3 monitors via Matrox Triplehaed2go
Flying Tiger replied to Flying Tiger's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcHello everybody, latest development: last night I wanted to update the firmware of the Matrox triplehead2go to be shure to have the latest version of it because things aren't not yet fully to my satisfaction. After following the indicated steps during the update (did nothing wrong), in the end I had to restart the computer, which I did. And that was the end of it ! :( Crash. I had to run a recovery (F11) to reinstall my whole system (which took almost 3 hours) and now I have to (download and) reinstall everything. Naturally all my addons and settings for everythings that had to do with simmings were gone. Pfff... After I have installed everything again I will give it one more try to get the whole Matrox thing working as it should, and otherwise it will be for sale on the 2nd hand market because it gave me much more trouble than pleasure until now. Wait and see..................??? Thanks again for the support guys, just a pity not having the desired result (until now) Regards, Eddy

Flying Tiger replied to Flying Tiger's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcHi John, I just got home( 0.03 AM) and I have to wake up at 6.30 AM, so no time to read the whole post (but I couldn't resist to have a peek at the forum) . 3 monitors via Matrox Triplehaed2go
Flying Tiger replied to Flying Tiger's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcHi John, if all the settings are right why is the problem then still the same ? So, still not much enjoying yet. Hey, don't lie awake over it ^_^. From tomorrow I'll be gone for the weekend, and after returning on tuesday I can start anew with a clear head (hopefully), and what's more, it's only a few days away from the next club meeting and maybe there are some guy's with TH2Go experience who can help. My next purchase will be a 15,6" laptop for the same things you use it for. The track IR and the 3 Saitek panels are also on my wishlist. I don't want to be a copycat though, those items are on my list for some time. Just have to find the money, but hey, that's a detail Have a nice weekend everybody, Happy landings, Eddy PS: what's an MCP ? The closest I get in Wikipedia is an Mathematical Co-Processor.

How come some triple screens are not stretched?
Flying Tiger replied to GodAtum's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcHi Ron, in search for a sollution to my problem (I'm not the only one apparently) I discovered these posts. Now my head is buzzing even more . The explanation about the photo stuff in the YouTube video I understand (used to be a photographer by trade) but all the other chat goes to fast for me to follow and translate at the same time. But I'm going to listen to it a few more times occasionally, you never know. I appreciate it that you take so much time the help out the forum members :excl: regards, Eddy

3 monitors via Matrox Triplehaed2go
Flying Tiger replied to Flying Tiger's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcHello everyone, first reply is to Ron: I checked the resolution = Ok, and I also checked the device mamanger = also Ok, device works correct, everything spic & span. Thanks for tip though. Now it's John's turn: yes John, I am indeed a'n avid simmer. I fly almost every day (except now of course). I'm taking it very serious, not just fly around. Beside the usual simming I'm now studying real world navigation. "The aviators guide to navigation" a book by Donald J. Clausing. In everything Ido I try to be as good as possible. (that's why I was so angry at myself and disapointed a few days ago, among others). I joined a sim-club a few weeks ago but the meetings are only one sundag a month and the first time I went I did not have the TH2Go at that time. Next meeting is on the 14th of June. I have to drive ± 160 km to and fro to attend these meetings. I don't think I would do this if I wasn't an avid simmer. http://www.27sqn.be Since a couple of weeks ago the site is also in English (before only in Dutch which is my native language). Take a look ! For now I'm going to stick to FSX otherwise it possibly becomes even more complicated. Back to business. Even before I read your last post I took a few more pictures os some settings today. What I think looks weird in the image of the Display Settings bellow is that it is showing my graphic card (GTX 560). Is this the way it should be, or has the TH2Go has to pop up here??? The resolution show's ok though. The screen resolution is also Ok. The PowerDesk settings I'm no sure of, but I think it's Ok Right collum in more detail Something strange happend (in my opinion) here. At first "monitors used" showed "1". I then changed it to "3" (see the red arrow) and had to restart te computer. After re-starting I only got 1 screen lit-up (Left) and the icons and the dialog box for the GMX settings (this box) filled the whole screen. It was like starting up in save mode ! I changed it back to "1" la OOPS !!! I think I did a mistake (hit a wrong key) and I think the reply is already posted before it is finished. "Don't panic Mr. Manwairing, don't panic" ! Let's hope some of you can detect the possible error(s). Hopefully awaiting your replies best regards (once again) Eddy

Flying Tiger replied to Flying Tiger's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcHello followers, grumpy is back (thanks John, I have the photo sollution tattooed on my arm so I won't forget it in the future) Sorry for the grizzle last night folks, I guess it just wasn't my day. :( I really appreciate your efforts for trying to help me. Where were we? The day before yesterday, after a lot of whining en cursing, I finally got my desktop spread across my 3 monitors. Icons and taskbar were also back on screen. After that I downloaded the latest firmware and the PowerDesk software. So far so good. After that, I got as far as the next image. I opened FSX but the only screen was the VC of my Flight1 Cessna 172R. Left and right monitor still showing part of my desktop. I tryed some setting, messed things up and I had to start all over again. Afterwards, and after finally reading almost all the PowerDesk help files, I still couldn't make it work the way I wanted to. I wasn't able to get a wider view out of the L & R cockpit windows. The only thing I could do was placing my cursor on the left and right top corner of the window of the middle monitor and stretch my VC view to the left and right edges of my outer monitors. But that's not how it supposed to be as far as I know. As seen in the 2 next images you can see that the scennery is stretched and deformed. I checked a few video's on Youtube to be sure that this was not the we it supposed to be. I'm sorry that I, due to my limited knowledge of computers and their special terminology, can't figure it out by myself. I'm getting old(er). You'll see that on the image on the left monitor there is also missing a part of the cabine/fuselage. I'm sure it all comes down to settings, just can't figure it out. So once again, thanks in advance for those who will try to solve these problems. I'm close, very close, but I need you're help to take the final hurdle. Thanks again, The flying Grumpy

Flying Tiger replied to Flying Tiger's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcHi everybody, unless somebody tells me, in simple language please!, how to add some screenshots with my text to clarify what I'm seeing on my monitors and to help to solve the problem,I quit. I'm so tired of all this.Hours on end I'm struggeling to get this right, so disapointing. I don't remember how I added my photo's the first time, and now I'm searching all over the forum to find a simple "how to" but I find no strait and simple answer. I found something about opening an account on Photobucket, or something like that, but I didn't so the first time and I don't want do it this time. Sorry to all you guys who want to help me but I'm getting so confused (and mad at myself) , it's not healty any more. I think the forum is fantastic for those who are really into all this, and are English spoken, but for me (until now) it isn't working. I know my English is ok, but do you know how long it takes to look everything up so I don't make to much mistakes on spelling? Hey, sorry guys, I know I sound desperate and disillusioned, but that's how I feel. I'm gonna let it rest for some days and hope to start with a new and better spirit afterwards. By the way Brain, Downloading SGU didn't help either. I optimized FSX Accelaration (all green) but to no use. Also the automatic chosen resolution was to low. The optimum resolution, as proposed by other members must be 5760 x 1080. This resolution wasn't even possible in the SGU choices. But thanks anyway. Thanks again to everubody who wanted to help. Keep up the good work people. Regards, Eddy

Flying Tiger replied to Flying Tiger's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcHi guy's, a short update. (and don't you dare to laugh) I almost crossed the finish last night (very late) and I wanted to post my progression. After writing more than a half page of a paper format A4, and believe me writing in English goes seriously slower than in Dutch (my native thong). Last night I wanted to add some images at the bottom of my text to make it more clear. In contrast to my first post it didn't work. After a couple of attempts I got a bit angry (shame on me) and distracted I did something wrong (don't know what), and....oops, all the text gone, and I...., more p.ss.d. I called it a day and went to bed. Tonight I did the whole thing over..........everything, more or less. To make a long story short: after writing for almost one hour I wanted to close a tab, but instead of clicking on the tab, I clicked the X in the top right corner and......oops once again, I closed the website accidentally and .....have a guess.... . So here's what I'm gonna do tomorrow: I'm gonne write the text in "Word"...SAVE IT from time to time and later copy and paste it here !!! No more writing tonight ! So sorry folks, no more news from the Western Front tonight, but thanks for the concern and the interest in my posts. See you all tomorrow, Eddy PS: John, do you live in Northern Ireland or in the Republic (I'm guessing the Republic) May be this is personal, so if you don't want to answer, I understand.

Flying Tiger replied to Flying Tiger's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcHoochy, Ron first of all, I couldn't wait to try the Ron-way, but unfortunately.....no respons on screen. No task manager came up. As I said before, the screen looks frozen. So I guess it's back to Hoochy for the next attempt . Hoochy, I noticed that you have a 4th monitor. Nice setup by the way. Only simming for one year I can't complain (my financial situation considered). I own The Saitek yoke, throttles, peddals and trimwheel. My next buy's will be the 3 panels you have (one by one of course). First of all this problem needs to solved. After super I'm going to give it a go. Untel then, regards guy's the (almost) flyingtiger

Flying Tiger replied to Flying Tiger's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcTo Hoochy, Ron (and all the others), I'm getting close®, but I'm (we are) not over the finish yet. I followed the instructions given by Hoochy. After a few attempts to start in safe mode (I pressed the F8 button to quickly and couldn't enter the appropriate screen) I was able to start the computer in safe mode. I already downloaded the correct firmware and the Powerdesk software on my other computer and on a USB stick. After copying the 2 files to a map on my pc, I installed the firmware first, as proposed by Hoochy. So far so good. The computer has to be restarted, which I did. But I got back the same screen as the upper image of my original request, still with no icons or taskbar). I restarted the pc in safe mode again, and then I wanted to install the Powerdesk software. Problem ! Message on screen: " Windows installer doesn't work in safe mode" ! Back to square one  . I'm more and more convinced that the problem has nothing to do with the TH2Go (because in safe mode the windows explorer screen was spread over the 3 monitors) but it may be a windows issue. That's where Western Australia (hopefully) comes to my rescue. I am gonna try the sollution by Ron tonight and post an update after doing so. It has become an international problem B). It's my first time on this forum (only simming for appr. 1 year) but I'm full of admiration for the response. Why is it so difficult for the rest of the world to help each other to solve their problems??? Until the next post, thanks to all of you. Eddy

3 monitors via Matrox Triplehaed2go
Flying Tiger replied to Flying Tiger's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcHello Canada (Paul), thanks for the reply, but... everybody who as answered my request for help seems to mis one thing, I can't get into my computer. Whatever I try, I can't get acces to anything. No internet connextion, no windows explorer, nothing works. The only thing I see is the image of my desktop background. This is even so after I disconnetcted the th2gO. (see the 2 images encloes with my first request) After re-starting the pc (after disconnecting the Matrox device), it stays the same. Nothing works, so the problem has nothing to do (any more) with the TH2go I guess. This problem must be solved before I can download the necessary software. Does anyone thinks that running the recovery disc (what comes with the Medion pc) could solve the problem? I have to do it during the start up of the pc (via Bios?) because after the cd-rom does go into the dvd-staions and into the pc also nothing happens. Thanks again to anyone who takes the time to read this and try to help me. We'll get there in the end ! With Belgian regards, Eddy (and overhere it is time to go to sleep now - 11.15 PM) PS: I will read the "here" text tomorrow, but the first line also indicates that it is important to download the special software before you can do anything else, so I'm stuck. PS²: perhaps I don't always use the right (pc)expressions ,or I make some spelling mistakes, but I'm no computer expert and I learned Englisch by trail and error.

3 monitors via Matrox Triplehaed2go
Flying Tiger replied to Flying Tiger's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcThanks everybody, but.. Ricardo I've got the feeling that you're "just another quick one" could be the solution. I read somewhere that the power for the TH2go could come from a powered USB connection on the pc, or from a separate power supply but because of the fact that I have a bit of a image on the left and right monitor (see first request for help) I thought that the power was OK. May be it isn't and is that the solution, no power to drive the TH2go. I wil wait for the eventual answer from Matrox and following that answer, I will order the separate power supply. But the strange thing is that when I disconnect the TH2go and connect my middle monitor directly to my pc, totaly ignoring the Matrox splitter, I got the same result (see other image of the single monitor): no icons or no tastkbar to see on my desktop. Nothing works, not even when I try to access my Windows explorer (via knob windows+E). Clicking the right mouse button in the dekstp screen to try to enter the Nvidea configuration window: nothing happens ! It looks like the pc is frozen :-). This situation has nothing to do with the TH2go at that time, so what is wrong this time ? Computers ! Awaiting some reply (hopefully) the (not) flying tiger

3 monitors via Matrox Triplehaed2go
Flying Tiger replied to Flying Tiger's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcThat's part of the problem. As you see in the screenshots there are no pictogram's or no taskbar visible on the desktop screen that I can click on to enter the internet and download the control manager software, or the latest drivers (if needed). I can try whatever I want, nothing happens. Putting the dvd that comes with the splitter in the computer also does nothing. The dvd station closes but it doesn't read the dvd and, once again, nothing. So I can't download the software via a link on the dvd or so. I asked the same questions of my first post from this morning at the support of Matrox directly, but due to the weekend (I guess) no answer so far. I must confess that I'm not a great computer connoisseur, so may be there's a simple solution to perhaps enter the internet during start up of the computer or so, but I don't know it. This is all I can tell you. Thanks again, may be you know a little bit more now so you can possible help me. kind regards, Eddy
