  1. Hello Hamoody, because I don't know if my PM to you is send (I am so clumsy with these things, and every forum works different in some ways . But hey I was born right after the stone age, take that into consideration will you ). So to be sure: here it is via the "normal" way: Hello Hamoody, a bit later than planned but here is my reply. I am running X-Plane for 2 days now. There is so much to learn and it will take some time before any possible repainting. I am a total no-no with installing things, settings, change files etc. So it will give me a few more grey hairs ( and I have not much hair left!):-) . Before I start to buy addons and decide to stay with X-Plane I want to see how far I can get with all the fantastic freeware that is to be found on the internet. (and that is a whole lot!) From the 4 addons I already downloaded 2 of them aren't working. So back to their forums and wait for replies. So repainting isnt' going to happen in the near future I guess. But thanks anyway, and if start repainting, and have some problems, can I contact you again via a PM? I will check out that program you mentioned for posting pictures. I will send you the planes I repainted so far if you are interrested, just let me know if so. Ok? Kind regards, Eddy
  2. Hello again Hamoody, I will read your reply more thoroughly tommorow (time to go to bed now :-). But thaks again for your extensive answer. After reading I will send you an PM with some more explanation. Regards, Eddy
  3. Hello hamoody, thanks for the reply. I will bare it in mind when I decide to go with X-plane 11. Not sure if I'm going to do because I just discovered that the GTN750 is not compatible with one of my favorite planes, the Carenado C337H in X-plane (yet?). My repaints are just adaptaions of existing liveries. My knowlede isn't sufficient enough to make my own designs. (see my C337H). Maybe when I go for X-plane, and I experience some troubles with the repaints I will knok on your door once more, ok? Kind regards, Eddy Ps: I wanted to include a screenshot of my C337H repaint but the Dropbox file isn't accepted ???
  4. Hello repainters, or anybody who can answer, I am considering to purchase X-plane 11 to use next to my P3D v3.4. Question: I have made a few repaints of some of my Carenado & Alabeo aircrafts. Some of them I think I will also buy them in X-plane when I make the purchase. Is it possible to transfer my P3D textures to replace the according textures in X-plane, or do I have to do the repaints all over again? Awaiting some reply, kind regards, Eddy
  5. Hi Mark, a bit of a postponed reply (holidays you know- by the way all the best for 2018 to all who read this reply!) but I found the free DXTBmp package and it works very well. Problem solved ! Thanks. Reagrds, Eddy
  6. Hi simmers, I had the same problem in my C337 and I followed the instructions above and changed the dds file name to GTN750~1.dds. The problem was solved. But due to another little problem I decided to uninstall the C337 and install it again, to get a clean start. The only thing I did other than with previous installs is that I installed the C337, THEN RAN THE SIM (P3D v3.4 in my case) and after restarting the computer I executed the GTN750 file to place the GTN inside the cockpit. After installing the C337 I looked into the "common.texture" folder to locate the wrong named dds.file, and what I then noticed is that there was an extra .dds file in this folder with the name GTN750~1.dds already under it (beside the .dds file with the wrong name). When I loaded the C337 the bezel of the GTN was indeed visible. Without to change any name of the existing (wrongly named) .dds file. So maybe this could help some of you too. First run the sim after installing the C337 and then later install the GTN. I ran everything as "administrator". It worked for me. Good luck ! Regards, Eddy
  7. Hello Jim, (was it for you that Canadian singer Paul Anka wrote the song "Hello Jim" ? I guess not ) thanks for the info. I saw the notification under the bell, but in the settings I assumed that the possibility to "One email per day with all new content from that day" was an email containing ALL new posts/replies of that day, and that is why I didn't choose this option. Maybe it is, I will see because, I did change my preferences in the settings now. Thanks again, regards, Eddy
  8. Hello Bert / Mark, once again I didn't get a notification that there where replies on my post. So a postpopned reply from me once again, sorry. I see what I can do with your information and will inform you if I succeeded. Thanks again for the help. Bert: bedankt voor de info vanuit een ondergesneeuwd Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. 15 Cm wat uitzonderlijk is voor hier, maar in Canada zullen ze wel meer gewend zijn denk ik ! :-) greetz, Eddy
  9. Hi repainters, yesterday I took the benefit of the discount sales with Carenado to buy 5 extra aircrafts. I always make a repaint of an existing livery. Changing colors, adding decals, add my own registration etc. I use Photoshop CC (always the latest version) . With most aircraft textures there are dds-files to be found in the texture files. Not with 4 out of 5 this time. Only the Cessna 337 Skymaster HD has those files included. The 4 others have al bmp files in the existing liveries. I can't open these to work with them. Not in PS, paint, photos, Paint 3D. Can somebody give some advice on how to open these files so I can edit the liveries to my liking. Other aircrafts purchased: C90 King Air, C185F bush, float, amphibian, C208B Grand Caravan, Piper PA28 Archer II Hoping for a possitive reply, in the meantime kind regards, Eddy Vandenberghe, Holland
  10. Hi guys, I have the same problem and I'm glad I found a sollution here, but...... as a total no-no on computers etc. can you tell me where I can find this "mod package" pleaso so I can remove this bug on this otherwise great Alabeo plane. Thanks in advance, Eddy PS: Bert Pieke sounds like a Belgian or Dutch name, am I right? :-) I'm from Belgium but live in Holland
  11. Hi Rob, although we never met this feels quite a bit like loosing someone who you always could depent on. A safe haven in case of trouble. Even as today, and the last couple of weeks as we tried to solve a problem, you always took the time to provide replies as soon as possible. Very personal contact, that's how I felt it. All the credit to you and Sean for giving the sim world some outstanding airplanes. You were trailbreakers for high end airplanes with only minor companies that can follow in your footsteps. It was a shock that I found out about the closure of RealAir the minute I wanted to buy the TurbineDuke. I was planning it for weeks but always something came up, I'll do it tomorrow, and now it's to late. I'm mad about myself grrr...... A throughly sad thing for the sim world. But there are more important things than this in life. So it's from the bottom of my heart that I wish you, and Sean and of course Carla all the best, fingers crossed. Thanks for the fantastic support through the years and enjoy your well deserved retirement. Good luck ! Eddy Vandenberghe, Holland
  12. Hello everybody, latest development: last night I wanted to update the firmware of the Matrox triplehead2go to be shure to have the latest version of it because things aren't not yet fully to my satisfaction. After following the indicated steps during the update (did nothing wrong), in the end I had to restart the computer, which I did. And that was the end of it ! :( Crash. I had to run a recovery (F11) to reinstall my whole system (which took almost 3 hours) and now I have to (download and) reinstall everything. Naturally all my addons and settings for everythings that had to do with simmings were gone. Pfff... After I have installed everything again I will give it one more try to get the whole Matrox thing working as it should, and otherwise it will be for sale on the 2nd hand market because it gave me much more trouble than pleasure until now. Wait and see..................??? Thanks again for the support guys, just a pity not having the desired result (until now) Regards, Eddy
  13. Hi everybody, just got back from a short holiday break. I will check out the forum more thoroughly later on. Until then, happy landings Eddy
  14. Hi John, I just got home( 0.03 AM) and I have to wake up at 6.30 AM, so no time to read the whole post (but I couldn't resist to have a peek at the forum) . Back home on tuesday. That MCP looks nice. I will check it out later (I don't have an iPad). Urgent need to go to (try) sleep now. Have a nice weekend, The sleeping Tiger
  15. Hi John, if all the settings are right why is the problem then still the same ? So, still not much enjoying yet. Hey, don't lie awake over it ^_^. From tomorrow I'll be gone for the weekend, and after returning on tuesday I can start anew with a clear head (hopefully), and what's more, it's only a few days away from the next club meeting and maybe there are some guy's with TH2Go experience who can help. My next purchase will be a 15,6" laptop for the same things you use it for. The track IR and the 3 Saitek panels are also on my wishlist. I don't want to be a copycat though, those items are on my list for some time. Just have to find the money, but hey, that's a detail Have a nice weekend everybody, Happy landings, Eddy PS: what's an MCP ? The closest I get in Wikipedia is an Mathematical Co-Processor.
