  1. Quick question for those of you who have this for FSX, or beta testing for v4, Is it possible to load fuel/PAX from within the sim at all? One of my favorite things about v4, is being able to do back to back to back (and more) fights, without ever leaving the sim. I've had the PMDG 777 do 5 flights, over 4 days, never left the sim, or reloaded a/c, scenery etc. I'm just curious if this will be possible for the 787? If the answer is yes, this will be a day one buy for me. Thanks for the info. -Tony@PVD
  2. I was very close to buying the FSL before the scandal hit. To each his/her own as to how they feel about it. But that decided it for me. FSL will never get my trust. I've been waiting for this aerosoft bus since last may (I think it was may) when v4 launched. In v3 it was my go to aircraft, I didn't fly much else. In my eyes, personally, the aerosoft airbus has a solid reputation. I didn't follow the CRJ drama for 7 years or whatever it was, but I did buy it at launch, and well, since the upgrade to 4.2 I haven't bothered to install it. This news, and all the talk of the timing with the FSL 319, has me worried. If they release a half baked product it could hurt, significantly, the reputation of their airbus series. I'd prefer to have a delayed release with a solid product. Either way, over the last year, I've migrated over to PMDG. Who knows, I might not want to fly the airbus much at all anymore.... -Tony@PVD
  3. Did they fix the charge at simmarket yet? I want the update, but I'm of the belief it's extremely unfair to charge early adopters (if you can call us that) an extra $2. Or well 2 euros...so like $2.5.
  4. First, welcome to P3D, you won't be disappointed. Second, in v4, we have an amazing new feature, called dynamic lighting. It really is amazing, and at night I personally only fly to airports, that support this feature. PMDG, when they updated the NGX, added compatibility for this feature as well. Great, right? Well, as it turns out, P3D, and dynamic lighting in general, not just with the NGX, don't get along all that well yet. The "cure" if you will, is to lower your AA settings. I have a 1080ti, and struggle to get to 20FPS at night in the NGX, at any dynamic lighting compatible airport. Hope this helps. -Tony@PVD

  6. Ive read somewhere that currently p3d is limited to only 200 or so dynamic lights at a time. Im thinking maybe they left the rwy/twy lights out to avoid that limit? I can tell you the lights around the terminal definitely utilize the new lighting system however. Hope this helps. -Tony@PVD Edit to add: that was regards to clt specifically .
  7. Just looking at some things I've seen posted. And it appears the sim is using a page file for extra RAM quite often. Anyone here have 32 gb RAM and willing to drop it to 16 for a speed test? Im wondering if FPS take a hit. And maybe 32gb RAM is needed for v4. Anyone with relevant info thanks ahead of time! -Tony@PVD
  8. All the FSDT and FlightBeam installers work with v4. GSX installs SODE, but there is no SODE menu. FYI CLT is AWESOME!, -Tony@PVD

  10. @pasayten I did a clean install of Win10 when it released, then waited for v3 to come out, so i dont have the original files. @pmb Yeah I tried downloading it using Edge, IE, and Chrome. I'll google flashget and see what I can find out about it and try. Thanks for the advice guys. -Tony@PVD
  11. *Mods feel free to move, with my apologies, if in the wrong forum* So my P3D v3 is almost all setup the way I like. Mesh is my last issue. Got an email from the FlightSimStore that FSGlobal2010 was upgraded with v3 compatibility. I downloaded each of the 6 files 4x last night.... trust me it took awhile. Each time, issue with extraction. Corrupt file downloads it said. I googled, and Binged and it doesn't seem like anybody had this issue. Anybody have any ideas what to do from here? I couldn't find any forums for FSglobal anywhere. Maybe I didn't look hard enough? I dunno, I'm at a loss, any help with this would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance. -Tony@PVD
  12. So, i was up all night last night setting up p3d. In case you guys are wondering my first impressions are just WOW. The cloud shadows are amazing. How did we ever fly without them? After work tonight i'll finally be able to do a test flight. Overall i'm very happy with the switch. Now i just hope i can complete flights without any OOMs. Thanks for all your help! I ended up purchasing the FSGlobal. And im not sure of any visual differences with FSgenesis, but i will tell you the install was much much easier. While i can't say i did exactly as you describe, I always have a way of installing things, that involves a little testing here and there. Before i installed any add-ons, i spent about an hour customizing the scenery settings and graphical settings. And after each big add-on checked to see how things were running and made adjustments as necessary. -Tony@PVD

  15. Ok, i finally made the switch to p3d. I purchased it before work this morning after doing research the last few days. Another fsx ctd last night convinced me its time. Google hasnt found the answers to all my questions so hopefully you guys wont mind helping me out. Fsuipc? Is it a requiremnt like with previous fs versions? I purchased ftx global and vector, which mesh is better for those? I own fsgenesis but am willing to pony up the money for fsglobal if its better. I will mainly be flying the aerosoft airbii, anything special i need to do there? Ive read conflicting posts. Navigraph. Ok no info anywhere about this. Will navigraph automatically find the aerosoft airbus in p3d to update, or ia there a trick there? Last but not least...(for now anyways)...i use fsbuild for flight planning. Is it just as easy as changing directories, or are the flight plan formats not compatible? Thanks in advance for your help with these questions. I mostly fly in/out of fsdt and flytampa airports.   16. I looked into this. And i appreciate you bringing it to my attention. However, I'm looking for something to watch the status of my flight, when I'm away from home. So it needs to work over the internet, not just local wifi. I might just bite the bullet, and try a few of these android apps, and see if any of them will work when not on the same wifi network. -Tony@PVD
  17. I did some googling, and couldn't find any recent threads about this. But I'm looking for a moving map/flight tracker, that I can use on either my Android phone, or web based. I have been doing a lot of long range routes lately (777), and I would like the ability to check on my flight progress when I'm at work, or just out of the house. None of the android apps in the market specify if they require the same wifi network, or if it works over the internet. Any suggestions are very much welcome. Thanks in advance. -Tony@PVD
  18. I tried 5 or 6 different landings over the weekend, no AI. Didn't get a single A/P disconnect. Then i read hopskips's post, and that makes the most sense. I'm going to have to turn off or down the wake effects. Hopefully my days of fudged landings are over!
  19. With AS6.5 I was thinking it was a visibility issue because it happens past the 'minimums' callout. The glideslop option doesn't seem to apply, as it descends just fine from capture alt. I am in the middle of several unplanned doubles are work, so the earliest I'l get some sim time is thu. But if i cant seem to find anything in the PMDG options to fix it, or if the course heading isnt the issue (which im doubting, but ill try anything), i will pause the second the A/P disconnects, and take a screen shot. Maybe that will help narrow it down, Thanks Again!
  20. Ok, so I havent had time to go thru the PMDG settings yet, but i can respond to the other questions. I have not checked the course settings, in fact, honestly unless there is an issue of some sort, i rarely check the NAVRAD page, however, if like u say it should give me some kind of warning, there definitely hasnt been anything of the sort pop up on the FMC. I do however use plenty of addon scenery, so im going to keep an eye on this the next time i hop in the sim. As far as the autoland, i do get land 3. I usually intercept ILS between 12-8miles out, depending on the approach procedure to the rwy. It does line up perfecty, intercepts the G/S and decends perfectly...until after 'minimums'. In fact thinking about it now, could it be a conflict with AS6.5? Something where the a/c thinks i cant see the rwy? Hum, very frustrating. And I have OT all week at work, so itll be a few days before i'm able to hop back in and troubleshoot some more. But i do appreciate all the help, and anymore suggestions certainly are welcome!

Its been awhile since I've gone thru the PMDG settings, I'm at work now, but maybe when i get home, i'll take out the manual, and go thru the settings one by one and see if i can find something. It drives me nuts, because it ruins what would otherwise be perfectly smooth landings.Thanks for your help, wish me luck!
  22. Ok, i should have mentioned this is in FS9. Sorry i forgot about that. But the ILS is chosen from the CDU. A/C lines up perfectly. There is no sign of anything wrong with the approach until I've flown past the "minimums" callout. Is there an FS9 registry tool? I've read about that fixing misaligned approaches, but thats not my problem here. the weird thing is, it doesn't always happen, and i've been trying to troubleshoot this for weeks, so i've taken notes on exactly what i do each time, to see if something is wrong. At one point I had thought it was because i 'reset' the altimeter at too low an altitude. That turned out to be a non issue. At this point, i'm pretty lost.

Hopefully there is a quick answer to why this keeps happening, but Often, tho not always, and at varying airports world wide, i find that once i get below the 200' callout, my A/P will disconnect, but not the A/T. The plane always immediatly rocks side to side, and for the most part I'm able to save the approach for a smoothish landing. I thought it was an AI issue, TCAS or something, so I tried a flight with zero AI. Still happened. It happens most on HNL's 8L. But the more and more i fly, the more its happening to me at other airports, last night @ PDX for example. I have the Vref set, and selected, usually i fly VNAV until nearing final, i'll select the APP button, and after the turn towards final the autoland kicks in. Flaps 30, i almost always do flaps 30 landing. Gear down. If I'm missing something that could help solve this, let me know. Any clues as to what i may be doing wrong, or neglecting to pay attention to are welcome, as I've found these issues are usually due to "pilot error".
