jensen
