  1. A very challenging aircraft that I feel would be very rewarding in Flight. True aviation at it's best. :)
  2. :Praying: Please dev team release this aircraft. No kidding, if you release this one I will buy it for sure whether or not there is a cockpit to fly with. Being from the Navy this aircraft would be very fun for me to fly. What did Pilots Call the F4U Corsair? Nicknames for the F4U Corsair included : U Bird, The Hog, The Ensign Eliminator, Old Hog-Nose, The Bent-Wing Bird, Whistling Death, Sweetheart of Okinawa, Horseshoe, and The Great Iron Bird. The nickname "Ensign Eliminator" came from the fact that inexperienced pilots could have accidents with the F4U Corsairs due to the powerful engine. The nickname "Whistling Death" was reportedly given to the F4U Corsair because of the destinctive sound that the aircraft made in flight. :Praying: This is one warbird on my wishlist. :American Flag: USA Forever!!
  3. I use the Saitek yoke with throttle quadrant and the Saitek rudder pedels. Awesome stuff to virtually fly... brings you that much closer. http://www.saitek.com/uk/prod/yoke.html http://www.saitek.com/uk/prod/pedals.html
  4. Completed the same flight that I usually fly in the RV in Flight using the Leerjet in FSX. The fun factor was not there as I zoomed around the islands. This got me to thinking about everyone's desire to have jets brought into Flight. As long as the plan stays to create small areas of operation there should not be any jets designed. I felt before that the fun might increase as speed increases, but the idea of going from top to bottom of the island chain in an hour or less seems pointless. The only plus side to jets would be that you can carry more passengers faster.

  6. I just did a little research for the slowest, worst airliner flown which was the DC-2. I think this will be the one they release. LOL. Either way I would be glad to get a dual engine aircraft with more cargo/PAX space. Crew: 2-3 Capacity: 14 passengers Maximum speed: 210 mph at 6,800ft (338 km/h) Range: 1,085 mi (1,750 km) Service ceiling: 22,750 ft (6,930 m) Rate of climb: 1,030 ft/min (310 m/min)
  7. The pic kinda reminds me of the underneath of the engine of the Beech 18.
  8. I am going to have to agree that there should not be 747 brought into this game. There are enough problems with the users flying the slow planes that a sky full of huge airliners seems like trouble. If any jet aircraft are brought in to the game there should be: Learjet F-16 737 CRJ SR-71 Anything more than that and this game will be almost unplayable due to the massive aircraft all over the sky and airfields.
  9. I prefer the airport at Lanai. It is a nice open area with a picture perfect airport. Has a nice long runway and no huge trees at the edge of the runway. The view of the water isn't too bad either.
  10. A good research website might be: http://flighttraining.aopa.org/students/presolo/special/atccomm.html This will give you some understanding about Traffic communication. All in all this is meant to be fun so just listen to others and practice. Basic rule of thumb, state who you are, where you are going and how are you going to get there. Example: "(Vicinity Traffic), (Callsign), is type (aircraft), (where you are) is (where you are going) at (altitude)" Hilo Traffic, Razorhog, is type RV, 10 NM North is inbound to land RWY 26 Hilo at 3,000 ft. Using the correct wording will come as you practice more. It actually is a lot of fun when a bunch of pilots are communicating with each other. :) Of course I may be a little bit of a :Nerd: when it comes to aviation. lol
  11. Sorry but I cannot agree with this, with full flaps and proper speed I find that the runways on Flight are more than enough length to properly land. Pressing [X] will slow the aircraft using the brakes and [shift] + [X] will apply parking brake. When in taxi use low power, I rarely go over 13% in the RV, 40% in the Icon and Maule.
  12. Well, it's all in how deep you want to make this a simulator type environment. It could be just as simple as assigning you a transponder number and "tracking" you in the small Hawaii map. If would then be up to you to communicate as best as you want. It could be more in depth so as you enter or exit "circles" of airspace the tower will follow you and give you a set of text options to pick from to "announce" your intentions. I doubt that it will be voice activated as people from all over will be logging into this game speaking different languages. But it is 2012....
  13. Might be cool but you may never get to zipper your way into busier airports like Honolulu. I would assume the real traffic is spaced about as close as they can. I would prefer a setting to set AI traffic as Low, Med, High. (sounds like fsx)
  14. I would set up longer approaches... this will allow you the time to have everything ready before touchdown. Remember to land at flap speed. I usually try for a 2 nm final, sometimes have to settle for 1nm. Try doing some traffic pattern flying to perfect the proper speed and desent rate. Practice makes perfect no matter what weather conditions. But thats just me...
  15. I might have to try it, although the communication that we use during MP is very similar to what "Real ATC" sounds like. I wonder if Microsoft will place some traffic in one of the future updates. Might bring a challenge to the flight if we have to line up with AI as well as other players. Circle in pattern waiting on clearence to land. I would like to finally use the transponders on the planes. :)
  16. Seems like when people are doing challenges or missions while in multiplayer their gamertag will disappear. FYI
  17. Wait... so just because this is a free roam game/simulator that gives everyone the right to act with no regard? What happens when you go out into the real world, do you go around ramming customers in Wal-Mart with your shopping cart. Seriously, people have no respect for others when they are online. They feel as though there is no personal respect and can do whatever they choose. An example of this is some of the language used online, honestly I was in the Navy and heard less cussing than on some of the flights I do on this platform. How about this... if you want to fly around crashing into anything that is in the game... "play" offline, don't penalize the rest of us because we use common courtesy to others. (climbing off soap box)
  18. A lot of us enjoy the fellowship of other pilots while flying around. Hmmm, perhaps the reason why we totally avoid flying into Hilo. Seriously, why would you pay for Flight to kamikazee other planes? Do with Flight as you want, just stick to the players that want to play with you the way you want to play and leave the others alone. Thanks.
  19. I agree and have flown with you all at some point. :) Using radio communication will help if you ever plan to get a PPL one day.
  20. I agree, nothing is more disappointing than to have someone come from behind while you are on slow final and knock you and your passenger or cargo out of the sky, especially if the flight was one of the longer ones. Makes that hour seem wasted. Please leave the pilots alone that are communicating their presence to you... they are not giving you coordinates for a kamikazee attack. <_<
  21. Maybe check your game options to make sure that you are using the correct mic and speakers configuration. Check the volume levels as well. When your friend presses [Tab] are you seeing his name in the bottom left corner of the screen. FYI: I have found that I will not see my name appear when I am transmitting (hopefully no slip-ups occur lol)
  22. I understand it as such... you both have to be on the correct frequencies and press ctrl tab to talk privately on that frequency. Otherwise, tuning the radios means nothing other than practice for the serious simmer. This is because your voice will be broadcast over all frequencies when you press tab only. If I am wrong please correct me. razorhog703
  23. It is not something that Microsoft has put in the game... yet. The other virtual pilots I fly with have created one for our sessions that does work when tuned in our sessions. I wish I knew how he does it, but it is kinda cool to hear when flying around.
