  1. Thanks a lot.I am reading...........What a fantastic job also Risager has done. 196 pages - PMDG must be happy.RegardsCarl Michael
  2. Congratulations Jeroen. Both with the list and with your succesfull flight.I must read Tom Risager's tutorial. As you say: Doing it right is one thing - knowing why is quite another. I have seen it somewhere, but could you quickly give the link to Tom Risager's tutorial pls.Even before I got the PMDG 737, I was on a tour around the globe (in FSX 737), often doing 2 or more stops in on one evening. Now I am on my way south along the west coast of Panama and next time I stop for the night I will secure the plane and hope for the best............Now I will soon stop flying for a while and take a vacation to Morzine in France - by car.RegardsCarl Michael
  3. It simply must be possible! I have, so far, narrowed down the problem to having the yaw damper engaging after having set the IRS.May be - I shall test that - IRS need to be on "Align" while initiating the FMC (Pos Init) and only then be set to NAV. It is probably all in the manuals, but just the size of those make me turn away ;-) As I said "trial and error".And you are quite right: We don't need to secure the aircraft, but now it has become some sort of a sport to be able to leave the plane secured after a days work - and be able to come back the next day and bring it to proper life once more.Once again: YOU LIST IS GREAT!RegardsCarl Michael
  4. Congratulations Gavin.I Just wish that had such dove for that purpose. Envious - not at all ;-)...................I will have sto stick with my old stick (X52) for a while yet - fu.......RegardsCarl Michael
  5. And look at the Airbus - there is a stick for a liner.............RegardsCarl Michael
  6. It all comes down to taste, but I find it more realistic to fly a liner with a joystick than to fly a fighter with a yoke.RegardsCarl Michael
  7. Steve,Go for the "HOG"! You can fly a 737 with a stick - but you can't fly an A10 with a yoke.Remember though that you will need a set of pedals to go with the "HOG".-RegardsCarl MichaelSticking to the head line "what to choose", I here by dare to clutter to topic by asking the following:Not being quite erady to fly on line, I would like to hear recommendations for the best add on ATC?????RegardsCarl Michael
  8. Hej Tom,"ALT" will bring up the FSX menu and unde "aircraft" you find the kneeboard.RegardsCarl Michael
  9. Congratulations both of you!!!Only thing is that it definitely looks better in Arial 10.RegardsCarl Michael
  10. I am still not quite sure my self, so I need to study the problem once more and come back. (But it is something about having only connection from APU bleed to the one engine you want to start and then swich over when you want to start the other engine).RegardsCarl Michael
  11. Great job. But I miss the proper settings of the bleed valves and separation valves before engine start - which is rather important, especially as you are changing the settings at shut down. Agree?RegardsCarl Michael
  12. Clear the Destination ICAO - thanks! I will try that in my 737NGXRegardsCarl Michael
  13. Being so new as I am to the use of the FMC, I some times make a mess of it all and really need to start all over. Is there a way to "reset" the FMC? (scrach all - escape - CTRL....)I know one answer: "Read the manuals". But please, a little bit of help would be highly appreciated.RegardsCarl Michael
  14. Thanks Howard,There is a small fortune there - both the Hog AND pedals...........Anyhow, I need the rudder function when flying the Hog (A10), so I think I will keep my Saitek X52 for a while yet.RegardsCarl Michael
  15. I aquired my PMDG 737 NGX on Jan. 9th and it was overwhelming. After trying the tutorial by the letter, I decided to try (on my own) to close down to C&D. It worked, but then the engines would not start :( . As I was aware of a need to set bleed valves correctly and by trial and ERROR, I managed to get engines running. Now I read the "checklist" by WestAir i the topic "Engines won't start" and I would have liked very much to have had that - it is good.BUT can one of you explain to me the (technical) reasons for the ways the bleed valves have to be set at start (e.g. why is it important to leave the L PACK and its bleed valve OFF when starting the right engine)????As for me, you are welcome to be A BIT sarcastic but please bear with me if my English is incorrect - it is after all not my native language.RegardsCarl MichaelPS.: I like the quote: "Enough is too little; too much is enough" - it could have some bearing on reading the manuals :(
