  1. Hi! Many thanks for the pic! I was just reading the review of FranceVFR's Pas-de-Calais yesterday so this is nice to see!! Many thanks, Pierre
  2. Hi! Many thanks for the pics and links too. That weather program looks great and maybe what I need sometimes. Look forward to more pics of the Greek Islands! Many thanks, Pierre
  3. Hi! Many thanks for the replies. Many thanks for the offer. It might be nice to meet a fellow flightsimmer in real life as I don't think I've ever met one. I think I might start hanging out under the threshold for 26L or 8R in the near future! Many thanks, Pierre
  4. Hi! Many thanks for the post and nice to hear a bit about aviation from a part of the World not talked about much in these forums (from what I'm aware!). In particular the Australian National Aviation museum looks definitely my kinda thing, especially liked the page about Australian made aircraft which I knew little about. Good luck with the RW flying career! Many thanks, P.
  5. Hi! A few years ago I used to play computer games a lot. Mainly flightsim and golf games. But some games like flightsim and stuff are also good education in my opinion too so it's not a total waste of time I don't think! Many thanks, Pierre
  6. Hi! Many thanks for the link and post. it looks like a cool museum. The Sr-71 is definitely an aircraft that catures my imagination! (That and Firefox!). Many thanks, Pierre
  7. Hi! Many thanks for the replies and stories. I guess I should maybe not try to worry about it so much and try to focus more on being happy myself. However that is easier said than done from my experience! However I did manage to get out today and went to visit my old airfield where I used to take flying lessons which was nice. It's a beautiful airfield and on a sunny day like today is even better in real life than FsX. Plus the people at my old flight school don't mind me hanging out and drinking a diet coke for an hour! On an aviation note there was a Cessna lesson today where the flaps stopped working (C172). They handled it well though and everyone was safe which is good. Many thanks, Pierre
  8. Hi! Lol! You have a good point however I'm not really that kinda guy! Many thanks for the tip though! Pierre
  9. Hi! That's cool. I know a lot of guys play online games now and enjoy them but I've never tried. The reason I like computer games to start with is becuase I'm not good with people. The last thing I want to do is interact with others but that's probably just me! I do have Call of Duty for PC though which I played in a shop once and really enjoyed and then found in the store Game for £5. Will maybe try it out one of these days. Many thanks, Pierre
  10. Hi! Had a look and looks very nice. Good work. I like the fearture to look up weird runway surfaces, I have never seen that before. There seem to be more and more small niche websited popping up which are a useful resource for flightsim. The one I use a lot is "Fs freeware scenery list". It's great. Many thanks and good luck with further developments if you do them, Pierre
  11. Hi! If you like those kinda first first person shooter and you haven't tried it I would reccommend the first Goldeneye game for Nintendo 64 I think it was (I'm not sure). I had an emulator once and downloaded it and it was very good. Many thanks, Pierre
  12. Hi! Many thanks for the reply. I have noticed this a little too that some people seem to be quite into this old style of gaming. Here in the UK I think there is even a magazine in supermarkets called "Retro gaming". I don't really see it as retro though, just games I like playing. Anyway will check out Grimrock! Many thanks, Pierre
  13. Hi! Many thanks for the replies. Some very true words spoken and good info thanks. Yes my system is a Dell Vostro desktop. Their Vostro systems really are good value I find if you're looking for something cheap. I was looking at one today online which was selling new for £249 I think. Integrated graphics of course! Yes I did have a PCI-E dedicated graphics card for a while and the image quality especially further out was a lot sharper (with tweaks). Even a £25 card these days has 1GB memory I think and would improve my graphics a lot I think! But I'm still hanging on (maybe because I don't have £25 at the moment!). If anyone's interested here are a few screenies of a recent flight using the Intel Graphics. They're really not that bad! (or maybe they are!). http://forum.avsim.net/topic/384631-a-few-pics-from-a-mission/ Many thanks! P.
  14. Hi! Many thanks for the reply. Some very wise words. The point about two wholes definitely applies to my brother. He is nothing like me and a lot more confident and stuff and his wife too. I'm sure they have their problems too but both of them seem to be happy within themselves as well as together and with their kids. Anyway although he is busy he still is nice to me and tries to find time which I am grateful for. His wife doesn't really like me much but there's no rule saying she has to! Anyway I don't really mean to make my life sound miserable. it really isn't. I watch movies and play flightsim sometimes and eat ice cream. These are all good things! Maybe I need to find someone else who likes doing the same! Many thanks. P.
  15. Hi! Many thanks for the replies and tips. At least one of the things I'm very lucky with in life is that I don't really have to worry about money. I'm not really rich or anything but I live with my parents and they don't mind and my Dad made enough money and I don't really spend anything as I don't really do that much! I am thankful for this every day as without it I would probably be living in a shelter or wandering around the countryside begging or something. I really don't know. Sometimes I get together with old schoolfriends but we are so different now that I've kinda given up. It got to the point where we would go out and they would talk and laugh among themselves and totally ignore me even though I was standing right there. If i tried to add something or join in they would say something back and then ignore me again. So I kinda stopped doing that as it wasn't really good for anyone. I have one friend now who travels a lot with work but I see every few months for an hour or so. We are both into music quite a lot so can talk about that which is good. And he tells me stories about his travelling around the World and the people he meets and stuff which is nice to hear sometimes. I can imagine divorce wouldn't be too good for me. If I lost what money (savings) I have I would be in a lot of trouble. I tried internet dating once and it was a complete failure. The people on them are way too mainstream for a guy like me. Anyway to get married my Mum (and me too) kinda want to marry someone of the same background. However I kinda come from a tiny minority and there are very few of us and the girls for the most part are all hot high maintenance types who I have absolutely nothing in common with and who don't enjoy my company at all. Oh and I hang out with our gardener sometimes when he's round! Many thanks. P.
