  1. I thought I knew where it was (SouthEast of McGrath). I've flown around that area all morning and the pointer is always "out of range" Can anyone give me some clues on how to get this AOD?
  2. Well the aerocache count seems to change. After todays Coconut Island aerocache, my count is now 163. I'm not real concerned about the count, I was just wondering what others were showing.
  3. Yup, all messed up again. Not sure how I'm doing compared to others, but I think I have 168 of them. If I'm missing some, I guess I'll never figure out what ones they are.
  4. I flew through the center of the aerocache for Cone Island 5 times, and it never registered. It's a buggy one. Don't even bother (but it's at about 4,200 feet if you want to try for yourself)
  5. Thanks to all for advice and suggestions. 3:00 AM I got it working right, like it used to. At the highest settings, I made the flight up to the top of Mt. McKinley. Hoo Rah.
  6. Kabronicus, I've tried LOW settings, I've tried windowed mode, I've run checkdisk, I've done a dianostic on the video card, and Nothing seems to work. Flight is the ONLY program I'm having a problem with, so i doubt it's the video card. (it checks out fine). Now no matter where I fly, I can fly for about 10 min, and then the screen goes black, and I lose any control of the computer. Now where do I look on how to do a clean Uninstall and then re-install flight. Not fun.
  7. Thanks Hook, tried that, but it didn't help. Worse than I thought. It appears I can only fly for about 10 min and then it crashes the computer. Looks like a video problem but I'm not smart enoung to figure those things out. I'd delet Flight and re-install it, but I'm not sure how to do all that, and don't know if I want to bother since it's going TU.
  8. For some strange reason, I can't fly anywhere close to Mt. McKinley without my computer crashing. I can fly all over Hawaii, and most of Alaska but Mt. McKinley is the first aerocache I haven't been able to get. (other than the one at 85,000 feet). I've tried 5 times and each time I start getting close, my screen goes black. The computer is still on, but I have no control of anything and have to do a hard reset to get the computer working again. Strange......
  9. I'm not a teckie person, so I have a graphic card question. I currently have a Nvidia GeForce GT220 in my Dell computer. Flight and x-plane both run smooth. My question is: Would I see a difference if I went to something like a GTX560 Ti? I only have a 360 watt power supply so I'd guess I'd need to beef that up also. Any thoughts?
  10. Well that one was a bit of a challange. Swoop down to get it, it's right near the edge of the lake.
  11. I guess I'll put out money for something with a cockpit. I'll never spend another penny on anything without a cockpit.
  12. Shouldn't have much of a problem finding this one. It's on the top of Mt. Cleveland.
  13. I want to thank both parties that responded to my plea for help. I now have Flight working again, and have all my content. It even found all my records (well almost all). I had to start at level 0, and can do all the missions again. But at least my profile shows everthing I've done (like 146 aerocaches) Thanks guys you were a big help.
  14. I got this from Microsoft and it doesn't make any sense to me. Uninstall: Microsoft Flight Microsoft Games for Windows - LIVE Redistributable Microsoft Games for Windows Marketplace Delete the following folders (you find them by pasting the following into the start menu): %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Xlive\DLC %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Xlive\updates Then re-download the Client via http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/pc/downloadclient . Then re-download Flight via the Steam link http://store.steampowered.com/app/203850 Thanks, Why would Microsoft want me to go to Steam to get Flight? I'm going to hold of on re-Installing Flight till I find out more from someone that has done a re-Install. I had to restore my computer to a point BEFORE I had Flight, and now I'd like to get it back. And hope I don't have to pay for everything again. *I do have backups of all the flight files when I had it working. Any help would be appreciated.
  15. Checked the drive and it's fine. Did the Reliability monitor, and found that Windows had (3) unsuccessful attempts to reconfigure FLIGHT yesterday. (error code 1603) No idea what to try now, and the folks at Microsoft Flight don't seem to want to help.
  16. I've tried a number of different ways. First I just installed it over the existing files. Since that didn't work, I did a complete un-install (after the repair didn't work) and then did a clean install. I even tried installing it to a different folder. (didn't work either) It's the NON Steam version.
  17. This morning my computer crashed. I was able to do a system restore and everything works now EXCEPT for Flight. When I try and start flight I get this message "Microsoft Flight encountered an error wile initializing it's systems. The program will now exit." - That's it. nothing else. I've tried a reinstall and I get the same message. I went to Flight's support, but all I got was a canned email with some links to some of the common causes for Flight not working. Anyone have any ideas on how I can get flight working again?
  18. We are talking about the Iditarod - Dogsled race from Anchorage to Nome. The race starts the first Saturday in March, so the 2012 race is over. But, you can adjust the time in FLIGHT, so why not fly the support flights that the Iditarod Air Force flies to support the racers. They even have their own website: dogflying.com I flew into Rainy Pass and it was a blast. (the airport is right on the edge of the lake) I'll be spending my time flying the Iditarod route. At least till they come up with aerocaches for Alaska
  19. I talked with the FSWidgets folks yesterday and they said they hoped to have a fix for the Gmap not loading (within a week). Hope they can fix that, I think Gmap will be a big help in Alaska.
  20. The videos is fine, but this site isn't about FSX, it's for stuff about microsoft FLIGHT.
  21. I have a few more than RoboRay, (I'm at 145) Nope, I don't have the curveature of the earth one, and doubt I ever will get it. If there are 152 around Hawaii, I guess I still have a few more to find.
  22. If you hunt for the aerocache along Highway 61 you will not find it. And it's not on the next highway through the mountains either (It's not on highway 63) You need to follow the John A. Burns Highway (Highway 113) if you want to find it. Someone needs to buy the aerocache guys a Rand/McNally.
